  1. I bought this 240z recently.. and drove it back from Minneapolis.. some how I didn't die... pics soon..
  2. 1973 240Z - 2560LBS -LQ9 V8, LS6 heads, MS3 cam, LS7 clutch/pressure plate. 2.5" dual exhaust. -T56 transmission. -R200 diff/LSD -(2)Kirkey Aluminum seats/harness's -Dash with autometer gauges -19gal fuel cell w/6 gallons -Maxima rear disc -Ground control coil over/koni 5 way adjustable shocks. -Sport max 15x8 wheels w/235 tires. -Reinforced subframe rails. -Optima batt. -Autopower Roll bar
  3. I dont know. I wouldn't scrap it, because that would be a waste. But, it's a lot easier to weld a cage in, and do all the work on my 260z, which was blasted, and then swap all the parts over, and kind of start fresh. That way I can't drive this one between then and now.
  4. Okay, I found today that this car weighs 2560lbs. -LQ9 V8, LS6 heads, MS3 cam, LS7 clutch/pressure plate. 2.5" dual exhaust. -T56 transmission. -R200 diff/LSD -(2)Kirkey Aluminum seats/harness's -Dash with autometer gauges -19gal fuel cell w/6 gallons -Maxima rear disc -Ground control coil over/koni 5 way adjustable shocks. -Sport max 15x8 wheels w/235 tires. -Reinforced subframe rails. -Optima batt. -Autopower Roll bar So, this car has 420whp, and weighs 2560lbs, so it should run a 10.6X 1/4 mile. It needs a full rear suspension tune up with new bushings, and some other issues straightened out. My friend is working on redoing the wiring already. I plan on finishing my other project, installing the 12 point cage etc.. and then swapping the goodies over from this 240z.
  5. I know there is one guy around here using one on an LQ4. Is anyone else running one? Are they any good? From what I can tell, they're sold on Ebay, and for around 170$. I'm a bit cautious to find out what would happen if it failed. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/F1-RACING-PROLITE-FLYWHEEL-97-04-CORVETTE-LS1-LS6-Z06_W0QQitemZ150124784691QQcmdZViewItem
  6. Wow. So the engine survived that 100%, or do you need to purchase some accessories? I wonder what the rear diff setup is like on those. Worth saving?
  7. Bad news, I went to the bank, and the rates were up to 6.5% 1 day later! Okay, so I'm floating right now, and I have until the 23rd to lock in. Right now the rates are at 6.125%, If they go below 6 again, I'm locking in. C'mon.. c'mon..
  8. Weird, I was just thinking to myself at work today. Wondering when someone would invent the next ultra light and strong material to work with. Lighter is better. And stronger is good too.
  9. Ouch, hope you heal soon, and get to see your car.
  10. Its usually in the last place you look.
  11. They attached the intake tube to the turbo with those springs.. Honestly, they have a lot of tools, but no idea wtf they're doing.
  12. I used a propane torch and a putty knife. I'd like to try the liquid nitrogen thing, because torching it is a stinky messy mess.
  13. My friend bought a 350z. Supposed to be clean. Was washing it maybe a day after he got home, noticed some paint on the rubber stripping around the window. He kept looking closer and finding more things, like over spray on the headlight, and slightly orange peeled paint, nothing like this guys though. He checked the carfax report and sure enough, it was in an accident. He called the kid back, and was pretty pissed. The kid said that it must have been the previous owner, because he had no idea. Yeah, this is the worst I've seen though. But, it's never as good as new. Unless you're paying BIG for it.
  14. I've been out of the hobby for a while now. Too much other stuff to pay for. I've enjoyed flying heli's. And on the simulator it's cheaper!
  15. Hey Guy, what did it cost, and where did you get your appraisal done?
  16. Geez, the struts are so heavy already. What was the reasoning behind gusseting them? Have you noticed any flexing, or are you just being cautious?
  17. A+ quality. Looks like that's all we can expect from you. Also, are you using a tubing bender to make those bends?
  18. Well, I agree, I saw your car in person, and it does look like a 24,000$ car. Congrats, and +1929595 for getting lower insurance premium. I can't believe they didn't use that as an excuse for RAISING it!
