Return of the SSR Mesh
Nelsonian replied to rooger82's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Can't wait to hear more on these SSR's as nothing on their web site yet. Also digging those Star Road wheels. -
I just recently returned from a nice two week vacation, (my annual visiting of family and friends in North Carolina). While I was there driving around in the one stop light town of New Hill where my parents live, I noticed a nice old 63' corvette and other vintage race cars about to be loaded into a transport truck. I stopped in to Apex Vintage and spoke with Rod Atkinson who was gracious enough to stop what he was doing for a few moments and answer my questions and he allowed me to snap a few pics. Most of these cars had just raced a few weeks earlier at VIR, and some were about to head to Texas next. Think I will move my next years trip ahead a few weeks into September to have the chance to make it to VIR with friends who regularly attend. I also had a chance to dig through my great grandpa's tool box that he built as well as see some of his old family kept furniture he had made in the early 1900. I was told that he would take the old mahogany wood that was used at the time for shipping crates and make furniture and other items from it. I ended up all over the place (Nags Head, Rodanthe, Hampsted, Wilmington, Raleigh) and got some very fun surf in the Outer Banks. I always enjoy getting out of California for a few weeks and getting back to my roots in NC.

Return of the SSR Mesh
Nelsonian replied to rooger82's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
The reverse mesh is my all time favorite mesh style wheel. Really wish there were plans for some 17 inchers or the tire manufacturers would provide more options in the 16" range. -
1970 series 1-Paint the engine bay black or color?
Nelsonian replied to Perfect240z's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
Paint it all the same color as it just flows sooo much better visually. -
datsun 240z with porsche 911 flares :)

I'm drooling over those interior pics and would love to see some more up close if you have. Seriously reconsidering the 240sx dash swap now. -
According to this thread (http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/111003-preferred-water-pump-l28et/?hl=%2Bld28+%2Bwater+%2Bpump&do=findComment&comment=1038367) , Atsugi is the parent company of Paraut and was the oem Nissan provider. Could anyone else buying the Rock auto offerings post pics of what you receive. Looks like I will be returning the virtually duplicate pump to Rock Auto.

I'm digging that car z-ya. There is a yellow 72' or 73' with bubble flairs and Libre's that is local to me, and I enjoy watching it every time I see it go by.

Okay, I received mine (Aisin WPN079) last week and test fitted it by lining up holes loosely into the timing cover and it fits and spins WITHOUT any modification done to the cover. It is only slightly different (extended tab) than my new polished Paraut pump. The new Aisin appears to have had something lightly dremmeled off in two places. Paraut on the left and Aisin on the right. What do I have going on here?

There used to be a product called Zoop seal, but I believe another company purchased the formula or rights. It is supposed to last three years from application and not tarnish or change color from its clear state. What ever the current state or visual appearance if the metal before application is what you will see. If you search zoop seal you will come across a cobra valley (iirc), they can explain farther. I have yet to apply the product myself, but have a boat load if polished aluminum and chrome to cover.

Lightweight, longer lasting, better performing, lithium battery upgrade
Nelsonian replied to Savage42's topic in Drivetrain
So would this battery work well for a 240z with electric windows, doors and a decent stereo (600ish w) amp? -
We need a video sound clip ^^

The only dealings with TEP I have ever had, was two separate purchases of ARP rod bolts and head studs. They had both in stock and sent out in a timely manner. After reading all the negative remarks and experiences others have had with their engine work, machining etc, I would not consider using their services.

I just got on board and ordered one. Just before I did it stated 4 available, so 3 now or ??

Come to think of it, I have seen in recent weeks advertised for sale on SD Craigslist a new in crate 260z engine that has been in storage in La Jolla for many years. Not sure if it is still currently on CL.
