  1. excellent. I thought scotch brite would not be enough. does the etch primer have to be primered with filler type after? thanks for the help. last thing I want to do is ruin a new set of wheels
  2. SEX ON WHEELS!!! 9 Months? Did you sleep?
  3. most builds depend on your skill level. no doubt a single turbo is easier to build and tune If this is your first turbo build keep it as simple as posible use parts thet are easily found in multiples and inexpensively because you will probably brake a few before you get it dependable. However inexpensive and cheap have 2 different meanings. quality over cost within reason is always a better buy. under a 10.9 should be easy to without a turbo if the motor is built and Tuned correctly.
  4. that is what I was thinking too. I would take a chance of messing up the rest of the rim. So I called a couple chrome platers today. They all said the same thing. Just scotch brite or wet sand the part to be painted and paint. No need to remove the chrome. After I do this I will post some pics and let you all know how it turns out.
  5. thanks Mario I thought about that. but I don't want to remove all the chrome. Just prep the chrome in the centers. i want to keep the chrome rim.
  6. OK. so I ordered some new wheels. got them from AERO racing off there overstock sheet. very nice price. 4 @ 15x10 = $260 shipped. I want to paint the centers to match the accent color on my car, but I need to know the best way to prep the chrome so the paint does not flake off. I know that sand blasting will probably work but was wondering if there is something better or easier to go about this. so, what do you think? better yet. What do you know works? thanks in advance on your input.
  7. I did exactly what you are suggesting. I soldered the connectionsin just for piece of mind sake. no spade connectors. I did mine shortly after I went msII. 1 day I was giving it hell and the link broke and made a few bad arcs and fried a power lead on the msII board. took a while to figure it out. my old fuse links looked good. but they were not making a good connection all the time. sure was alot harder to fix the ms than to replace the fuse links. I have had no problems since. It is a tight squeeze but they will fit under the stock cover. Do It. before it does you. peace
  8. Anyone Got A Set? I Need A Set And A Set Of Rotors. If You Got And Want To Sell Let Me Know. Thanks. Tc
  9. WOW! alot of work but looks great! now. how much of a spacer will I need to fill ZG"s probably too much.?
  10. I have a totally different intercooler but still enters on 1 side and exits on the other. 2.5 id piping and I had to go electric. I am glad I did. I'm running msII and the fan is controllable now. very coool. in more ways than 1. peace.
  11. Looks like the cops agree with Me. STAY HOME! YOUR HOME! funny thing is; I was there all WEEKEND and didn't get pulled 1 time. even with loud pipes, no mirrors, extra wide tires, etc.. Must be the local tag.?? LOCALS ONLY!!!
  12. WiginOut: those look awesome! especially the color with your paint. datman: what size tires you runnin?
  13. I would like the wheel covers. always liked that style. and the steering wheel if it is not torn up.
  14. I have made litterally thousands of passes on the Gap in the last 18 years, and it is only getting WORSE! So many Idiots from Florida, Indiana, Canada etc. are coming here to "SLAY THE DRAGON" and lots of them are going home in body bags. Doesn't concern me none as long as they GO HOME! everywhere you look up there, soda cans and bottles, candy wrappers, chip bags, graffiti. PIGS! Last year I was riding with my "Band of Idiots" buddies. Most of us have rode for a living at 1 time or another. I rode for Suzuki. but anyway, we were flying through there nose to tail, about 6 of us. I was in 2nd and planning my move, cranked over on my right knee when all of a sudden I lost the front tire, then regained and lost the rear. Ended right side up "THANK GOD" in the ditch. My buddies help me out and we all discuss. While looking the bike over I noticed chocolate on the front tire. not poop! real chocolate. Check the rear, a full king size Snickers and wrapper stuck/smeared to the rear tire. Now I realize this could happen anywhere, anytime. But with all the Wanna bees up here lately... I mean really, don't they have curvy roads where you live. and if not, why do we "locals" have to put up with outsiders ruining our back yard stomping ground.? I have ridden over 20 race tracks in North America alone and none of them are as demanding as the Gap. Race tracks don't have blind curves, traffic, fallin tree limbs, gravel, deer, bear, hunting dogs. etc. just wide open track. If you go down at the track, you slide to a stop, pic up your ride and go again. If you wreck at the Gap and don't fly off the face of the earth. You are lucky. Basically, If you come here. Come with respect. and bring your "A" game. And if you don't have 1. STAY HOME!!! I would like to add that I am in no way pointing the finger at anyone or group of people. Just don't like all the publicity, especially the bad. also: If my words are too harsh for you than the "Dragon" most certainly is.
  15. I guess I am spoiled. I cross it 2 times every weekend. I remember when no one was up there. Now all the publiscity and web photo people bringing all the fuzz. Hard to enjoy it like I used too. I still get out on some mid week church evenings and tear it up. After seeing your 2+2 makes me want to get to work on mine. looks great! Oh yeah. those black cars sole purpose is to bust people speeding and hot rodding. They live for it.
  16. when I was a kid with my first car I did this. made everything myself. it was very cool and I used it alot. never had any problems but maybe if your car was not in the best tune with no or very little muffler it could maybe burn a valve or something? my car was all jacked up {that was the trend then} and 1 time this car was riding my butt. every time I changed lanes he would change and ride me again. Like you say the flames would shoot 10 or more feet out the pipe. So the next light I stopped at, this guy was all up in my a** so I reved it up real good so to dump alot of raw gas in the pipe and hit the switch. a couple times. Can't remember what kind of car he had but it was a plastic bumper car. when I pulled away I looked in the rear view. his car was solid smoking black soot. He didn't ride so close after that. in fact, I never seen the car move away from the light. I thought it was funny then. peace
  17. hey dragonfly, you got a part # and a source for the studds? also will they fit the front also? peace
  18. what engine are you running? i know that some gm v8 had 2 different water pumps. they look identicle on the outside but the impeller is made right or left. meaning that maybe your pump is actually spinning backwards. I have seen this once. maybe. peace
  19. AWESOME! Paint is perfect! And those Sportmax wheels SEXXXYYYY! Excellent job!!
  20. I have a set of Tenzo R seats that are exactly the same as the 1's you bought. I used the factory brackets and a little work and they bolted right up. only thing is. I am 5'9" so for me they are great but they did raise the seat height about an inch. You could make some custom brackets very easily and get rid of the sliders, ie fixed mounting position and they would be about as low as the oe seats or 1/2" lower. good luck peace
  21. I would stay away from the Kumho tires. A friend of mine got a full set and within 6 months 2 of them were cracked along the tread to sidewall area. Made his Lexus suv bounce and ride like a wooden wagon. took them back and the store and they contacted Kumho and was told. "What do you expect from a $100 20" tire. No Warranty. Word to the wise. Spend the extra money now while you are still alive to do so. peace
  22. COOL IDEA. But what about side impact? doesn't look too safe. Imo. Nice to see something different tho. I am so over the "Lambo" doors. they only look good on a Lambo.Imo sorry death69 I mean I can think of alot of beter things to buy with $1300. I know a couple people with the lambo doors on other cars and the doors are plain Heavy! and in your way when your getting in and out. I was thinking that maybe Walmart is behind this new door design so they can cram in a few more parking spaces. lol
  23. SWEEEEET!! looks great! you will be very pleased with the ride and the increased handling. An alignment is in order though.
