Picked up an sfi5 Sparco suit last week for chumpcar in October at Pittsburgh Intl [old Beaverun] and think it needs some help. Brand new, all black [cause I get stuff dirty too easy]. Considering Datsun patches or some simple sticthing like my name and blood type or something along those lines. Ideas!?

Been thinking that my 4" oval tip needed a bit of toning down but wasn't sure how. So, we ground the welds and used a scrap 3" bend, cut it in half for the new tip. While holding it in place [for a symmetrical turn down] we thought it might look dorky cool to do a side turn. Map gas torch to enhance the tip color and it's done...

Personally I'd add the Focus SVT [2002-04] to your mix. I'm on my 2nd, great daily driver [low on torque though], around town average 25, 30ish highway. 6spd getrag trans [same as mini], cold weather pkg incl; heated seats, mirrors and engine block. In dash 6 disc changer, with column controls and a factory sub in hatch, cruise, power; windows, locks, steering. Beefier front brakes, half shafts, lower springs, stiffer shocks, upgrade to rear discs and body kit. Around 100k miles should be in the $3-5k range, easy to work on and the parts are not [German] expensive...

What is the manufacture date of your z [mm/year]? The grill lower mounting tabs differ from the series 1 & 2 240z's. Check my repro Fairlady grill thread here. The repro's use the gauge expanded metal [mesh] that you're looking for, are all aluminum, sturdier, lighter and significantly less expensive. I just shipped a few to MSA which they will carry. IF you're set on original I do have the [silver color] one shown in post #1 in the above mentioned thread, NOS in the original box, only used as a model for the repops and to test fit. I purchased it a few years ago when the long haul began to build the reproduction grills. It will not be inexpensive...

The z which is in need of the belts is a very nice condition car that sees some driving and shows so they'll need to be in nice to excellent condition, apologies if I didn't make that clear in my first post.

Friend in Italy has a Euro spec 1973 240z but it does not have the floor recesses [or pockets] that we see here in the US where the lap belt retractors go. He's looking for a set of series 1 seat belts for his z. Let me know what you have, condition and price shipped to 14617 please. David

It appears to be a late 71 build by looking at the following; lock knob on the fuel door, flip style hazard light switch, early console and am seeking radio. For the 240's you'd see more differences on an earlier build. Open the left door and see the build date on the data plate. I'd also crawl under the car to check; frame rails, lower rockers, pull carpets to see floors, pull spare tire [look in well for rust], dog legs as well as under the doors. Pictures are never the same as in person. Suggest you update your location to include city & state...

Is black nickel rust resistant like chrome or will it rust like regular nickel plating?
