  1. If this is a street only car, I really don't think a ton of aero mods will make a noticable difference. For a street/weekend car check out Austin Hoke's Z. That is one of my favorite street driven Z cars on this site. Just my 2 cents worth.
  2. Great info and very nice job. My definition of basic tools is a big hammer and a bigger hammer. No matter how hard I try I don't think I could build a pan with those tools.
  3. Measure the distance between the frame rails. Compare it to the FSM diagram. It's on this site somewhere. That is a nice chasis but if it was bent, I would not put alot of time and money into the car.
  4. It's the while I'm at it syndrome. The engine was out of the car and I couldn't leave it alone no matter how hard I tried.
  5. What are you guys using for header gaskets on ported heads? I've always used the stock gasket on my stock heads but the stock gasket blocks the larger ports on the new heads. Any ideas? Thanks.
  6. I used that mount in my lt-1 car and the ls1 car. Both have the T56. I did need to address drive line angles. I think I had to notch part of the mount for one car but I really didn;t have to do alot to it.
  7. I wonder is that was tested in a wind tunnel? You can't argue with the results but, man its ugly.
  8. I had this guy rebuild mine. I shipped it and he installed the lsd and new bearings. It's been on the track for a couple of years and has not missed a beat. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=142964
  9. You should have said HUGE filter:mrgreen: Hope you give birth soon.
  10. I've got a set of the smooth line front fenders, never mounted. I'll let them go for 500 for the pair plus shipping.
  11. Grumpy, I'm putting the heads back on the boat motor. It's and 89 mercrusier 454. Basically a chevy big block, all stock. Do you have a link that will give me the torque values and sequence for the head bolts? Also, should I use some type of sealant on the heald bolts? Thanks
  12. Maybe Ross has something. I don't remember if anyone ever did a batch of those. All the front mounts I've seen on the Q 45 were custom.
  13. The RT mount won't work with the Q 45 diff.
  14. I'm putting the engine back together and need a few adapters. I've bought the metrics to sae fittings before but I have lost the link. The package had several types and sizes and was pretty cheap. Any one got a link? Thanks
  15. This worked for me. DATSUN 240Z DOOR STRIKERS LEFT SIDE CORRECT FROM AUG 1970 TO 1973 MODEL YEARS PART: ZD09B $25.00 US. EACH LEFT* http://www.new-datsun-parts.com/datsun-240Z-parts-doors.html
  16. Remove the interior trim piece on the lower part of the hatch. You can reach in there and release the latch mechanism with your finger.
  17. Don't change the roof line to accomadate a lift if it will negativitly affect the asthetics of the house. 3 single doors would be the way I would go. I have 2 single doors on my double garage. It works just fine.
  18. Let us all know when the car will be at CMP. I would love to hear that thing run!
  19. It was some type of meter but not a multimeter sorry I can't be more specific.
  20. I had a buddy who is an electrical engineer come over to the house with his equipment and he determined the starter was sending out an AC spike. He said it would kill the alternator. I replaced the starter, it fixed my problem.
  21. John, I figured it was your car.
  22. I had a similar problem with my lt-1 car. It turned out to be a bad starter. It someone alot smarter than me to figure it out.
