    BMW Seats

My BMW/Recaros look like leather but I don't think they are leather. I think they might be simulated "pleather".

Bolt two plates to the bottom of the BMW seats about 3" wide each like skis. Then bolt the stock Z seat rails under the plates in the right location. Space the rails off the plates to get your desired seat height. I spaced mine up about 1" or so but I'm short.
  3. Leaking exhaust gasket or head gasket? A whislte sound crossed with a ping sound might very well describe the above. Ask me how I know...
  4. Three single doors symmetricaly placed, look better than a double and single door. Don't mess with rooflines. I also think that two single doors look better than one wide door. Also allows the doors to be spaced apart for more space between the cars. Beams can always be moved or re-shaped if the design/build is in early enough stages. Can you mess with the property grading to gain more height in the garage?
  5. My local hobby shop has one on the shelf. My wallet almost rips out of my pocket everytime I walk past it...my brithday is in July...hint hint.
  6. MSA should have tail housing seals.
  7. I think it would be pretty easy to re-engineer the washer section to accomodate a couple of concentric coil (valve type) springs. Not sure we need to take it that far yet but it's not an unsurmountable mod if we need to go there.
  8. I would replace the transmission tail shaft oil seal while the shaft is out. Why not. If there are no dents or deep gouges in the driveshaft, it's probably ok. Check the input flange of the differential for oblonged holes or deformation of the flange. Use locktite blue on the bolts next time.
  9. I think HybridZ should have a virtual prison. Instead of being banned just make it so that when you login, every single post is about a clunking rear end.
  10. Not sure what my setpoints are but I adjusted my controller it to keep the water temp needle centered or below center. With MSII and Megaview, I also monitor the head temperature directly through the sensor in the head. It ranges from 185F cruising to about 220F or so on boost. Hope that helps.
  11. My neighbor broke his neck and leg in a boat like that one. Him and his brother built the hull out of balsa, ply, and aluminum. Then they strapped on a massive outboard and were doing insane speeds on the morning calm lake water. All of a sudden, she flipped. He was rescued. The boat splintered, the engine sank and was never recovered. There is nothing like the sense of speed you get on the water. Really nice boat you got a ride in!
  12. Nice...reminds me of when all cars DIDN'T look the same. Very refreshing designs.
  13. Yikes! "Tri Elmar sells for $3,895" But you can get three good prime lenses for $300-$500 total that will each shoot way faster than that Tr-Elmar. Why pay all that money for not having to switch lenses. I guess that's a personal choice. Heck, get three cameras, one for each prime lens!
  14. BIG wheel with a REALLY low profile tire. Sounds expensive unless you can get a used 225/30-17?? Do they even make something like that? I'm in the same boat...with no spare paddle. I'll watch this thread.
  15. My friends and I did "freestyle" BMX back in the days before anyone knew what it was. We were inventing as we went along, and copying some stuff we saw other pioneers doing. We came home every night with deep gouges in our legs from the bear trap pedals tearing off the flesh. We built ramps out of stuff we found in the dumps of the Bronx. California was the leader and we were living the dream on the East coast. I still have my "Santa Ana" built GT that started as a Huffy. As each part of the Huffy broke, we would head to Danny's Cycles on McLean Avenue to "upgrade". Eventually, the Huffy became a ChromeMoly GT. Check out Corey Martinez! We were no where NEAR that good...but we were nuts. My favorite part is sliding up the handrail into a tailwhip at 3:35

  17. We make our cars faster so we can get from point A to B quicker, which results in less time spent making a carbon footprint! What won't they like about that?
  18. I run AVG Free on about six PC's and none of them fail to connect to eachother, wireless, or wireLAN. XP Pro, XP Home. XP MediaCenter, and Vista
  19. AVG, Avira, Spybot SD.....all three in combination don't lag the PC as much as Norton. Best of all, the basic protection versions are free and work for 99% of problems you would normally run into. They are fast at catching bad websites, emails, and protect from system file modifications/replacements without your permission. Norton is overweight and overpriced.
  20. Norton=Yuck Uninstall it and get a lightweight AV program. Can you turn off Norton temporarily...or is it so invasive that you can't even do that?
  21. There is a thread about cleaning injectors. Take them out, energize them with around 3-6 volts DC and back flush them with a solvent or gasoline. You can also send them out. Make sure you flush all the fuel lines and tank too.
