Where is the sound coming from? If it's anything like the problem my parent's 280Z had, and it sounds just like it, your ignition switch is bad. Pretty easy to fix.

The paint turned out nice. The wheels however, I don't really care for.

I don't think Nissan has a reason to kill off Infiniti. GM has plenty of reason to kill off Pontiac, Saturn, GMC, etc. They have far too many brands selling essentially the same thing. IMO, anyway.

No big loss IMO. The G8 was cool. That was about it.

Eh, If you find you need bigger wheels, there's always the 15" snowflakes available. I think that would be a much better and easier solution than what you mentioned. I don't think the results would be good if you tried to use the fender roller to push the panel out, instead of just rolling the lips. I say just get bigger wheels if you need to. If you know where to look, it won't be expensive. I realize you're on a budget though. Some used snowflakes with used tires should get you by though.

Good choice. That's one of the colors I'm trying to decide between for when I eventually paint my car.

Numero uno... and here's why. - Not fond of the off center logo - Not fond of the black and white - Not fond of the racing flags - Don't care for the non-faded versions of the line of cars - the 370z looks out of place, that is, it's purely black and white while the others are not (if that makes sense), and doesn't match. I'm wondering if it would look better if you used pictures of colored cars, and not faded or black and white. Just a thought.

Amen, I know exactly what you're talking about... Although I have much less damage to deal with on the car I'm actually keeping... kept... I cut the other up already. And yeah, what really tipped me off was the joint at the bottom, looks kinda like it was TIGed or something. I don't really know, since I'm not an expert but it doesn't look factory. Better than rivets though (guess what my PO used on the now-cut-up car) Anyway, can't wait to see it completed.

Kinda looks like your rear 1/4 has been replaced - that is one ugly joint. I really hope I'm wrong. What blue are you going with? I love blue Datsuns!

Ah, the reverse *CLUNK*. My parent's 280z has that. To my knowledge, you will need a new strap, or front differential mount, but DON'T quote me on that. I think I'm going to go do some research on that myself since I need to fix it soon.

That is member 280zcar's car you have posted if I am not mistaken. There is a thread on this somewhere on the board - search for it, and you should find it easily.

What do you plan on doing with the center section? The one thing I almost always see with custom tail lights that usually ruins them is the panel people use. It's almost always totally flat. That just doesn't work. If you haven't planned on doing so, I advise you to give the center section some shape, where the license plate and whatnot goes. Doesn't have to be fancy, but it needs to be something. If you just vaguely followed the look of the stock tail panels, it would probably be fine. Anyway, thought I'd offer my input since I think those tail lights could look really good if done correctly.

Consider me jealous. Hopefully though by year's end, I'll be able to post similar pictures... I hope.

First, my condolences. As I recall, you're not much older than me. I can't even imagine what I'd do if I lost my father. Very sad to hear that he passed away. 45 years old is too young. Second, congrats on the new member of the family!

I like it! The Datsun fender emblems at least. That's what I am contemplating doing on my 280z. It's between that, or shaving them entirely. I've always thought the 240z fender emblems looked much, much better than the 260z and 280z fender emblems. In my opinion, what I think would look cleaner is if you removed the Tokico sticker and left EITHER the Datsun fender emblem OR the 280z side stripes. Not sure if I like the 280z on the hood, but there's nothing wrong with it, just comes down to personal preference. It reminds me of the muscle cars with "Hemi" or something for example on the hood.
