  1. I swear, in 1974, the government made quarters like the PLAUGE. i came across 10 DIFFERENT 1974 quarters today going through my register and our tip jars. WTF at least you found one. I'd say stick it under your insole and walk around for a week with it in there. it'll come out all nice and "aged" lol. then drill 4 holes and permanently mount it.
  2. ah, you shifted too low and the wheels locked up since the engine speed couldn't keep up with the tranny speed. Kinda like if you're in first gear, and you drive it all the way up to like 5k, then just let off suddenly. it'll chirp. I can't help but engine brake/heel toe a bit. it lets me use the brakes less, and if i REALLY need to stop faster, i've got all that extra brake left to use since the engine's doing most of the work.
  3. so basically the guy keeps an overstock of older discontinued models?
  4. ugh, i went through ALL the quarters in my register today. and found 5 1974's 2 1978's 1 1978 2 1988's a few 1980's TONS of 1990+ a 1973 a 1965 and various other years i forgot of. BUT NO 1971's!!! (i'll keep checking.
  5. so, what do you think a set of near perfect bars go for on ebay XP i'm pullin my bumpers so i wont need them anymore and could use the extra cash (chrome on the bumpers and the bars are basically perfect)
  6. i'm glad i can't hear those things anymore now that my mufflers off. i dont know how ANYONE can stand the sound of a 4 banger with a shitty exhaust system. they can sound AWESOME (like a subie and vw) or they can sound like a cat that's being hit with a golf club
  7. so basically the underside of the car would need a pretty belly pan specially made for the car? because i don't think the undersides of our cars are smooth enough to fully benifit from a rear diffuser, but i' might be wrong hahaha
  8. the new beetle is pretty fugly the Aztec is but ugly as well oh yeah, and that scion Xb thing. pos shoebox
  9. just looked through some change i had. oldest one i have is from '81
  10. not really sure on that one. i've never heard it reffered to being a hydraulic handbrake. Just a staging brake, which would go to your front wheels to aid in staging, since a line-lock isn't as persice.. i think it would be more useful to just duct tape the hand brake button down, which does the EXACT same thing ^^
  11. the other one is PAINTED like it. this one will BE it. he already has the broken knob panel and the single volume knob off mounted with TONE (i hope) written on it. now just find a 1971 quarter, drill some holes, and chuck it in. oh yeah, and find a BURNT out 3-way switch to mount in the middle. make that humbucker a bit looser ^^ it's not supposed to be solidly mounted XP. this is gonna be sweet. I'd use the pics from that site as a guide, since apparently, it's a prefect replication of his cheap ass 150 buck guitar.
  12. so basically it causes the spring to put just a fraction more force on one side of the valve, so when the valve floats, it starts to wobble?
  13. you can get it boiled and re-lined. i belive most radiator shops can do it.
  14. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/7FAD/50-1410 looks like an MSA type 1 airdam with no bumper
  15. I don't see why not! they aren't turbo injectors (and i notice yours is an N/A) so yeah, they'll be fine
  16. how bad is that dash in it? it looks like it has a good sized crack, but compared to mine, anything is better haha.
  17. I remember that ^^ i'm over in phoenix, so it wasn't AS bad (but still pretty damn bad!)
  18. not only that, but the fact he made his parts out of basically scrap metal. according to the site, he was known to cast his pistons in the sand AT the beach built the con-rods out of catapiler axles and heat treated them built the cylinders out of cast iron gas pipes with cut peices of aluminum shrunk onto them. and considering that the stock engine would only do 55mph, that thing was insane. he built his own twin overhead cam design for it, and basically built everything from the ground up. what's nuts is the fact that he did 200mph in a 1920's motorcycle, WITH the stock style block, and HOME BUILT PARTS. you tell someone to do that now-a-days haha.
  19. he just said the new R1 hits 200 exact, there's a ducati that hits 200, the busa hits 200, and the gsxr 1000 hits 186, and can hit 200 with very mild changes. so theres 3 prodution street bikes that will hit 200 without changes
  20. I suppose. my boxer has a nack of loving to sleep in small places for no apparent reason.
  21. GOOD! my old highschool club site is still around AND the jirc works http://jcc.auniverse.net/jcc/ basically it's just a java IRC client linked to the server i have auto configed to it. if this place goes down, maybe bookmark that link so we still have a communication piont.
