  1. Also double check on the width's of the two cars. I never got around to that.
  2. I'm wrapping my manifold because I don't want to spend an extra $100 or so shipping my manifold to them and back. For $300 I think coating would be the way to go. Plus I had a bad experience wrapping with cheap autozone crap. I was a noob and wore a Tshirt and got fibers all up my arms. Itched for days. Wear something with long sleeves. For the fuel rail you could use that foil stuff, same for your wiring loom if its melting.
  3. Well the coupe is like a foot shorter. My 2+2 had almost the exact wheel base as my friends s13 hatchback. Hatch angle was steeper on the zx 2+2. Do it and post results. For what it's worth I would still rather have my cage custom bent. Its cramped as is in my coupe and I dont want to be hitting my head on the roll bar.
  4. What kind of throttle bodies are those? And I was wondering what that thing was that is in the location of the AC compressor. What are you going to do about the rack?
  5. because it has been asked 1000000000x. If you want a direct bolt on you want a r200 from an 87-89 300zx turbo, it onl has 3.7 gear ratio. They go for about $1000 on CL and people are holding on to them now. I would rather just find a 3.9 or 4.11 r200 and throw in an OS Giken LSD.
  6. I'd buy them for $80. $20 a rim, a little better than junkyard prices.
  7. My friend just bought a block from him. There was dirt under the head and some pretty bad overspray on the deck.
  8. This exactly happened to my friends fairlady zx. It had like 5 yr old gas, and I actuall had it running and driveable. Randomly when I started it after 2 weeks of driving it every day around the block, it randomly started running like crap. Pulled the valve cover off and saw the same thing. When he went to have it checked out they said the old gas caused a valve to stick.
  9. It could also be in SAE or metric. The fuel rail cockerstar made for me had 1/2 openings and I ended up going with AN fittings. I used a 1/2 to -8 AN fitting
  10. 500lbs/in is about 9kg/mm. I'm using s13 coilovers with pretty much those rates (9kg front and 7kg rear) in my 280zx.
  11. I need the oil pan. PM me if you are parting the engine
  12. Could be that you have a hazard switch that has different pin inputs? I know my hazard switch is a junkyard piece and had 5 output pins, but only 4 on the harness side ( or vice versa).
  13. They are the same. I believe the studs last a long time, and the nuts are what are replaceable? someone please correct me if I'm wrong. For what it's worth, I haven't had to pull the head in my engine for over 25,000 miles.
  14. Just went out and checked mine. They work with the key off. I drive an 80 280zx though, not an s30. Makes sense for them to work with the key in the off position though
  15. I only rolled my fenders, and did it all around. For the fronts I'm running a 16x8 with -13 offset because of my coilovers. 225 is perfect for an 8in wide wheel. My rears are 16x10. I don't run spacers. Because racecar
  16. You're talking about battlesquaddatsun I think, or akumazedex on ratsun. He is running 16x8 rota grids with +10 offset. He originally had to use a 3mm spacer to clear the stock struts, then when he wanted to be flush he went with 1.25" spacers up front and 1.5" spacers in the rear. Also he is using coilovers. S13 in the rear and GC up front
  17. I used to have a NRG brand one. I got it for the same reasons, I had trouble getting into and out of my car with my sparco seat. I never had any problems for a year while I was DDing the car. Never popped out and always locked. My issue was that it actually cramped up my arms by moving the wheel closer to me. That's why I didn't like it. So I sold it. By comparison, one of my friends had an NRG on his scion xb and it broke it 4 months. My other friend has had an Ebay special quick release on his 240sx for like 3 years now no issues. Honestly seems like a crap shoot to me, but that's just my opinion
  18. When you run a bigger tire, you have a bigger diameter and so you're speedo will be off. I've had a bigger tire for like....a year now and I'm kicking butt at autoX events. I would try for a 225/50, since it is almost perfect for tire size. PLus they are cheaper, more options, weigh less..... Asking if they will fit depends on your offset and your suspension\. I'm pretty sure you have shocks and struts right? if so then get either 0 offset or slightly negative and it will fit fine.
  19. What do you mean thermal plate? Like something to keep the hot air from the oil cooler from going into my rad? So today I went AutoXing again and they recognized me and my car ( I still wanted to run novice and it was only my third time). They laughed at the fact that I was in novice and was outrunning quite a few cars today. I'm now going to have to run in B street Prepared (BSP) because of my coilovers. This means I'll need a little more power, and what better way to make that happen than with a stock turbo transplant. Gird your loins for updates.....
  20. I managed to get my 2+2 down to 2600 with 15" rims on it. Without me in it. I'm looking forward to this
  21. My 260z needle would bounce around too. I always thought it was the tach going out. Somedays it was good and never happened others it would bounce like crazy for no apparent reason.
  22. I was maybe gonna say that, but then thought there is no way even that "muffler" will quiet anything down without a silencer in it.
  23. ^^^ Mongo's custom rear suspension. When his car rolled over he threw some pics up somewhere on this site.
