  1. your best bet is to get the thing working on a stim board and hooked to your laptop, and work from there, megasquirt has a troubleshooting instructions based n what is and isn't working at that point
  2. if you have a T-5 YES! if not then NO
  3. ok first of all: S13= 240SX S130= 280ZX (79-83) and anything is possible with enough time, tallent and money (actually I think you only need any 2 of the 3) 240sx rear assy's have been added to the s30 chassis the fromt should be no more difficult, given enough time, tallent and money
  4. uh... I believe there is already a code variant on MSnS do do the 2 step, you gotta love open source code
  5. I only need the steel weld in plate, and even then $100 per corner isn't cheap! I wonder where he gets his pieces? I'll just keep looking
  6. I have nothing to offer on the 2 step but with a 1.9 60foot time I don't think the extra bottom end is gonna help unless you get some more traction
  7. the T5 uses a shifter with a full pivot ball seted in a top plate (held on with 4 screws if memory serves) the other trannies used a steel pin going through the pivot of the shifter, and some others used a nut to retain the shifter (early trannies kinda rare)
  8. does anyone sell just the weld in steel plates? I've been watching this thread becuase I have a set that came with the aluminum bolt in plates (they use like 12 small screws on each plate and I'd feel better having a welded steel plate) but I want the weld in steel type, they seem to be pretty simple and I couldn't inagine it would cost much to make them just a simple piece of 1/8" plate steel with the slots cut in it, anyone know is ytu can buy the steel plates seperately?
  9. I have no idea, it's not my car just a pick I fould a long time ago and thought it was superclean, you'll notice it's RHD! as for the TB's you might try looking at motorcycles or just search i recall reading about a company that sells individuals and even offers a Z kit but it was pricey!
  10. I useed the kirker urethane color, havn't tried thier primers or clears, the color I topcoated with a wester clear and it turned out pretty nice for a quicky job, no real problems from it
  11. for the ZXT you have the T-5 so you can use the short throw shifter for mustangs or camaro's
  12. how good of a test price? I have an early 71 (vented hatch, no storage wells in the back, etc.) and I have the KA24DE 5 speed
  13. something like this? of course it'snot a v8 but same concept
  14. first of all welcome to hybrid, nice to see another local, al the L6 trannies are interchangable, the 240z clutch and tranny will hold just fine unless your a hardcore dragracer and beat on it and modify the motor, I ran a 13.010 quartermile with a stock early 4speed with no problems (I'm now running 12.8 but needs more tuning), I am currently running the KA24DE tranny due to lack of T-5's in our area, and if your looking at $400 I expect thats a whole car? last time I checked marshals had a turbo car complete but with an auto and I got my donor from them for $350 complete! I say stick the turbo to the trans you have and you can upgrade later if you brake the stocker, I am still running the stock sized smaller clutch but with the nismo disk and a cf pressure plate, your welcomed to join the local Z club for dyno day at automotion on broadway on 11/12, bluegrasszcarclub.com if you want to meet the rest of the local z geeks
  15. looks good but I can't help but think they would look good on a first gen turned over and swapped side for side
  16. I think there is only one and it's not equal length which is a lot less important on turbo's, not sure of tthe manufacturer but it's not cheap!

  18. I dyno'd 216hp with 9psi on stock managment, I'll be back tot he dyno in a coupla weeks I'll post results, I just need to get the ms2 and wideband to help make tuning quicker and easier
  19. my car is an early 71, weights about 2350 with me in it! as fro the A/F I still gotta get a wideband, I think I am still a bit rich but afraid to lean it out without a wideband to know for sure
  20. so I went to the drag strip saturday, my set up is pretty basic, junkyard motor/turbo extra boost and fuel, 2.5" crush bent exhaust, previously I had run a 13.010 @ 107.75 with drag radials about 24" diameter on a 1.9 60' at 9 psi, since then I added megasquirtnspark, FMIC, DSM injectors and upped it to 15 psi on some 26" drag slicks, this time my best was a 12.814 @ 106.64 with a 1.7 60', I understand the tires giving the better hook and 60' and the I/C and piping causing a bit more lag on the bottom end but the topend is quite a bit stronger and the drop in trap speed just baffels me I'd think the larger lighter tired would yield a better trap speed, any of you hardcore drag racers got some insight?
  21. sounds like you just need fuel, either the pump isn't coming on or the injectors aren't firing, you need to find out which and why
  22. the S30's roof is rounded in both directions when you install a sunroof you are flattenin out the curves and distorting the metal, over time I have seen them develop a buckle in the roof, and if you chage you mind it's a big hairy deal to fix it!
  23. you want the injection harness! the 81 swap was covered, you'll have to search but it's here, as for megasquirt, it's benefits are most visible in the range of boost beyond stock so if you plan on upping the boost yes megasquirt will benefit you, and the megasqirt iwring to the megasquirt has been covered as well, use the search
