  1. mine didn't have one....i bought the brackets from suspenion techniques i think it was...the sway bar goes behind the dif towards the back of the car. it replaces brackets that hold the bar reight behind the dif, and has provisions for the sway bar clamp and bushings. looks like this i think that's dat240zg's pic
  2. reason i ask is the PO cut the inner and outer apart when installing flares....he then used like roofing tar paper to fill the gap and then fiberglassed over it...very rigged....i've been tearin it all the way down and buildin it back up...but that whole time i never noticed any sort of flex....car was still very stiff and the flares never stress cracked from the car flexing....even though i was on her pretty good. thanks you guys
  3. how important to the structure of the car is the inner and outer rear fender connection? it doesn't seem like it plays a big roll but i was just lookin for some input. Bobby
  4. yeah...ryan...he said he was in foco for a bit....
  5. i can only imagine what your z sounds like with open 3" pipe comin off the turbo....as you are WOT merging with traffic on a highway with a 8' cement wall right beside you
  6. i posted that site on here a while back...its the same piece...but for less...xenon will be xenon.
  7. i used to dream that i wrecked my perfect 280zxt...so real that i had to get up and make sure it was outside. then one night i really did roll the car....i kept wanting to wake up from a bad dream...
  8. i am as i am, if i am all i can. if you are all i can, i am as you are...? beats me
  9. here's mine...kinda distorted...3" pipe from turbo back into a 4" tip...motor is bored .080 over..forged, 8:1...stock t3 then...sds http://s33.photobucket.com/albums/d74/bama16/240z/?action=view&current=Zrevving.flv
  10. well...that style borla i posted only comes in the 2.5....the 3" looks just like a regular muffler. so i purchased this one i think i'll be happy...the exhaust is just about complete...just have to wait on the final mandrel bends to come in and rap up from the final turn under the dif and back. finally took the time to make it follow the underside of the car and fit in all the nooks so it tucks up nicely.
  11. i wrote out the whole story...hopefully this will be usefull in a search when someone else is lookin for a fiberglass hood for their z.
  12. sorry....i'm just pissed at their idea of a resolution. i'd expect more from a company to lay claims to customers agreeing that fit and finish is the best with their product...the just basically told me ...sorry we sent out crap...you're gonna have to eat the $160 shipping cost because of it.
  13. here's my story...none if it is fictitious. called unlimited products early in june to order a hood for my 240z. wait time for hood to be made was about 3 weeks. hood was mailed through a company called old dominion...hood arrived with no damage on friday, july 6, 2007. i received the hood while i was on my way out the door, i checked for damage, saw there was none, put it in the garage and headed off to work. later that night i came home and pulled it out...eager to see the fiberglass hood on my car...i pull it outof the box to see this. i called them up to let them know that someone had butchered the hood when it was trimmed off the mold. they told me that they don't receive links to pictures or attachments in their email. i would have to take picturs..have them printed and mail them off, and mailed through USPS. i said ok, took pictures, went to walmart, paid the 3 bux to have a few pix printed off and dropped a letter in with the pics to explain each pic and the problemsi had. i dropped the pics and letter in the mail july 9, 2007. it took two weeks for them to get the pictures, i didn't request it to be certified (foolish, didn't think it would be such a hassle) so i can't blame usps or the company. on july 23, 2007 i call up and they say they have the pictures and the owner has to look over the pictures and this could take another one to two weeks. at this point i'm slightly annoyed but let it go...they say they will call when they come to a decision. monday, july 30, 2007 i call the office again to see if they had a chance to look over the pictures and they say they have, and the resolution offered was to have me ship the hood back with my own money, after they get an invoice for shipping i will get refunded the return shipping, and the price of the hood, but was told i would lose the initial $157 it cost to ship the hood to me. i let them know there is no way i am going to lose ~$160 because of a product they shipped me that was not up to par with the expectations they set in the company credo. i offered to let them make another hood and ship that out...they can create a call tag for the hood, or even pay the shipping company and i will drop the hood off at that location, she said she would have to talk to the manager. i call back today august 1, 2007 to see what the manager said. i was told that they could not ship out another hood and they do not create call tags or pay for return shipping. i gave another reasonable option, they refund me the original shipping cost, the exact same amount they would lose if i were to ship it back, and i would keep the hood....i'm out, their out, we met in the middle. they do not refund shipping cost. i told them that instead of lookin at it was a refund for shipping, look at it as a partial refund for a subpar hood that slipped through their quality control. they don't give refunds on equipment. i was then notified that the only way they were willing to do anything was if i would front another 160 to ship it back. only at that point would they make me another hood, they think this damage could have been caused by me. i then asked what as the point of me sending pictures at all if the problems depicted don't amount to anything affirmative as to the quality of their product. THE OTHER OPTION THEY GAVE ME WAS TO BUY ANOTHER HOOD! everytime i call the manager is out of the office. he will be back tomorrow and i told her to leave him a message saying i would be contacting him tomorrow. its safe to say i will never purchase another product from them.
  14. i ran it out the side fender....no difference in smell....the tip did pick up a lot of road grime and burned itself on and made it ugly.
  15. sandy at jcr is pretty cool....she'll call back...but she seems to be the only one answering the phone....it does take a little while.
  16. they are fairly comparable in price...a few bux difference. i've never heard a borla on a turbo motor...that's the reason i'm torn. i loved the 3" open pipe i had before...but since i moved to denver i thought i should quiet it down just a tad.
  17. if you had to choose between the two on a turbo motor which would it be? both straight through but just in terms of sounds and overall quality. reason i ask is i like the sound of the magnaflow...but really like this borla muffler in the 3"

i did something similar..i had aluminum angle welded to the sides built a box frame, notched the rear frame and welded it in gives it a nice edge to sit on and a good seal.
  19. i went to a website cxracing.com....they have kits with clamps, pipes, couplers...all there stuff is less in their ebay store...check them out...i'm happy wtih the product.
  20. here it was before i trimmed the turbo spacer here it is now...gave it a little more room...i think this will be ok.
  21. i'm mounting my hx35 to my z...i'm startin on the DP and it runs awful close to the steering coupler...like 3/8" away from coupler...it never comes in contact but i'm wondering if heat would be an issue with the poly steering coupler i have.
  22. i think the best size on a 8" wide wheel is 245/45/16...gives a nice sqaure edge...i don't like the stretch or bulged look either. i havea 225/45 on the front and that's a 7" wide wheel.
