  1. Anyone know the difference? I thought I read the 240SX has a larger piston. I thought I also read that in Japan the 240SX (S15) uses Z32 brake calipers as stock equipment. So I am wondering if the two are interchangeable or different. Thanks.
  2. That is exactly what I was thinking. What good is the warranty if you are dead and can't collect. Oops, our bad you just died because our product broke just doesn't seem to put my mind at ease.
  3. Nice swap. You listed your car as a '73 260, but the 260Z was offered in '74 only.
  4. Thanks for the info. Outside the US always gets the best cars:(
  5. Interesting. Maybe the smog regulations didn't effect the 260Z in Oz. Now I am curious...did it come stock with the SU carbs?
  6. 78' stock rear diff should be 3.54 unless I am mistaken.
  7. Welcome John. You definitely came to the right place. Most of your questions if not all can be answered using the search function. Familiarize yourself with it and you will gain a ton of knowledge and the guys on the board will be very willing to help. Some things that might help... This one kind of depends on who you ask and what you ultimate power goals are. At 300HP I don't think you have much to worry about as either chassis will work fine with little done to it. This also depends on how much welding and reinforcing the chassis you want to/can do yourself as your power levels increase. The 240Z will work fine as power levels increase, but will take a bit more reinforcing for all things to be equal. I believe the 72-73 transmission tunnels are a little wider than the 70-71 but still manageable. You mentioned LSX motors so you probably want to try someone like JCI (John's Cars Inc?) as JTR specializes in the earler V8s. Aside from the motor mounts you can still acquire other parts from JTR. From what members are reporting "Yes". Yes, but not recommended. Guys, correct me if I am wrong but does that generate too much heat for the Zcar which was never really designed with that in mind? Ebay, Junkyards, classifieds on HybridZ. This one really varies. Some guys have gotten smoking deals and others have paid more so it really depends a lot on patience and luck. Again, welcome and good luck!

    What a cutie!
  9. G/F's are very replaceable. I dated a gal that did not understand my addiction either. She asked when I was going to grow up. Funny, I don't remember much of her after that. My wife whom I met a few years later was not really a car person, but she still took an interest and even helps out from time to time. She has never uttered anything other than "Go for it"? Gems like that are out there so if the bills are paid and she has her toys then no reason you can't have yours.
  10. I hope the cars in the background were not the competing local all datsun show??
  11. Great video. I saw one of these up close and personal at the Coffee & Cars show at Mazda's Corporate parking lot about a month ago. People were swooning all over it (for good reason).
  12. That is a pretty smart idea. Seems so simple and to be honest I never even considered it before. Nice post.
  13. I would like more details as this has peaked my curiosity. I too am lost on 35psi and 500whp from a 383. Please elaborate.
  14. That may very well be true, but Toyota does not do a very good job at concealing new cars, the exception to the this may be the new (if ever produced) Supra. GM could've easily seen the car and/or specs well before production. I am not saying that did in fact happen; just pointing out that coming out in the same year doesn't mean it wasn't influenced or copied from another car in the same production year.
  15. This was the first time I read this and well worth the read.
  16. Kudos Phil! The wheels look great and the progress on your car has been incredible. Congratulations on all the progress.
  17. Try contacting karim...i think his screen name is racer98.
  18. I am still wondering who this guy is? The guy gives a very favorable endorsement to the Z32 and at the end i am asking myself "okay, who is it?".
  19. Senior Financial Analyst for an avionics company. Started out as a waiter/bartender then mechanic for 2 years then went to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA for my B.S in Finance. Worked for Toyota's corporate office for 5 years as a Pricing Analyst and Financial Planner. Next worked for Mazda's corporate office for 3+ years as a Financial Analyst...bringing me to my current job.
  20. Clifton, Wow, do you have a ton of inertia. Very impressive!
  21. I emailed the guy for fun fully expecting a send me a money order get nothing in return scam. This was the response.... ************************************** Hello, Sorry for taking so long getting back to you. I already have tons of emails so I hope you understand that I need to sort them out. My name is Jonathan Herbach and I am glad you are interested in my 1996 Nissan 240SX SILVIA S14 RB26DETT Skyline - 110787 Miles (6 cyliner motor with 2.6 liters, VIN# : JN1AS44D7TW053320), Is 100% working and looking perfect, no scratches or any kind of damage, it is an US clear title, no engine problems. I want to let you know all the details of the transaction from the beginning to make everything clear. Since I'm very busy, traveling a lot with business, I have chosen the eBay Shipping Center program to take care of all the proceedings, so the car is right now in their possession in a warehouse in San Jose, CA from where it will be shipped by eBay as I had to go abroad for a business seminar and I deposited it there to do this deal in the meantime. Beside shipping the car eBay will act as the middle man - holding the payment until you receive and inspect the car. You will have a 3 days inspection period. Since I did not paid the shipping fees, the bottom price for this beauty is $6100 with an extra cost of $340 for delivery. The transaction will be backed by their program. Please note that the car was listed on Craigslist and not eBay! I am just using the eBay protection program offered by eBay. Now, if are really serious and want to close this deal email me back with your full name and shipping address and I will provide them to eBay, in order to the secure transaction over eBay. Sincerely, Jonathan Herbach ************************************* That is confirmation to me that this is one huge steaming pile of BS.
