  1. Its probably set up for hill climbs, thats a hand brake off on the left side of column.
  2. thats a great deal! why is it that most of the killer deals are in Cali? congrats...I too am curious about that old Porsche...

    Z31 into S13

wow that looks like a killer swap. pfft you guys are making me want to find a s13 coupe. major bummer
  4. lol. wow those guys really launched that truck, impressive distance.
  5. thanks for the tips. I tried to clean it all up by just using some parts cleaner and soft brush but the turbine wheel was totally caked so I ended up blasting the parts. amazing how much better that works I also found where that other piece went, so today it should go back together. I really only need it to last a few thousand miles before I upgrade...hopefully it will be leak free for those miles.
  6. sweet! sounds absolutely sick!!! what muffler did you end up going with?
  7. is that a dash cap? it doesnt look like it... if thats the case and you have a crack free dash in that car buy it anyway. you could part it out and make a bit of cash on it if it turns out to be a rust bucket. I cant speak from direct experiance, but I wouldnt think T-tops in an S30 lends itself to well to V8 power.
  8. same here, nothing like wearing shorts and flip flops in january while cruising the hill country with the windows down. Yup, I've managed to get more done in the last two weeks than I have in the last 6 months. finished the EZ wiring, 80% wired the haltech, 60mm TB installed, rebuild the turbo, install remaining interior bits, its almost a real car again!
  9. its just a matter of finding the right mechanic. they are out there....now bodyshops and painters, thats an entirely different problem. I have yet to find a trustworthy painter. I will second they comment on the weber carbs. they might work beautifully on old BMWs and VWs, but the suck on Z cars for some reason, ditch them and buy a set of early round top SU's. they are so incredibly simple and easy to work on, you can really set them and forget them.
  10. I also have the cheapo H.F. dollies, and while they leave a bit to be desired they are worth the money if they are not going to see constant use. I have a feeling that with some better castors they would be much more pleasurable to use. dont get me wrong though, If I had the spare cash I would have loved to have a really nice set like these http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?L1=L1_3000&L2=L2_3030&SKU=77730. we had those had the shop I worked at and they are heavenly!
  11. In order to save a wee bit of cash I bought a rebuild kit from Turbonetics, funny thing is though, they just sent me a box of loose parts with zero instructions. I have the turbo apart, and have found where the parts in the kit go (well, all but the rubber grommet thing!? where does that go?!) and am in the process of cleaning all the baked on gunk off the wheels and housings. is there anything I should do while its apart? should the bearing surfaces be roughed up in anyway? I do think they should but you never know, I've been wrong before basically any advice would be much appreciated. also, does anyone have an exploded diagram of the old Rajay turbos?
  12. wow thats some impressive work! and the fact that nobody on that forum said anything negative is also very impressive! I do wonder why the focus? but its all good..maybe that why they chose that particular body...more WTH factor. on another note, does anyone else find british slang as amusing as I do? "thats manic!" "thats the kings nuts!" lol..umm ok then!
  13. nice! what model is that last one? I dont know squat about 911s or the different codes, but that is my favorite type off 911. those rear fenders! geebus
  14. yeah, I was partially kidding anyway, I'm not reading to flare this car just yet. and your right, there is something about 185/70/14s that would just look silly with those flares
  15. wow that car looks really clean and it sounds like you have your stuff sorted out. I think the late model door handles are a great idea, I've always thought that first gen Audi A4 handles would blend in nicely..they are proportional to the car and have similar lines. going to be nice, thats for sure.
  16. are those diamond racing wheels? what size? and do you want to sell them?
  17. one good thing about Texas (besides the women) the fact that it has been 80 degrees here for the last two weeks. sweet!
  18. yes! that really looks good, I've always loved the black white combo that you've got going. It would look great with some 240 bumpers.
  19. I cant tell in the picture but is the hole round? if it is you can make your own grommet by slicing a length of fuel line or other rubber hose longitudinally and then just fit it on the sheet metal. if its square you could buy some flat plastic sheeting from the scrap section of your local supply house and make a nice square to round converter for less than a few dollars.
  20. did you happen to see the Top Gear episode on that car? I did, and it changed my mind forever. If i won the lottery you bet your arse I would have one of those on the way to my garage. along with the mclaren SLR. although I dont see myself in that car, its a work of art and an engineering masterpiece.
  21. They use to sponsor a 911 in the american LeMans series many years ago. I heard alot of news about how well their systems performed on the 911 and then it was gone... guess they found a market to concentrate on. hmmpf. ?/?
  22. some of us are just waking up with tremendous headaches a very happy new year to all. I have a feeling its going to be a very good year indeed.
