  1. one more reason to search for a 240SX as my next daily driver, in a few years when its KA24 blows up i can swap in a VG or LS series engine. this just in...an LSx engine + any car = fun!
  2. so then gut the AFM and leave it in place? some serious thought can hide just about anything.
  3. whats their fitting selection like? are the prices cheap enough to make it worthwhile to ship to Texas? I need an arse load of fittings for my sump and surge tank setup.
  4. I dig the stance and your style, the pictures with the two guys are funny...do you know them? Im curious, what your setup is..IE camera, lens, filters used?
  5. thats a noble: http://www.noblecars.com/home.htm
  6. nahhh....there are no secrets among the Z family
  7. http://www.waytekwire.com/ what your looking for is Delphi connectors http://www.waytekwire.com/delphi-connector.htm they are very nice, but pricey. not that thats a really big deal considering you dont really need that many. as far as grounds go, your going to have to add grounds to a few of the components such as the fuel pump, electric fan, stereo ETC. I personally don't find that to be a big deal, but some people might. Joel, that kit looks really nice, I do like the fact that each circuit is separate and that you can disconnect them at will...that really is a nice feature. IMHO though, and for my personal projects, I would save that little extra cash and still chose the EX wiring kit. its so simple its almost painful, and diagnosing any problems would be a piece of pie. another thing I just thought of is where do you mount the bulky connector? its nice to have straight wire just in case you want to route your harness somewhere that might have some kind of interference or aesthetic complications. just a thought
  8. http://www.ezwiring.com/twentyone.htm I just finished the same installation and am compiling my notes right now so I can post a "how to EZ wire" sticky. its super easy to do and really shouldnt take you more than 18 hours to complete. I kept my stock tail light mini harness and plugs and crimped the new harness into that. I would highly recommend cutting out the male and female ends of the stock harness plugs so that you can cleanly install the new harness and make sections of it easy to remove in the future...should you need to do so. the key to a successful and clean install is planning I cannot stress that enough, but I'll try... PLANNING...ok there. there is a sticky already for the Painless Wiring kit that was moderately helpfull in my install, but it still required a good deal of thought on my end to get it all working right. things you may want to get: heat shrink tubing, black- Get this at your local hardware store or computer networking place. if you buy it at home depot or pep-boys your getting ripped off. Non-insulated butt-joints- These are great for getting that nice mechanical in addition to a good solder joint. use the heat shrink on these. Test leads, alig. clips- These are so helpful for testing circuits before you make them permanent. a nice wire stripper- a must have tool, really speeds things up another nice crimp tool- Make sure its not going to hurt your hand after hour and hours of crimping. ring terminals- you wont need many as the EZ wiring kit comes with a few and thats really about it, patients, planning, foresight goodluck! feel free to email me with any questions.
  9. it was a front wheel drive car to begin with, so steering isnt an issue. what he did was install another FWD engine/trans in the trunk/backseat with its own shift lever. the transmission were not synched at all, it was one of the reasons it lost points in the USC competition.
  10. nice! very well done yet again. im really impressed with the project pace and must say I look forward to each update/installment!
  11. Ahhhhh, I knew that from the add but didnt even put the two together. duh...brain fart on my part. including this lovely faux zebra fur jacket.... classy classy http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6827565943&category=15641
  12. I used "Seal all" on my sumped 240Z tank. its been almost four years since I welded that thing on and I have had zero leaks. I have a spare tank though that will be sumped with a different style pickup and then tig welded together early this summer.

  18. I always get the "I used to have one of those!" comment...although they always guess its a 280Z, never a 240Z. A few months ago when I was driver my red 73 around this young guy in a civic hatch pulled into the gas station as I was pulling out, his eyes got so huge I though they were going to shoot out of his head and he just stared, mouth agape, while i slowly cruised passed. I've only received one negative reaction, and that was from a guy in a big jacked up truck, he gave me a thumbs down. I was devastated and cried myself to sleep that night....
