So I was looking on Nissan Heritage collection page at available trim packages. It states that the 240Z came in base, L and G packages. I know that the G is for the G-nose and flares but what was the L for?? Might even be a typo...... the page has that they came with a 5 speed and DOHC(not specific to the S20). The only thing that I can think of is for later models with the L series 2.4 block not the S20. Am I correct? I searched ALL over for and info but all i found were model kit cars with "L" denoted on them thus leading me to think the engine. Any ideas, facts or other useful knowledge? Tony D?

This is a VERY common post topic...... "where to start". Here is what most will say. Figure out what you want the car to be. Then go from there. Start with some searching its the only way to answer your question with out someone force feeding you their opinion. Searching is your BEST friend! That being said if the L28 is truly a fresh rebuild, USE IT! This will give you a great base line performance feel. You will get an idea of where you want to take your project. Hope you enjoy your time here on HBZ.

Yes the diff will work you will have to get some parts off a 280zx to make it work. Also if you want to use the calipers that shouldn't be to hard. 5 lug can be done but other than that you might use the 5spd if you want a stronger trans, you could adapt the fuel pump, master cylinder and the seats. That's about all that I can think of that I could use from a Z32. Do a little look in the parts section to see what you might get for trades or a part out.

I doubt you have the 620 dizzy. Unless the PO swapped just the housing...... but I HIGHLY doubt its a 4 cylinder dizzy.

Alternator upgrade is a must with any thing over a stock electrical system on a S30! Hope you enjoy it. Have fun with adding a fuse box.

In be for the lock down! I can agree that the cam could change firing order but all you would accomplish is reverse the intake and exhaust order and get a reverse order. No gain there........ just for snaps and giggles.

Yes get the Toyo calipers and 300zx 5 lug rotors do some searching and you will find more info. I have not done it so not much help from me. There are also kits from Modern motorsports that you can get

The spokes on the OP'd wheel are straight on top. Not sure if any one picked up on that. I am of no help to what it is.

Classic stater solenoid. Easy fix check all the relays, if that doesn't work the change the starter.

Nice find! I did notice that the head lights have been changed out and probably upgraded. Check into that maybe you will find your electrical problem.
