  1. anything will fit with enough cutting and welding, the steering shaft and mounting points are not ideal for an aftermarket column but I'd be suprised if someone hasn't done it and the fact taht you don't see many of them I think is a good indicator that it's probably not worth the effort
  2. I seem to recall hearing that you could order correct upholstry direct fomr recarro, not a fan of the newer let us turn your seat into a bollboard upholstry
  3. mind explainging this? not a fan because it's a paint to remove? or prople slop it on an inch thick? or does not work as intended?
  4. pretty much all nissan/datsun/infiniti's share a center spline for their clutch disks, the diameters are the things that vary, if you cant find one for your n/a why not just get the flywheel and clutch form a turbo? it's a direct bolt in and had added clamping force
  5. I had this problem years back, I had the head surfaced ont eh gasket side at a machine shop as well as my exhaust manifold, never had another problem
  6. C5 and C6 corvettes use a backbone chassis
  7. is it just me or do those inboards appear to be for a viscous?
  8. avoid the ct26 like the plague, they are a proprietary housing and have odd oil/coolant hookups to facilitate their packaging needs, stick with the t3 frame, you'll have a lot more options for mounting, plumbing, wheels, housings etc
  9. ditch the maf and run megasquirt and then you can put a filer directly on the inlet, but it's still a tight fit, I had to remove the motor mount to put the fiter on
  10. yes thats guido's car, it was built for the GRM $2002 challenge IIRC, it was a very clean build, everything was cleaned and painted, but as the challenge has no real rule set there are a lot of oddities, that won't fit any one given class of racing, for instance the gask tank is a 5 gallon can installed where the spare goes, and the headlight bolt in and wire into the hatch of the car to meet the rule that headlights must be present and working, he latter added a "paddle shifter" (cut off boat paddle threaded onto the shifter just for laughs)
  11. downpipe is completely different otherwise a simple conversion
  12. it's not hard, I've done it, you'll need the crossmember and drivers side engine mounts, this si the most difficult part just dow to pita factor, also your car being an 85 you'll need the alternator harness and moutn fomr a turbo or an 87-89 n/a otherwise you need the injectors, turbo, drivers side manifold, oil lines (and pan) I can't recall for sure but I seem to recall the mas is the same, I went megasquirt, the n/a engine can handle the boost so long as you don't get greedy, intercooling is key yes the easy answer si to find a turbo z31 but decent ones are getting hard to find
  13. you don't need it to be sealed off for autocross

  17. I ran a southbend stage 4 in my Z32 with sport 500's and it was very grippy, a real bargain
  18. yes you should shim it, you don't want the upright movign at all!
  19. I seem to recall a thread in detail about the cop's with drivers vs those without in a MS forum, not sure if it was here or on the megasquirt forum
  20. I had an issue blowing out the exhaust gasket around the #1 exhaust port, the header and the manifold as the head both had some pitting from years of coolant leaks around the thermostat housing, I had both surfaced milled at the machine shop, no more leaks, if your's is just a warped manifold have it milled
  21. if you can't fill a dent with 1/8" of filler you need more hammer and dolley work
  22. the vg30et lh mount if way at the frotn, and might actually mine up wiht the S130 cromemeber, the rh mount is itn the moddle and will not evne be close, so you'll have to fab a rh mount at the very least, one that fits aroudn the alternator or you'll have to relocate the alternator, it's nto a common swap and if you want to do it be prepared to figure it out and do a bit of fab work, oh and I'm pressty sure the stock VG turbo location is right where your steering shaft goes so you'll also need to add u joints to the steering or relocate the turbo
  23. the optical sensors and wiring are the same form the Z31 to the S130, the only difference internally is the shutter wheel, the Z31 has that one larger window otherwise they are the same,, even the plugs at the bottom of the distributor are the same
  24. I think the op was simply referring to the rotor botton it's nto an upgrade it's just parts interchange
