  1. I have a set of Toga bearings but I haven't got around to using them yet since my current motor is holding up good. Eventually I'm gonna build up my spare motor so I'm interested in hearing some feedback too.
  2. If you go with the ACT clutch you may have to go with a bigger MC to get proper engagement. I'm using the stock MC with the smaller pathfinder slave. The pathfinder slave works with the T5 tranny but not the nissan tranny. I think the adjustable slave would work also.
  3. Spent mine already on home improvement stuff but I'll probably buy a little toy like a profec B.
  4. Standard practice for that level is to use a 3/8" feed line and stock feed line as the return.
  5. I need to order a new SS clutch hose for my car but I'm not sure if I should get one for a 70-78 Z or one for a 280ZX. They are different part numbers. My car is a 240Z with a L28et and T5 tranny. Does anyone know the difference. Is it just the length?
  6. Maybe you can get the plenum volume and runner length and diameter for each intake, crunch the numbers and see which one works out the best for your setup and goals.
  7. I wish I could make it out there this weekend but I've got other things I need to take care of around the house. I'm gonna try and make a test and tune in2 or 3 weeks. Looking forward to the videos.
  8. The company was in Santa Cruz. I'm not sure if they are still around or not.
  9. I've been here since 2001 but was lurking for some time before joining. I still haven't built the car I've envisioned all those years. Of course the vision has change many times since 2001.
  10. You just ran into a cooler hand. Was he drunk? Thats a lot to risk on a marginal hand. I play a lot of online poker and it's made me a lot of extra money. Believe me, I've seen much worse calls online that end up sucking out.
  11. Sparky, I felt the same way about red cars until I bought mine. Red just looks good on a S30. If I re-paint mine red I'll go with Rosso Corsa, (gotta love the name "race red"), or guards red.
  12. I have a set of 16x7 and 16x8 I'd be willing to sell but they are +38 offset. I used to have a set of 15x7 in a +15 offset. That was the smallest offset I've seen in the RS-8s.
  13. Nice setup. I've been looking at building a HTPC soon. I've heard good things about the Axioms. I'm using Paradigms. edit: Why are you still using S-video? You're not running HDTV?
  14. I remember reading somewhere that the 8mm rods were slightly heavier. I never actually wieghed them though. After I pull my 9mm rods out of the block I could weigh them so you can compare them.
  15. I'll do the good 'ol burnout test then drain the fluid and see how it looks.
  16. It's not viscous. I'm not using the shiro CVs.
  17. First, I have not opened my diff yet to even verify I have a Z31 LSD but it is a 3.70:1 and it does have the finned cover. I bought the car with it installed and I know one of the previous owners did install one. When I jack up the back and spin one of the wheels, the other one does not move at all. After reading some older posts, I should have checked turning the driveshaft too but I didn't do that test yet. Is this a normal symptom of the clutches going bad? If they are bad, will I get any use out of the LSD or is it just an open diff now. I skimmed through the shimming thread but I'll have to go back and read it again to fully understand whats going on. Also, if the fluids were changed but no LSD additive was added, would this cause any problems?
  18. Looking good Jim. I'm looking forward to seeing it all done.
  19. Thanks for posting those pictures. Now I don't feel so bad about that extra set of wats I just bought that will be sitting around for a while.
  20. Jeez, thats some impressive damage. You must be proud
  21. E36 M3. Nice. I've been wanting to eventually get a black on black with vader seats as a daily driver. Any turbo plans in the future
