I know its a drag tire but I run 235 drag radials on a stock zx turbo wheel. I think its like 6.5" wide, haha.

Ok fellas, Thanks for all your help. I managed to find a '76 280z with a 3.54 R200 2.7 miles away from where I broke down. So all is fixed and I'm back on the road. About 250-300 miles and I'm back home. Hybridz is the best, thanks again.

Well I stayed with some friends closeby and the diff is out of the car. More than likely I'll call ZBarn first thing in the morning and see what they have there. Thanks for everyone's help . . . I'll keep ya posted.

Hey guys, I just finished limping the Z over to our friends house. Like Gabe said we are stuck in Caryville TN which is exit 134 off of I-75. So far the closest option, I think, is Z barn in Maryville which is about 60 miles away. We've still got about 300 miles to travel tomorrow after i fix the Z so if there is anyone closer to our location with a spare R200 that would be fantastic. Thanks so much HybridZ you guys are the best!

Phil, although its a very nice shifting, easy to find replacement tranny, I wouldnt go through the trouble for a higher HP L motor. I came up on 18psi in 3rd gear once and shreaded every tooth right off it with a 240sx tranny. If he's goin for the big numbers with a manual, start thinking z32 . . . I hit 26psi every day with mine.

Sounds like he's got the parts for a fast car! Tell him he needs to get his tools out for some tranny swapping when he turns the boost up.

Well my wife and I had a '95 Camry that did us really well for 217k miles . . . .then i wrecked it a couple months ago. So we compromised, we needed another 4 door sedan that would be good in the winter months, etc. So the insurance ended up giving us $3900 and I went shopping. Somehow I managed to come how with this beauty for $3200! This happens to be a Platinum Limited Edition which is quite rare. Anyways, original owner, mint condition, just a motivated seller. '96 Platinum 850 Turbo 2.3L 5cyl turbo rated at 225hp. . . so I slapped a boost controller on it and jacked it up a few pounds and now it runs high 14's in the quarter with my satellite radio and full leather interior, heated seats . . . hahaha. For $3200 ya cant beat that!

dang Clifton . . . . I'd love to see what you can do with a decent 60'. 135mph should be down in the lower 10's

I've got an unsprung ACT 6 puck in mine and dont have much trouble pulling 1.6 60's.

I actually did this about a year ago. I was rebuilding my F54 block and in the meantime strapped all my turbo gear to a bone stock N42 short block straight out of a 280z. At first I was very cautious with it, haha, that soon faded and I was running the car in the mid 12's at the dragstrip on about 17-18psi. I had a pretty decent tune on the car but I still managed to kill some ringlands after about 6 months, but i kept driving it and kept making 12 sec passes. I finally ripped it out to throw the built motor back in and it was still running relatively well.

I'm a meth addict as well. Hands down its the best way to have a QUICK Z that runs on the street, $$ wise. I run 26psi all day on pump gas with only 450cc injectors. I just fill up on meth at the track for $2.50 a gallon. As far as running without a IC. . . If i was to start over again, I would do meth before and IC. But it still wouldnt stop me from puttin on an IC eventually. I run staight Methanol BTW.

If you were considering a Volvo option . . . I've always wanted to get one of the "T6" motors. Its a 2.9L twin turbo inline six that came in the 99-up (it think) Volvo S80's. Obviously not a ton of ready made go fast parts for it but I think most Zcar guys are used to that. They only come with an auto trans and they are FWD but apparently there is an available manual tranny that you can pick up perhaps from overseas. Prolly alot of work but plenty unique and I'm sure you could get some great numbers out of it.

I've ridden in Daves car and I gotta say its impressive for being stock. It really pulls hard up top. Its obviously a 12 sec car with just the motor swap.
