  3. That would explain things, just seems such a large differences:) (in consideration to all the cv and modded cv's that have toated for others) Maybe he illuminate to how he can do this so quickly and then stand the car up off the line?
  4. Years back on my 82 I was having problems getting my stock one on. I used a breaker bar a heard a pop. Figured it was off the woodrift key a smidgen and finally aligned. Months later after even a high speed trip through Montana, avg. 100mph, cam to find out that it had cracked an triangle section section, luckily it stayed in place the whole time. Could not figure out where my oil leak was coming from. Sorry about your damage to a new part, at least your making lemonade out of lemons!
  5. Do you have an electric fan? Also when cleaning stuff, pull and clean both sensors on the thermastat housing.
  6. This is HYYBRIDz. So its all cool. What you have available to you, including knowledge, will be your best guide and most cost effective. Your goals are for torque and hp, not all goals are the same here. Just remember when posting. Also, I love the l28, however, when said and done I'm thinking of a different plant as well.

  10. about what amount of torque do the halfshaft u joints satrt to say goodbye? (or break) or is this not the right spot? nice 280zx there datsun280zx Thomas I can not give you an exact amount. Mostly it depends on what you are going to do. If you run slicks on a prepped track with a tranny lock, not much. Use them till they break and post it;)

  12. I like that Idea on your paint scheme! Not being a push over is a good thing. Just remember, with great power comes great responsibility. Use your new found power wisely. Best example, if you stand on "that hill" and later found out your wrong, then with great humility, even if the that guy was a jerk, humbly apologize. << That is one of the hardest things to do, some call it sallowing your pride.

  14. There is a special style of channel locks called stud remover. It will ethier shear it or remove it. I desperate, once sheared rtv really good, both sides of the gasket, put part on finger tight, let sit for couple hours, then tighten. Wait 24hrs before adding coolent.
  15. OK, I will say he is right. You are a younger fellow with a lot of gumption. I personally admire that. You have modded a rim to fit your application, cool Without signing a waver, I would be hesitant to do business with you. Why?.... 80mph, loss of life and limb, not only of you but others. Not dogging you here, just stating they do not already know how you have persevered though HybridZ scrutiny.
  16. I have found that freeway driving, esp. with the ruts around here, make the car feel very loose, with different sizes.
  17. That sounds like exactly like the gasket I recieved for my 82zx. Felt kinda like a wet suit. The rasied part seemed to be RTV inbedded in to the gasket. Conpared to what I took off, seemed very nice. The engine is in my garage, some day I will pull the head and see how it did and how easy/difficult it will be to remove.
  18. As a rule of thumb, I don't let others drive my car, and I don't drive others. In the navy I found that most wreaks, big ones too, were the result of borrowed cars. Since driving is dangerous as is, I did not consider the risk acceptable.
