Dang almost year since your last update! You make me feel normal. Thanks and keep at it.

The VG30T has 3 water sensors: Coolant Temp sensor for the Gauge. Cylinder Head Temp Sensor for the ECU. Water Temp Sensor only on the Turbo model 87, 88 and 89 ?? Oddly on my 88 I don't have one. Nor does my 88T spare motor I got from a pic and pull. Yes they are true turbo motors. Can someone tell me what the Water Temp Sensor on the LH side of the motor behind the distributor does? Searched the FSM and google and couldn't find the answer.

Did you find a harness? There is an 84 Turbo in the local JY.

That car was a custom setup of some kind. It was for sale on CL a few years ago for like 3 or 4K. . I thought it was a turbo ZX motor. I thought it had a standalone Ecu too. The head should be marked. It's easy to see. That body was toast. I think it's been sitting for quite some time now as I think the head gasket was bad back then. Might want to pass if it's been sitting that long since if he popped the head gasket it may have gotten water into the engine oil.

Wheel spacer doesn't fit 280z front ;(
JSM replied to AlbatrossCafe's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Geese after all that. I don't know why machining would hurt. Just go a little down and out, but I agree it should fit. You want me to measure the ones I have? -
I got this one and fit like a glove. I don't care for the exhaust sound so I'll be switching it out. But this is not the premium kit. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic19k/15-6021

Joel was super nice guy. Very sad news. I met him back in 07 at the GA drags. Loved his car. He did such nice work.

When did they not suck anymore? Still can't see the pics yet. Is there a news they are reversing their decision?

I understand materials, but when I drop my car off at the dealer for service they don't ask for a dime. Understood they have much deeper pockets.

I have an idiot neighbor where a shop has his mustang going on 5 years now for just motor work. The shop keeps telling him this and that and that they need more money. And he's dumb enough to give it to them. I had a one bad experience with a jeep I was having painted. Took a year to finish and then a month later the paint started falling off. I was so disheartened I just sold it off. My cars are like my children. I'd stop by for sure and want a visual inspection and proof of work performed thus far. When I get my Z painted I'm going to be very schedule driven, with little to no money down. To me if a shop needs my money before they even begin to work on my car that is a red flag.

I have two $50 for either plus shipping. One came of 75 and the other I can't recall but was a 280z.

It's crazy what Z prices have been lately. Put it on BAT and see what it may bring, but set the reserve at 18k. Put the bumpers back on for sure. Make sure you show a pic of all the stock parts so the purist can seem them. Rust free original or repaired? https://bringatrailer.com/datsun/240z/

Hoke Performance LS2/T56 install starts today.....
JSM replied to mrk3cobra's topic in Gen III & IV Chevy V8Z Tech Board
That is weird. I just got mine in today and had to check. Mine looks like they were cast in one mold, separated and packaged. -
Trying to make a 280z daily drivable.
JSM replied to harry1589's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
If your paying someone else to do the work, daily driving shouldn't be an issue. Just will cost you a lot. You didn't mention budget. If your going to do it yourself, get it running. Sort all the bugs out of it. Do all those things you were talking about, learn all you can and enjoy it for a bit. Then I would tackle the paint and body. Also you U.K. Is tough on emissions right? Do 75 fall out of that range for testing? I'm assuming you have another car to daily commute with now?
