  1. oil in the turbo inet pipe would have to cme fomr the crank case vent by the distributor if i recall the stock piping configuration correctly, which means major problme, likely cracked pistons
  2. there was a guy who did it and documented it, it's a huge PITA, he had to chnage the bellhousing, the imput shaft, spur gear, and a mess of other internals, do yourself a favor and find the correct 280ZX T5
  3. I say run whatever you are most confortable tuning, I know a guy with a stock L24 and stock su's putting 160hp to the wheel! and I've riddinn in a prepped autocross car running dgv's and that thing felt like a monster, it's all in the tuning, yso run what you are most confortabe tuning be it SU's DGV's DCOE's or even fuel injection, me I'm a megasquirt guy
  4. because he got greedy, tried to spray his way to a faster et on a non intercooled VG (it was in a first gen RX7 att the time) anyone trying to make power on any turbo motor should first add an intercooler, nitrous can be fun, I've played wiht it and got greedy and blown engines wiht it myself, nitrous can be safe if tuned prperly with appropriate size jets, but you can't just throw a 200 shot on a stock motor with stick managment and expect things to go well
  5. all the jagged rusty parts need to be cut otu so you cna have dolis metal to weld to, as fot he L chanel they stuffed inthere, I'd pull it out, it might be hiding or holding more rust
  6. I drilled out the n/a adapter as the inside diameter was quite small and still had fuel issues so I sumped my stock fuel tank, no more fuel problems
  7. you can run 9psi witout an intercooler or any other means of coolign the charge, IMHO NO2 + turbo = bad things, a bud of mine did the nitrous on a turbo VG, and blew the motor, an intercooler and more boost is a much safer way to make your car faster
  8. oh wait, you are wanting to use the drain plug to feed, I did this once, terrible fuel stavation, these pans are not baffeled at all!
  9. a 1/2" NPT has an OD of about 3/4" remember pipe si sized ont he inside diameter, a 3/8's might fit
  10. sorry I read the title and saw the flaw, at any rate your turbo selection si the same as any other L28ET, you are just using a carb instead of injection, for 250hp the stock T3 will get you there
  11. a turbo is sized to the motor, the fueling delivery needs to be matched to the turbo, not sure how to size a carb
  12. it looks similar to the color of the Classic motorsports magazine tiger, which was a repaint fo the original color
  13. got intercooler? I saw no mention of an intercooler, with no intercooler the more boost you run the higher the intake temps and the less oxygen you get per psi, I suspect you'd find mroe power with a cooler intake carge, I mapped mine with megasquirt before and after intercooler, I was hitting 220 intake temsp without and intercooler, a cheapo ebay intercooelr got my temps down to abotu 120, and abetter treadstone intercooler got my temps down to around 100 degrees
  14. points distributor? an electronic distributor fomr a 280Z or 280ZX with a 12v coil really allows you to wind the engines up also is the vac advance otn eh distributor? if you aren't getting enough advance ti won't want to wind up either
  15. the floors are just one layer, the rust somtimes flakes off in layers, I have no idea why
  16. might wan to do a bit of reading, the L6 uses a chain not a belt, and needs replaced almost never, they can stretch but generally unless you rebuild the engine the origional chain stays look for rust, better yet search here for rust and look where everyone has rust, for every inch fo rust you can see there is a foot of hidden rust!
  17. I believe it's 1.25, most 8 10 and 12 mm fasteners on the Z's are 1.25mm pitch
  18. wow.... I'd recomend picking up a tack cleaning and sealing kit like the one from eastwood, the cleaners and etchers in combination with a length of cahin, preferably with some nuts an bbolts attached should get rid of any loose bits then you can seal it with a propper tank sealant, but it might be easier to start with a tank a little less fubar
  19. a cracked manifold generally sounds like lifter tick, and it's pretty easy to pop opent he cam cover and check your lash
  20. MSA sels new OE rods, i suspect any nissan dealer or parts suplier will ahve them as well, but ine new one caosts about as much as a set fo used ones, , it was aroudn $120 IIRC
  21. is the bore for the bleeder clear? a piece of grit could be preventing the bleeder from seating completely, if not I suspect a pittes or otherwise deformed seat which means new master cylinder
  22. looks like the corolla mirror swap?
  23. I have a complete cap and filler neck on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=250422891775
