  1. Garbage in. Garbage out. I'd pretty much only trust the piping. Wouldn't it suck to blow up your motor due to buying this kit, "Cause it's cheap"? Piece the kit together yourself. You'll save money, and have actual QUALITY. And something that fits!
  2. Yep, that's where my "uses a special braided hose" comment comes into play The crankcase vent IS slightly larger than the PCV valve. The Nissan hose is pre bent, and has the correct sized openings.
  3. That's pretty awesome! So it sounds like this is going to be a dedicated race car? Cool!
  4. Yep, that hose connects from the area in your picture, to the middle of the intake manifold balance tube (where the PCV is located) There's a special braided hose that fits there.
  5. Be patient. It's unfortunate, and your friend's communication skills could definitely be better...But, for starters, as a body guy myself, three months to fix the body of a car, especially with rust, is NOT a long time. Good welding takes time. So does good body work. I understand the desire to drive the car, but unless you are doing the work yourself, you are unfortunately beholden to the schedules of others. I quickly learned that if I wanted the job done to MY expectations, I would have to do it myself. It's hard...I know. EDIT: and remember. Your friend is saving you THOUSANDS of dollars by helping you out...A can of bondo and some leftover sandpaper won't nearly pay him back for the time he spends on the car. Don't forget this.
  6. Defintiely interested in fitment as well. I'd buy a set, and make use them as masters for real nice carbon molds. I've been looking for an excuse to do it. Anxiously awaiting pictures
  7. I don't have an answer for the first, but as to your inquiry to what the ground is on the right side of the picture, I'm pretty sure I know what that is. It's been a while since I had my dash out, but I'm pretty sure that's your heater fan motor ground. I'd say 90%+ positive. Someone will surely correct me if I am wrong.
  8. The first thing I did this morning...Haha Unwrapped, still bad lighting, and roughed together. I'm going to buff the button to a nice finish once the clear has a chance to cure fully. Hopefully you get the idea. Personally, I think it's gorgeous. I can't wait to see it in the car. When I got the wheel this morning, I forgot the grab a piece required for assembly, so that picture will come tonight probably. Now I have something to stare at while I'm away from home. Nice!
  9. You could wrap it.. But personally I feel that would be a whole lot of extra effort for not a whole lot of gain. It would take a lot of time though. I'd just buy a carbon wheel if I wanted that. Update: Today was a snow day. So I got to play with my steering wheel. My paint guy failed me, I asked for non metallic, but I think now it may have been a blessing in disguise. The flake seems to mimic/goes well with the carbon on the horn button. After spraying and seeing it in person, I'm a fan. I think it looks beautiful. Here's the base coat Sprayed base on wheel And some clear. Initial spray pictures (no justice given). I CAN'T WAIT to unwrap it all tomorrow and assemble the wheel. More to come. Stay warm all!
  10. Sorry to hear about your Dad, I lost mine two years ago. Very unfortunate. It's great that your keeping his spirit alive in the project though! Welcome, and I look forward to your progress. Best of luck to you and your son!
  11. Man she sounds nice! Love the growl. Such a great car and beyond excellent build! Love reading your updates.
  12. More progress from Christmas break at home. I'm headed back to Rhode Island this afternoon. Here's the initial, not straight at all first coat, driver's side. Bumper back on, without gaping holes under it! More.... Roughed out in primer. Lots more tweaking left to do, but for the moment this will work. This is where I left off. I feel I've gotten a lot accomplished in the short amount of time I have been home. I am now beginning to feel the majority of the HARD work is behind me. Very satisfied. Happy New Year all! Days worked on project: 11 Total money spent to date: $663

  14. Love em. I think they would look great in your car. It all depends if you want it to look a little more subtle. Or if you want to keep the paint matching red accents. Personally, I vote 944 seats.
  15. Definitely dry ice. Works like a charm.
  16. If you weren't 3,000 miles away from me... Damn East Coast strikes again....
  17. Hacked away a little last night. Still lots more to do.... And more progress this morning/today. Some test fitment. Primed I'm not done for the day yet.....More tonight. EDIT: More Rinse and repeat. Driver's side. (note: exhaust tip delete: ) Initial view from the back. I'm not patching anything else, as it is all hidden under the bumper anyway. Also gives me TONS of room for exhaust exits on the drivers side. Once again, I'll finish it in the morning. Tomorrow the bumper can go back on, until paint. Exciting! Days worked on the car: 9 Total money spent to date: $663
  18. Christmas break (10 days off) has given me some time to bang on the 280 a little bit. More cutting.....welding.....grinding but I've made some aesthetic progress. And I still haven't spent any money! Haha Some before shots... And let the patch fest begin. Apologies for the mediocre (even by my standards) picture quality, the light is difficult this time of year, especially at night. And some primer. Still a ways to go before she's ready for Pebble Beach I can't wait until I'm doing mechanical things to the car again! Exhaust is in the future. And oh yeah.... Days Worked on Car: 7 Total money spent on project to date: $663
  19. Awesome! Any engine modifications/pictures? Car looks really sharp now.
  20. Glad to see you're making progress on this. Car is solid!
  21. Take your time with the wiring. EMI/RFI noise is not fun to chase down. extra shielded wire is your friend.
  22. Thanks! Now only if I could decide if I wanted... a gloss black wheel?.... (resprayed with clear) or a sanded/polished metal wheel? (sanded + sprayed with clearcoat) Decisions....decisions.
  23. This is where I am in the process. Still not done yet.... Injector pigtails will be hidden under the fuel rail. But that won't happen til I get home and fire the motor. And here is how I shaved my intake manifold, for those that care. Before I have since added 3 vacuum fittings from when these last pictures were taken. Still a work in progress though.
