  1. the rods are balanced at both ends. It will take a special scale to balance them correctly. Big ends are matched, small ends are matched, Total wieght is matched. This is not something that can generally be done at home. Mongo
  2. Hey Guy's, is there a gasket or somthing that goes between the Sugar Scoop and the Fender to fill the slight gap? I could find nothing using search. Thanks, Mongo
  3. I ordered staggered set 17x9" and 17x9.5", in Royal Black on Monday, they will be delivered tomorrow!! woohoo!! Mongo Wednesday. They were delivered today, they look great! Tires are on the way! Mongo
  4. Did you swap the ring gear or the carrier? Ring gear is matched to the pinion. You do not want to change just the ring gear. Mongo
  5. Brake rubber parts and carb cleaner are not compatable!! Rubber will swell causing failure!!! I think you should start looking for a new master or a kit to rebuild. Sorry for bad news. Mongo
  6. Was there metal shavings on the magnet when you pulled it apart the last time?(assuming you cleaned the magnet when you took it apart the first time) If there was metal, you may have destroyed the R&P. Get someone with experiance to take a look at it. For what it's worth, A diff is kind of an advanced project for a novice. Mongo
  7. Sounds like you are talking about the alignment dowels. There should be one in the block, but not the trany. Remove the one in the trany. Mongo

  12. Here is the link to the rear suspension build. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/91914-rocker-arm-rear-suspension/ After running the engine for 30 mins. or so I have decided that the gear drive has got to go. It makes a ton of noise and I can't live with it. Fortunatly I have a new Comp Cams double roller timing chain in the toolbox. Another delay! 8-(
  13. Is this a new problem? Lack of fuel or plugged exhaust will cause these symptoms. Mongo
  14. FWIW, I have found that any machine that claims to do it all, will not do any of them well. Mongo
  15. Thanks for kudos fella's. I will keep you posted on progress! Mongo(John)
  16. I finished up the prototype of the rear suspension and I will be installing it in the next couple of days. It will bolt to the floor behind the passengers and will be accessable and adjustable thru the hatch. The upper arms have been changed from my original design. They are adjustable for length, pivot height and camber settings. The shocks have an adjustable lower mount as well as an adjustable moment arm length. The shocks are double adjustable, and the spring has an adjustable preload. If you take a look you will see that all rough adjustments are done by moving locating points and fine adjustments are done by adjusting the Heim Joints. There are serveral things I will be looking at to improve as I develop this system and I will probably be adding an adjustable sway bar in the future. This setup is fairly heavy at a total of 80#. It will be substantially lighter when it is fully developed. It has been built with extreme reliability and adjustability in mind. Once the final dimensions are worked out the arms will be redesigned with weight savings in mind. I believe I can reduce the final weight buy 25-30#. This will put it at a weight gain over stock of 20-30#. The last few pics are of the complete suspension with the old design arms. They should help give you an overall picture of how it goes together. Any way, here it is. I have added some pics with it installed in the car. More pics to follow as assembly progress's Mongo
  17. Cool, It has a z rear suspension! John
  18. Drive shaft flange, new, $40 plus shipping. Mongo
  19. Logan, I hope to run 8-1/2" fronts, 9-1/2" rear wheels. I have been busy on the rear suspension build. I have been building parts and hope to have the assembly in the car in a week or so. I realized that I have not been calling this by its correct name,as the rear suspension is a rocker arm set-up and not a simple double a-arm set-up. Here are some of the latest parts from my work bench. The first pics are of the rocker arms and the upper Heim joint. Do not be fooled buy the look of this rocker set as the Heim is massive!! It is a 1-1/4 in Heim that is designed to use a 1" through bolt. It probably way over size, but this is to be a street driven car and I don't want any failures. The second set of pics are of the rocker length nut plates and show there details. More pics will follow later in the week as more parts are fabbed up. Mongo
  20. you have to remove the rockers before you remove the cam. Pry them off with a screwdriver or something. post a pic of the valve adjuster causing problem. Mongo
  21. With 2 plugs black and sooty I would be looking at bad injectors.
