  3. Looking for the complete package or parts of it for my 260z.
  4. Hi, I´m working on a 79 280zx, it is currently in the paintshop but there is no color code on the car. Using the colorchart on xenonz (http://xenonzcar.com/s130/colorchart.html) I think it is: 013 - Regatta Red or 807 - Rallye Red Details about the car: 1979 280zx 2+2 Black interior Hopefully someone can provide me with the right color code
  5. Hello i have a 76 280 with an l28et swap from an 83 zx. recently the car has had a terrible miss in the high rpms once it is fully warmed up. Also the ecu green led blinks 15-20 times in a 10 second period instead of the 5-10 it should (it used to) the car will run WOT on boost up until about ~3750rpm then it just misses. I did the resistance tests on the air flow meter, chts, and air temperature sensor and they all passed. replaced the o2 this morning and id still runs badly. the car also hates to cold start. u have to crank and crank forever.
  6. I'm looking for a complete 79-81 280zx distributor and base mount. If you don't have a distributor and only have the base I will buy that by itself. Let me know what you got thanks.
  7. Looking for a good condition 15/16" Master Cylinder to power dual-piston 4x4 Toyota brakes up front and don't want to go the Wilwood route. Would prefer to not rebuild but not a big deal for the right price. Thanks HybridZ!
  8. Hello Hybrid Z I own an 83' 280zx with a 2jz vvti, its going through a restoration now, I have most parts for the restoration, just missing on suspensions and wheels and it would be done. I was going to go with the techno toy tuning front coil kit and s13 for the rear, but a friend of mine, told me about accuair, and I kinda kept thinking about them, they looked cool and the idea grew on me. I contacted accuair and they said they don't have a kit for a 280zx just 300zx (90's) and s14. I saw two people with 280zx accuairs, but unfortunately they didn't reply to me when I asked them how they did it, so I thought I would get help from here, maybe someone knows who did this build or not. I'm wondering if I get s14 kit the rear would be bolt on, just worried about the front , and I dont know if this would be of relevance but i'll go with watanabe F 16 x 8.5 -5 R 16 x 9.0 -13 . I also thought of going through the the techno toy suspensions and s13/14 then change the springs to bags maybe..? Thank you
  9. I am looking for a cheap, running and driving v8 swapped Z. It can be ugly but I do not have the equipment to do a swap. I have the skills and equipment to give it some TLC such as suspension and paint. A decent interior would be nice. I am young and broke, but will take good care of it.
  10. Hello Today I will be posting about my project that I am currently working on at the moment. The car is a 1983 280zx Turbo, I will be attempting to put a engine from a 1985 302 ford mustang 5.0L & transmission in the Z, The engine is upgraded with a Holley 850 double pumper & I also am going to try to save the turbo off the 280zx engine and adapt it with a mod if I can maybe upgrade it so it has better airflow? A few rough steps that ill be working on will be consistent of : 1. Rebuilding my 302 engine with a kit I found. 2. Rebuilding my transmission with another kit I found. 3. Gutting a ripping out everything in the engine bay that I don't need. 4. removing old transmission. 5. removing old electric fuel pump 6. Removing old exhaust system & replace single with double (Not sure where to get it from tho) 7. Installing new fuel pump & regulator 8. Figuring out where the mounts need to go to hold the transmission 9. welding new mounts for transmission 10. Figuring out where the mounts need to go to hold the V8 engine 11. welding the new mounts on for the engine 12. Replace old shocks with new ones (Before the heavy engine & transmission is mounted) 13. replacing old brake pads with new ones 14. Sanding down body and engine bay (Getting it ready for new paint job) 15. Painting the body with a new paint job 16. removing & Installing new ECU that will control the 302 17. Installing rebuilt Transmission and bolting to new welded mounts 18. Lowering V8 302 engine into the car and bolting it into place to newly welded engine mounts 19. reconnect ecu and other wires needed 20. connect the new fuel line 21. connecting the ignition "Please feel free to comment what I might need to add to my to do list to complete my project " Links to Items I will be using: 302 Engine Rebuild Kit: http://www.summitrac...WxWIaAiyg8P8HAQ Transmission Rebuild Kit: http://www.latemodel...zD6JxoCCCDw_wcB Turbo: The 280ZX turbo is a T-3 so I can upgrade it ECU: http://www.automotix...AuecaAmCA8P8HAQ Fuel Injector Kit: http://www.buyautopa..._vuUaAkYJ8P8HAQ Fuel Pump: http://www.summitrac...ts/hly-12-801-1 Fuel regulator: http://www.protuning...&id=56128534817 Shocks: http://www.ebay.com/...eb6e542&vxp=mtr Brakes: http://www.cquence.n...OhAYaAqef8P8HAQ Clutch: The 280zx has a stage 3 clutch and i'm not sure if I can use it on the 302 but id like to. 12. Hello All I need a good 3 pulley harmonic balancer for a L28. Anyone have one they don't need?
  13. I've searched what seems like every website and forum looking for the model #s for the gears in the fs5w71b tranny with no luck. I've found some exploded diagrams but even those don't have any identifying numbers. Anyone able to help me with this? TIA
  14. Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a 280zx with a L28et turbo engine. Would like to buy as complete as possible, Post or PM what you have w/ details, price etc. Trying to find a donor car that runs but isn't very nice for the outside, really just need the engine. I'm swapping it over to my '78 280z. Preferably manual, unless its possible to bolt my current stock 5 speed transmission to the other engine w/o problems. Thanks.
  15. So my 1983 280ZX 2+2 is having cold start issues. when i turn it on it idles up real high like 900-1000rpm and if i touch nothing after a few seconds the rpms drop and it stalls out. If i crank it and pump the gas it will stay on and not stall out but if i just floor the pedal instead of pumping it it will stall out also the is a quiet backfire that sounds like it comes from the engine area. The reason im calling this a cold star issue is because if i pump the gas long enough for the motor to warm up to running temp i can let go of the gas and it will idle fine at 800-900rpms it revs smooths and sounds good.
  16. Looking for a fiberglass sides, aluminum blade Kaminari 3-Piece Wing. Anyone have a line? Pretty much at your price! Thanks.
  17. Looking for mounts and housings at least for Fender Mirrors. Original equipment on Fairlady, 1979-1983. Thanks.
  18. Hi, I'm looking at a driveshaft I found and based on the pictures it looks like a T5 driveshaft that's been cut and shortened on one end. To my knowledge, they're the only ones that neck down at both ends, but this one only has that at one. It also has the square diff flange and seems to have a 26 spline tailshaft yoke based on the blurry picture I got. Can anyone tell me for sure that it is/isn't? Thanks.
  19. I'm rebuilding an l28et and noticed this injector looks off. At least the cap is missing, maybe more. Is it toast? I can't find anything to reference what it should look like without the cap. Thanks in advance. And a different injector for reference:
  20. I am building a turbo L28 engine stroked and bored to 3.1 litres with an upgraded turbo. I have the 1983 CAS dizzy driving my Microtech ECU and Igniter box. I don't have the wiring harness for the dizzy that has the Green, black, red, white wires from the dizz going to Gr/Ye, Black, Bl/Wh, Gr/Bl wires in the EFI harness. I have read every post on this and there are some that describe the connections that correspond on the dizz end to the colours BUT there isn't one that correlates with another, in other words there are CONFLICTING posts. So I really need to get the correct way round. Here are the options I have seen. Looking at the dizzy four spade male connector box with the screw hole for fastening the harness on the top left corner.(see pic): One post says starting at top left going clockwise: Red, Green, Black, white. Second post says (same rotation) : Green, Red, Black, White. Also, if I am reading the FSM correctly it agrees with post one above. Can anyone Please help and confirm which is correct? Many thanks guys. Andy
  21. I'm looking for a 280ZXT manual transmission crossmember. Looks similar to the normal 280ZX transmission crossmember but I think it bumps out a little horizontally instead of just being the straight U shape.
  22. Hello everyone, I recently took the engine out of my 280ZX to repaint the engine bay and replace some parts on the engine. I have the engine placed back in the car and the starter is working. It sounds like it wants to start when I put starter fluid in throttle body and I am getting fuel pressure before the pressure regulator on the fuel rail. I am not getting any fuel pressure on the other side though. Is there anything I can do or do I have to just replace the regulator.
  23. Hey guys, I'm in the process of putting my head back together and it seems along the way I lost a washer. It's the inner valve seat washer that sits on the lip below the valve stem seal. There's a larger washer that sits down underneath it. I haven't been able to find them online anywhere so I'm trying here. Hopefully someone has one. - Brandon

  25. Hey Zers! Well its come time to turn my stroker 280zx into a stroker turbo..right now i have 10:1 CR. I plan to install forged J.E Dished pistons and a 2.5mm HG. this should bring my comp down to a low enough leval to turbo charge.my biggest concern is going with an aftermarket EFI..im running tripple 44 mikunis right now.im thinking of using the N42 non-EGR intake manifold and a 70mm TB.greedy boost controller.Megasquirt 2,MSD 6-2.t3/t4 turbo,720cc injectors.blow off valve/waste gate etc..im wondering what sensors are needed to use megasquirt for my fuel control only.am i able to use MS for fuel only and use MSD 6 for my spark control? if this works, can someone please give me a short write up as to how to go about setting this up.im pretty new to EFI as i grew up with carbs (and im 21). Please, any insight on this would be great. P.S- I plan to run 17-20lb boost MAX! thanks~ Randall
