    King Z

I was working on my car today and someone stopped by and started to BS about Z's. In the conversation he mentioned his roommate in college( I'm guess ing late 70's or early 80's) bought a used king Z "from back when they used to make them", and it had a 327. He said it was fast but didn't stop worth a crap. I would have had no idea what he was talking about if I had not read this.
  2. I have a similar problem with my TTT setup with eibach springs. I had to use the large insulator on the rear and put in a ton of preload on the coilover so it won't drop at all with the weight of the car on it. On the front, I have about 1-1.5" of space between the spring and hat when the car is lifted off the ground and used the short insulator. It was a PITA to get the car close to level. This is on a 78 280z.
  3. At the bottom click on full site, then go to more reply options and attach it directly from your phone.
  4. That's why I was trying to figure out who makes them. MSA likes to mark things up a lot.
  5. Look on craigslist. There are quite a few shop compressors selling around here for around $4-500.
  6. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic08h02a01/40-2094 Anyone know who is making them for MSA?
  7. http://www.busdepot.com/0301600118 I think these have glass lenses.
  8. You will probably have to cut, weld and round the diff mount to go dual if you haven't done it already.
  9. Before I went with vintage air I thought about doing this. Went to the junkyard and there were 5 or 6 sportages there. 1 was missing the blower and all the rest were bad. You may want to grab an extra motor since it appears they have a high failure rate.
  10. I have a flowmaster hushpower. It isn't so hush though, at least not as much as I would like it to be.
  11. Yea. I posted what I used in the description of the video. It's crazy loud. Once I get the interior back in, if it's still so loud, I will probably add resonators.
  12. Actually it was angle on the left and flat bar on the right. Not the prettiest, but I did it quickly to be able to go to a car event , and since it doesn't move I decided to leave it as it is.
  13. I mounted the fan to wide aluminum L stock on each side. I then mounted that to the radiator. I cut one side of the aluminum L down to about an inch or so high to bolt to the side of the fan shroud.
  14. That's kinda like saying why would you need more than 4 cylinders on the street.
  15. I saw a guy in Mississippi a few years back driving a V2 but it was sbc based. A 4 cyl LS would have pathetic power to liter output though.
  16. Please post pictures. Right now I have NB Miata seats that need to be recovered, so trying to decide to get them recovered or use that money towards different seats with harness holes.
  17. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/350z16/50-4161 Anyone use this harness, and could post a photo showing the area where the original seat belt retractor was on the 280? My Miata seats barely hit the retractor and it's keeping my seat from going all the way back. Also they say not to be used with the stock seats. Does it have to go through harness holes?
  18. I'll be ready to start the interior next month probably, and will need a set.
  19. I used to have Haggerty and asked the agent about this. He said you can only drive to car events, mechanics shops, etc. I switched to American Collectors and they have plans based on mileage. I think the highest mileage plan is like 7,500 miles a year, but you get a lot more freedom with what you can do with it.
  20. Dash had to come in and out MANY times to get the compac to fit. Mini may fit easier but I wanted largest that could fit without cutting anything.
  21. I have the gto ls1 PCM and its on the inside of the car on the firewall right behind the battery. I took out the stock AC and used vintage air so there's room there now.
