  1. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=103860 Just takes a search and voila, I ended up in the FAQ section with that. Davy
  2. I'm bumping this thread to find out if you have any more pictures of what you've done. This is a very intriguing idea for a reasonably low cost. Pics?? EDIT: Nevermind, the pics show up fine in the first post and enlarge when clicked on. Nice work! Davy
  3. Thanks, Warren for coming through with the pics. BARACU's hosting company isn't friendly! This is from Alsil's site: http://zcar.netdojo.com/sideswap.php Kudos to Al for keeping his site up even after he sold the car. Davy
  4. This is an unflippinbelievable picture: Is that a 240SX dash? Nice work!!!! Davy
  5. Bobby, I'm not sure if it is exactly the same product, but 3M makes something that does basically the same thing and it can be painted too: "3M Flexible Strip Caulk" and I know that Eastwood carries it-- http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=1621&itemType=PRODUCT Does this look like what you are talking about? Davy
  6. Very good price on that. If I didn't already have a car, I'd drive up there and pick it up!!! Great details too about everything someone can think of--I know this should sell quickly. Davy
  7. Welcome to the forum. Your project looks interesting by the looks of the car you bought. It is a unibody, so I do hope there is minimal rust in the frame rails. You'll need an R200 from 280Z or an R200 VLSD from an Infinity Q45 if you plan on keeping the independent suspension in the rear. Just do a search (search function near the top of the screen) for R200 and Q45 to get the info---there's tons of it. JCI (John's Cars) for the LS1 kit, JTR (Jags That Run) for the headers and other stuff like radiator install kits, etc. Use the search function to glean all that crazy info, then cut & paste to an MS Word document to read later. Good luck with your project. Many guys have hyperlinks in their signatures--just click each one until you find some that come close. LSx pages are pretty scarce though. But here is one: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2505791/1 Davy
  8. Don't pressure wash the top end of the motor or the electrics--not a good idea. I have used engine cleaner/degreaser, but like Cozy said, Simple Green works pretty well too. If the engine is caked with gunk or old crusty dirt mixed with oil and grease, you can use oven cleaner on the steel areas of the motor, but understand you may hurt the painted parts. I used oven cleaner on the used V8 I bought from GM Sports Salvage, just to clean off the 10 year old crud. After spraying and soaking over 3 mil plastic sheeting, I used a putty knife to scrape it all off and then bundled up the mess and tossed it. After that, I used Simple Green to get rid of the rest and then wiped it all down with 3M product before shooting with new paint. Hopefully you just have a little dirt that can be pressure washed off. Davy
  9. I love it when a plan comes together Good to hear the great news!! Wish I could be there with y'all. Davy
  10. AJ, welcome to the forum. I have those Hyundai signals on my car. The install only requires drilling one or two small holes for the screws. There is no "cutting" or Dremel work required at all. In fact, it's one of the simplest and straightforward conversions there is. Again, my car has them installed already. They sit flush and look "factory" without looking "stock." Just my $02. Davy

    Hello

    Admin power... Davy
  12. I'm impressed with the car. Looks super nice from the pictures and the front end looks just plain 'mean.' Super crazy cool drag Z. Davy

    Hello

West, welcome to the forum. You didn't post your city or where you're from so it's a little hard to help there.... That said, Zhadman is selling his 240Z RB project---you may want to search for that and email him. He's already collected parts and has a good foundation. Something to think about. Davy
  14. I hope that sucker runs as good as it looks! Looks like the business and that Demon carb--ashame you have to put an air filter on such a beautiful thing. Please post the dyno results after tuning it. Davy
  15. Sorry to hear that about your cousin. I hope the families will stick together during this extremely painful time. I need to teach my kids to force a stupid driver like that one to pull over, then break their arms. No way I want my kids killed in an accident like that with some piece of trash at the wheel. Davy
  16. Just think about your rear differential and your transmission not being exactly in line with one another--one is higher or lower than the other. This creates an angle for the driveshaft. Too big of an angle means vibrations. You have to reduce the amount of angle to reduce the vibrations. Also, your driveshaft should be balanced, especially if you changed something. High speed balancing is the best. Does that help? Davy
  17. You started with a nice looking car and even made it better Props to you for getting the job done! Davy
  18. I own the grey one in back. Dang it! I'll win next year; just wait and see Davy
  19. Did you do that yourself??? Looks expensive I like that Z-on-the-ceiling touch; not many will know it's there. Cool. Looks like Alcantera (faux suede?)?? Davy
  20. Great that you do charity work--when will this be? Dates? Davy
  21. Blobber, Nissan made tens of thousands of these cars. In the US, the average time ownership for cars is about 5-7 years or so. Considering the date the car was manufactured, it is highly unlikely it has a traceable history at all unless it was a race car, custom show car, or concours car. I came up with nothing regarding a Google search of the business you mentioned. Good luck. Davy
  22. That's great to hear, Warren. Now I can stop drinking due to the depression I have been in from reading the thread Davy
  23. I would install the one that gives me the most power and still be livable while driving it. I like the first one, just based on looks, but really, it comes down to performance. Davy
  24. Good luck in your new career. Sometimes life just happens and "ya do what ya gotta do." I predict you'll be back in 12 months time with a another Z car Cheers, Davy
