  1. I was thinking that this was what you were talking about when you said "slotting." I have the engerguy suspension bushing but, have yet to install them. I may hold off until someone installs the Motorsport bushings and can report if they work or not. I really would like to do something with the lack of adjustment for the rear tires. As it is my tires are cambered in to much but, when at the track I'm sure it gets all messed up when I launch.
  2. Are you talking about slotting the crossmember something like this? Not sure if the pic will show up but, heres the link. http://www.stillen.com/sportscars_detail.asp?cat=5&subcat=&id=2140&page=1 I know these were designed for the front but, couldn't something like this be done in the rear?
  3. Thats looks sweet!!! Keeps us updated on the swing valve. Will it only open in a higher gear when there is more exhasut engergy? Or is it dependent on a boost pressure setting? Details, Details.. Please
  4. I suddenly feel a bit better about some of my mishaps. I've certainly had my share aswell. If I even slightly make a motion as if I've been hurt by something my wife says"ARE YOU OK?" as if I've just chopped my head off and I'm walking around looking for it.
  5. Really I wondered that exact same thing about this kit. Let us know what you find out.
  6. Love the way that engine sit in the engine bay. Nice and low. Looking good!!
  7. Honestly my block is less than perfectly flat. Also the metal HG doesn't have all the water passage holes then it needs for the P-90. I think with these two things combined it caused a leak. At the time I changed it out I needed a running relieable car or else I would have cut the holes in the HG and tried it again. By the way if you do cut the holes in the HG be careful with it. I destroyed mine after the fact while tring to cut the holes in the metal HG.
  8. A ported stock manifold will get you well into the 400 HP range.
  9. I'm running the stock gasket and just have the head decked. When I first did my motor I had a metal HG on and it leaked right of the bat. I then went to a cheapy gasket and it did fine till I got alittle to crazy at the track. I'm now running a stock HG with ARP studs and it's help up to 19 psi with no proublem. If both your head and block are straight you shouldn't have any proublems with it unless you run into detionation but, then you would have bigger issues to worry about. Get the ARP studs they are a nice addition to any motor.
  10. Whats he going to do for the pistons and stuff? Sounds like you already got a good combo cooking up. You might hit James up for one of his awesome intake manifolds. Also makes sure to have the exhaust manifold ported out or use a header if money is not a concern.
  11. Handtools=Craftsman --Been very happy with them. Drill=Dewalt. Love it tons of torque Saws-All= Dewalt Love this one too. I used to have the HF model that I had bought on sale but, after a few years of use and abuse it finally died. Grinder= Don't know what brand it is. Gift from Mother-in-Law Electric Die Grinder=Craftsman. Works much better than the air powered models. Compressor/Air tools-Most of what I have is crap but, gets the job done. I do have a craftsman 3/8 drive air wrench that I like. Lots of different hammers and missalanious stuff that I have bought from Harbor Freight. I want one of the Presses from Harbor Freight but, still haven't gotten around to justifing it yet to my wife.
  12. I used the stock mouting equipment and everthing bolted up fine. How come you couldn't?
  13. Mike, I sent you an e-mail with a pic of what it should look like. Sorry but, I don't have it uploaded anywhere yet so I couldn't post it.
  14. It's a good swap I did the same thing about 3 months ago.
  15. Mines in the sig at the bottom. Like the other guys I haven't done much to it in awhile other than an update on the first page.
  16. As you prgress in power the almighty "5.0" will be an also ran but, no real contender unless it's had more then a few mods. Soon they won't even be real competion.
  17. The 81 turbo had a slightlystiffer suspension than the N/A's. 82 and 83 had the same setup both turbo and non turbo.
  18. 5 psi of boost spike is alot. Look into your boost controller and or intercooler set up.
  19. I tell Ya I've done and made decent power without any headgasket issues. Technically speaking I wouldn't recommend it.
