  1. The MSA in my car. Pros: The motor is set back more like JTR but you can still use long hooker tube headers. Car is 1 inch lower than stock and still has plenty of room for a 7qt oil pan and headers on the street curbs. Stock hood and 14 inch air cleaner possible. Cons: Removal of oem latch housing and install replacement bracket which must use a small cap style dist. As far as shifter hole locations and trans crossmembers I would expect them to be custom items with any kit conversion.
  2. Is there any way to fasten the hood like oem with mods? Just wondering as I see you still have stock latch on the firewall.
  3. I use the hooker long tubes but with the MSA mounts. Fit is perfect but I dont know if they will work with your JTR set up. My heads have similar angle plugs. Had to dent one tube to clear on passenger side but only a little. There are some pics in my hybrid gallery if interested. Brian http://album.hybridz.org/showgallery.php?cat=500&page=3&ppuser=10889
  4. Twoeightnine. In post #22 on this thread I posted a picture showing all this you ask. Having the plates bolted in the car before tacking is critical. The print is a sound design but there is no way these numbers will fit every car perfectly. You see the upper isolator attached to the Ron Tyler mount. Then the gold colored metal spacers between that and the diff. The whole thing uses through bolts around 5 inches long typical. Here is the isolator I used purchased from summit. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=ENS%2D3%2D1108G&N=700+115&autoview=sku
  5. Twoeightnine I used this great design from petes pages too. All the parts sizes are with in tolerance. The only thing different I did was tack weld the parts in the car to insure a custom fit. The design is very adjustable using spacers between the upper diff and isolator. Setting your driveline angles first is the key.
  6. Trapped nose from the top and bottom. Lowered pinion, iso rubber mounted, 1.2 DS angle, No vibs.
  7. Hey v80z I have the same springs with illumina struts. Yea the car ride is firm to say the least but handles well. My point is before I had 200/225 springs. The ride was softer but body rolled too much in transitions. Stock sway bar front and no rear bar. What are you running for bars?
  8. I'm using corbeau A4s. Not an original idea, but they are light and fit very well in a Z.
  9. On second thought.... DUDE it's a tight ride. Stay the course.
  10. This will be an interesting auction to watch. As I know the quality of this car is good and you have many hours of blood sweat into it.
  11. I have the H4's too. They are not bright enough, period. HID projection lights are really cool. They cost way more but you get what you pay for. Do a search here on them and you will see what I mean.
  12. I run the long tube hookers with MSA mounts. The fit is exelent.
  13. Update: Noise gone. Car runs and shifts great. It was the pilot bushing. A gm mechanic friend said go with the bronze bushing type instead so the rest is history.
  14. Is it binding on the flywheel gear Gear mesh ok? Just a thought if it worked on the bench but not in car.
  15. Killer FI ...and I like the color choice too!
  16. Hang in there Yasin! Don't take up baking quite yet, it will be worth it when you hear that motor sing once again.
  17. Well I replaced the bronze one which was worn out to .630 with .590 being the spec. Went with a oem GM roller type. Like I said before everything is very new. I can't see it really being the gearbox when the clutch pedal is pushed in. The clutch looks great nothing broken, barely worn in fact. I am no expert. But will have the car running next week again and will post results.
  18. Seems to me one could mount a v6 more to rear of the car anyways with different mounting. I think someone here has done 4.3 before in a Z. Do a search I bet you will find something on it.
  19. Update : It was the pilot bushing.
  20. Ok so which weighs more? 1st gen sbc with alum heads, intake, waterpump, typical long tube headers, Holley 4 bbl carb? Or an LS2 with harness and computer etc needed to swap out? The reason I ask is old man thinks his 06 vette alum LS2 weighs considerbly less than my 327. EDIT: Question answered from the above respones. Sorry for posting before reading everything, me bad.
  21. Very interesting thread. I was wondering this for a while now. Guess my old 327 block is not so heavy after all.
