  1. Got to play with my wifes toy while suffering with head cold. Pretty cool! Mongo Zpatch_0001.wmv
  2. I believe you are working from the wrong end of the trany. Start removing parts at the other end of the main shaft. remove the large nut and 5th gear parts, once all of that has been removed you can slide the main shaft and cluster gear out of the center section brgs and the disassemble the entire gear stack. At that point you have access to all parts of the trany. I would replace all bearings and synchros as needed, using aftermarket brgs from a bearing supply house, as they will much cheaper than factory parts. You should invest in a factory service manual for these kinds of repairs unless you are very experienced. My $.02 Mongo
  3. a better explaination of the problem would be helpful. post some pics if necessary. Mongo
  4. More info please. Year. engine, trany, etc. Mongo
  5. Tony. I am really beginning to like you and your way of thinking! LOL Mongo
  6. Hows it going Ryan? I don't know if it functions any better at that position, but I do think it looks a little better there. Without a rear bumper, it really seems to hang to far to the rear. One disadvantage is that the hatch button is not accessable in this position. I will just make a simple latch extention to remedy this. PR280z, The mirrors are off of a 1982 Suzuki GS1100GK touring bike. They will be very hard to replace if lost or damaged.
  7. Got some new equipment to install, a "Whale Tail" and a new "Fuel Safe" fuel cell. This cell is legal for any sanctioning body in the country. and is required for the events I hope to run. The fuel cell is has a 15 gal. capacity and has a sending unit installed. I picked it up at the factory in Redmond, Oregon. The staff there were very helpful and I would highly recommend them and there products. I was not to sure if I liked the look of the whale tail at first, but the more I look at it, the better I like it. Here are some pics.
  8. Be aware that the tank you listed will not be legal for use in many sanctioned events. mongo
  9. You the list stroke but not the rod length.?
  10. You might also look for a half-shaft from a 240Z,260Z,510, or 610. mongo
  11. Hoov100, I get the feeling you have not spent much time behind the wheel of a RHD vehicle. If you fall back enough to see around the offending truck, You do not have enough room to pass unless it is a very long straight. It is my feeling that any time spent in the oncoming traffic lane, without an escape route, is a risk that increases with the time spent in the oncoming lane. But hey, it's your life.(and of course anyone else you may kill) Mongo
  12. I'm with ModernS30, I don't recall ever seeing a mailman pass anything. I have a RHD 510 to drive, and I feel it is quite dangerous when passing trucks on the 2 lane. Cars you can generally see thru, but trucks leave you blind. My $.02 Mongo
  13. I'd go with the Camaro radiator, that way your all set for that V8 swap you know you want to do! Mongo
  14. Have great BD Paul. You earned it. Not many can rack up that many miles and only look 50-60ish. LOL Mongo
  15. Possible leak from the brake booster. Mongo
  16. I may have to go to this. I want to try out a .50 cal sniper rifle. http://www.wesknodelgunshows.com/pages/events.html Mongo
  17. How did it break? What are you running? I thought cv axles were not likely to break? Mongo
  18. It would seem that you need to O-haul the trany. Mongo
  19. Hey,you better clarify that!! LOL! Mongo
  20. Where are the mounting holes in the flange? Looks like the nuts were loose and allowed the fan to hit the radiator and then broke the flange. Mongo
  21. Bob, plastigauge is not the most accurate means of measuring a crank journal. Any oil, dirt, or contact of any kind in any other journals is going to give you a false reading. Don't get me wrong, I use it and rely on it for approximations. For real accuracy you need a good Mic. With the #'s you gave I would have no qualms at all by using the crank as is. But hey, that,s just me. FWIW, $.02? Mongo
