  1. This is what you want, and close to you. http://tinyurl.com/7vd7j8b 2003 Corvette C5 Z06 50th Anniv. Ed. 6 speed 58,000 miles, Selective Ride Control, for only $19,500. I am sure there is some haggle room as well but a hell of a deal. There are plenty of C5's for Around $12,000 though. Much better car than the S2000.
  2. After seeing some of these pics it makes me sad about those cars but happy with mine. Mine still has the doughnut from the factory in it and a beautiful spare tire bay. Also Cabanaboy, I would not worry about weight too much. It is easier to add HP than to strip weight, and cheaper.
  3. Sorry for the late PM but you got one waiting for you with info
  4. I have a 280Z that has a LT1 /4L60E with it that is in great shape very close to you actually. PM me if you are interested in hearing more.
  5. Beautiful work, I really could use some advice if you would be available. I would appreciate it if you are willing. Again, amazing job.
  6. yeah, you have to cut a triangle out of the mount, also you should push the engine back towards the firewall. Also when the engine and trans are pushed up into position then you should have more clearance.
  7. I would be in the Spring, for now the car is apart and getting worked over. I love Boston and would love to drive up there for a meet. I also have some old friends up there I would like to meet up with. If you can get one together for the Spring as well, count me in.
  8. OK, after a lot of work on this car I have decided to take it all apart and start over. I am taking the advice of everyone and doing it right. The 4L60E I will no longer be using. I want to go T56 and figure I should just go ahead and go for that now. So it is for sale and I am in search new a new trans. The engine, I want to go supercharger eventually and a better engine. The LT1 is nice but I am looking into either building or buying a 383 or scrapping that and just going LS series. Not sure what is the best option yet. The suspension and brakes are all coming off and I will be upgrading it all. That will give me time to go ahead and and strip the rest of the body and give it a proper paint job. Basically, I will be redoing the entire car and destroying my bank account, but will be fun. And now that the car is moved to a spot that I can access anytime, I will be able to get more work done.
  9. This project is never done. At first it was going to be just changing the engine out, then a lot of "while I am here" type stuff, now will tear it all apart and start from scratch. It really seems like you should just plan for it all. Save up worse then when you save for an engagement and wedding ring. At this point I will tear it all apart and do a full restore of the body and interior, full suspension and brake upgrade, maybe toss the engine to go with a LS series or build up the LT1 to a 383, and whatever else I decide to do. All of this would have been cheaper if I just decided to do this from the start.
  10. If it is what everyone hinted at on the other thread, then I am happy for you but oohhh sooooo jealous. Anyway, congrats and excited to see what's next.
  11. I do not believe you need to do that. They fit and they fit fine. I doubt your car is much different from the how many that rolled out the plant before and after yours. I installed my headers before i dropped in my engine. Also, I notched the motor mount holes like said in the jtr manual. If the headers hit, then try to slide the engine back a hair more. Also check to see if the engine needs to slide to the other direction a bit as well. It can be done and has been done. I will not be home to take pics of my car until Thursday, but I will then and upload them. In the meantime I will look around my computers for some random pics I may have to clarify what I mean.
  12. Aberdeen Proving Grounds MD is hiring as well. Your kind of work even. Check CPOL.mil or cpol.army.mil, I can't remember which. But on base here we have a shop just like described above. Pretty much every military base has one.
  13. Looking forward to seeing these in person, and to grab your old wheels too. ;p
  14. Wow, beautiful car. Congratulations on the build. Love the color and the wheels on it. Hopefully soon I can be posting up pics like this.
  15. may want to clarify what you have vs looking for. That sentence could be read as you are looking for a Z or that you are looking for a STI.

IDK, just search around the directory, This is the best I can find for now.
