Hello! Looking for an N42, P90 or running l28et around Washington State. For an engine of same value; I have nearly a full LM7/CD009 swap, has a tune just starts and dies, r180/r200 1310 adapters (including new driveshaft and dirty Dingo engine mounts), decided to go back to the L28 instead (or another one of the other engines listed), more info if requested.

Alright gang. Stupid question amnesty time, but I want to be sure before I eat a cam up. I have a "C" stamped cam on a N42 head. It looks like the cam has the holes for the internal oiling. I just want to verify that I do not need to run a spray bar. From the info I can find around here, it's difficult to tell how the N42s and 260 cams were lubricated. Thanks guys.

My E31 was seemingly machined by a one eyed chimpanzee and was cut too thin in the rear and below minimum thickness, as well as having a substantial crack in it, which is filling my cylinders with coolant. I' Badly in need of a new head. Located in Carlsbad/San Marcos area, Southern California. Any help or advice is much appreciated. Thank you very much!

So you may have seen my build thread. I am converting my N/A L28 to turbo using the stock N42/N42 motor with a 2mm HKS head gasket and a compression ratio of 7.65:1. Upon my research I have found that finding the exact turbo for this build is alot harder than I though. And requires some pretty good knowledge of how turbos work, compressor maps etc.. I've done some searching here and there but havent seen anyone doing my setup so far with the N42 combo with the 2mm gasket. Feel free to chime in and I'm curios to know what turbos you guys are running, and also if you have some helpful advice to steer me in the right direction that would be very helpful as well. I will continue my research either way. Here is what my goals are: Full spool by 3k-4k rpms. 300whp capable. 500-900 dollar price range (preferably around 700-800 if possible) These are the things I can think of at the moment, I am probably forgetting something. but a 3-4k spool seems like the best for the rpm range of this build (6500). Feel free to chime in with any advice, criticism, or whatever you'd like! I am wanting to learn, and wanting to make sure my setup is right the first time. Like I said earlier I will continue this research but I figured I'd put this post out here so I can see what people have to say. Shameless build plug >Click Me<

I am currently building my motor on my 280z, and I was looking at having the head chambers welded up. The issue I have ran into is everyone wants big money to perform this service. I was was wondering what everyone's opinion was on if should even weld the chambers, or if someone has a reasonable source to have this service done. My current build list is as follows: N42 Block N42 Head / Ported & Unshrouded .030" over ITM Flat-top pistons 280z rods w/ ARP rod bolts ARP main studs ARP head studs Triple Weber 45 DCOEs with Cannon intake Advance Distributors re-curved 280zx distributor w/ E12-80 ignition module Schneider factory cam regrind 284-92F grind Intake Duration (gross): 284 Exhaust Duration (gross): 292 Intake Duration (.050”): 236 Exhaust Duration (.050”): 244 Intake Valve Lift*: .488" Exhaust Valve Lift*: .504" Lobe Separation: 107 Intake Valve Lash: .010" Exhaust Valve Lash: .012" RPM Range: 3250-7250

I am starting to plan my engine build and would like some input on my initial parts selection/configuration I am thinking. I have two N42/N42 engines to pick from. My thoughts are as follows: Block Cleaned, bored, honed, new freeze plugs, ARP main bolts, ITM flat top pistons .30" ovesize (already purchased) Head Surface, valves unshrouded, mild porting. (*considering trying to weld up the chambers with a MIG spool gun) Cam (Either a Schneider 284-92F or a 290F) ARP Head bolts Felpro Head Gasket Fuel MSA triple Webers 45mm Ignition Considering a MSD Street Fire ignition box or 6AL Considering also some kind of modified distributor or Mallory Unilite distributor to control advance,

I have a stock drivetrain. For transmission I'm thinking a OS-Giken Super Single Clutch. Is there a difference between the NS081-AB8 and the NS081-AA8? For the engine, I want to bore the engine out to 3.0 or 3.1 L. But I don't know if the N42 block will be able to withstand the HP. Me questions is- Are the upgrades I want to do, to my N42 Block/Head which is only at 90K miles, going to be ok?

I am looking for a N42, non-EGR intake manifold. If you have one that is shaved already, or modified for cable linkage, I would be interested in those options as well. Thanks!
