  1. I have Vitaloni Californias with the convex lenses. While these look close to the original 280 mirrors, they have about the same size small lens as the 280 mirror did. The convex helps widen out the view some, but it's still small compared to mirrors on modern cars. That's where the problem lies. For a mirror to fit the car proportionally, it will have a small lens. The ones with a larger lens that have a good field of view don't fit the looks of the car. So basically your choice is a good looking mirror with a not very good view or a goofy looking mirror with a good view.
  2. It was right over $400 for everything he covered and he supplied the material.
  3. I took it to a local shop, along with the old door skin and asked him to make it look as close as possible.
  4. Yeah but only on the drivers side. Gonna try to do the passenger side tomorrow evening. Also got the 240Z turn signals installed and wired up. How's your floor coming?
  5. I am seeing the light at the end of the current tunnel. I am chipping away at the interior. I repainted the panels with SEM vinyl dye and got the door panels, a pillars, dog legs, headliner and hatch panel covered with street suede.
  6. Or if someone would charge the same prices as the other vendors but the parts actually fit. I'm sure once word got out about better quality everyone would buy from said vendor.
  7. Light probably doesn't have friction to contend with.
  8. Did you have the big bumper on the back when this happened?
  9. http://www.moog-suspension-parts.com/Universal_Inner_Tie_Rods.asp Does anyone have an inner tie rod off the car they can get the thread size and pitch, length, etc. from for a 240 rack and 280 rack? Maybe we can get lucky and moog will have something that will work or work with very little machining.
  10. THE pistonheads forum does them over in EUROPE every year. Seems like they set up all the routes, hotels and everything. http://www.pistonheads.com/news/general-pistonheads/pistonheads-tours--viking-2013/27459 If I would win the lottery I would be in.
  11. Can you measure from where you sit on the seat(where the seat bottom meets the seat back) vertically plumb to the roof with the seat all the way back? I see people put seats in but they put them in so high someone over 6' wouldn't be able to drive the car without their head being in the roof. I like those sparcos and would like to use them if I can fit in the car with a helmet on. Also did you get rid of the stock seatbelt?
  12. Mine was tight with a go ls1. You had to remove the dipstick and install it and the headers simultaneously.
  13. The JCI works and puts the motor in a decent place, but you're limited to shortie headers.
  14. This may have been done already, but I couldn't find any info. I wanted to put in a power antenna with manual operation being able to use the stock Z switch. I used a Harada MQ1 antenna and 2 SPDT relays. Here's the wiring diagram if anyone is interested. It uses all existing wires from the harness without needing to run any more wires to the back of the car. When you're looking at the plug that's inside the fender by the rear marker light, the bottom sideways connection is ground, the right is up and the left is down.
  15. Hit the send button too doom but here they are. These are 2 driver side wiper arms. They sit a little high at the hinge setting. Gonna keep trying to find something that fits a little better but will probably use these until then dice they're already on.
  16. I installed them finally. Here are the pics with and without the spoilers.
  17. I used a vintage air for AC and heat but got 90 degree bulkhead fittings to go through the firewall.
  18. Halfway through redoing my Z I took a break to clean and organize the shop. My wife was sweet enough to help. Well before I realized what she was doing, she had already taken all the screws I had separated for different parts of the car and dumped them into 1 big box. So reassembling the car has been even more of a challenge. I'm down to just putting the interior back in and was wondering if anyone had any pictures of the screws that hold the tail light cover plastic on and the 2 side panels on. Also the screws for the glove box liner. I have a 78 if that makes a difference. Thanks.

Once I drive mine around for 3-4 weeks and no problems pop up, then I will register for ZCON. I have to be able to drive it there AND back.
