  1. Yes a fan shroud would definitely help. Did you re route any of the coolant lines on the side of the block?
  2. Yes that's not a turbo engine. It's an N/A engine. It is as simple as changing the pistons.
  3. There is not a lot of clearance between the hood and top mount, probably not enough for the edfc unit. Also you would need to basically cut out the stock mount and weld a new s13 coilover compatible top in. Like these(not the tubes, just the strut tops/plates): http://www.zccjdm.com/catalog.php/azcarbum/dt93255/pd2117800/240Z_MEGAN_SUSPENSION_TUBES__STRUT_PLATES_
  4. They look like appliance mesh rims, and thats the only brand I can think of with an A. An older manufacturer. Dealerships put them on.
  5. Th biggest things with teins is that unless you get a higher end product the fronts do not have a movable bottom mount. If it has a movable bottom mount then you can do it.
  6. I reused them on my stock engine, and it's held up for 20k miles. I bought new ones for my high comression enigne. Metric grade 10.9 from a store that only sells nuts and bolts.
  7. Is there any work done to the head currently on? if not just build a solid lifter head on the side and go all out.
  8. There's also Vildini motorsports, they do SR and RB swaps too, top notch work, but a bit pricey(er).
  9. Here you go. I used google. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/18670-240z-auto-to-manual-transmission-swap/
  10. That seems about right, I remember Zforce was selling them $500-$600 a pair, but they didn't have the detail on the inside like these.
  11. There is a fact sheet somewhere online that lists all the specs of all the different cams. edit: Damn beat me to it
  12. flywheel surface are on all coupes and non turbo cars is 225mm surface. The 2+2s and turbo zx's had a 240mm surface Same goes for the clutch, but normally they will say it in inches so like 8.8 inches to 9.5 inches Just remember that the bigger clutch uses a bigger AND heavier pressure plate. So if you get a bigger pressure plate with the lightened flywheel it will be about the same total weight as a regular flywheel with a smaller pressure plate.
  13. Sunrise Z in Glendale. Ask for Art. You can also try Betamotorsports. JohnC is a admin here and you could PM him
  14. If you are not going to do any serious driving with this car, keep it stock. You can get some out of the junkyard for like $50 a pair and they are already out to service with new bushings and spindle pin. If you want to do all the suspension stuff later, then get the TTT LCA's.
  15. Honestly its good to replace those injector clips anyway, by now the 30 year old plastic couldn't have had much more life in them.
  16. I like my engine, but I regret not doing a turbo swap. With the money for the cam kit, machine work on the head+install and rebuilding+cost of the webbers I could have had a pretty darn good turbo setup. But every time I hear my car start up and start to pull its orgasmic.
  17. Yes, people put carbs on fuel injected heads all the time...
  18. That electric turbo is really an injector cooler. So that block [probably] never saw boost. More numbers, my 260z had an L24 that was bored out to an L26 with a e88 head and a stock cam. I made 140hp on a dynopack dyno(bolted directly to the hubs) with rebuilt SU's. Like leon said it exaggerates the numbers a little and does not take into account traction from the tires, so I'm guessing around the same as leon. And that car felt snappy with the 3.9 gearing in the back. It was a completely tame street car and felt awesome. I do not have any trap times or 0-60 times. I need to get another dyno session now since I installed my L28, triple webbers, headers and cam.
  19. Turbo will always be cheaper per hp than a stroker. The only high horsepower stroker I saw in person made 274hp or something like that. Building the longblock( machine work, porting, crank and pistons etc.) cost the guy more than $10k. He was running megasquirt with EDIS and I don't even know how much more it cost him to set that up.
  20. I have 265/45/16 tires on my 16x10 diamond racing wheels sidewall aspect ratio width compared to a 195 rearish view
  21. with not a lot of money you can't really get a ton more hp out of it. Its all in the headwork and machining. You can get things that you will use when you have the money to get the headwork done, like a set of headers and maybe even a cam kit. But if you plan on swapping in a turbo later then just start buying and preparing for that and not waste money on things you won't be using.
