  1. +1 Gold rims I am usually not a fan of gold, but I like they way it looks. the orange softens it a lot! Very nice work, can we get the color code?
  2. Not sure but would these help for the lack of periods???? I think he was just talking way to fast and had no time for pausing from phrase to phrase........? Sorry all for the low blow but I couldn't help but thinking with that side of the brain.
  3. One thing that I just thought of...... Are we just limited to V blocks??? Or straight, or both?? Because there is more rotating mass with the longer cranks. So far as I can tell the only set variables would be: 1. Same over all capacity 2. Valves per cylinder 3. Fuel octane 4. Compression ratio To keep a good comparison I think these would need to be kept. Flexible variables 1. RPM This is as I see it. I know my views are my own, I am Trying to keep it to some set parameters to help the discussion as a whole. If you see an error in my logic please speak up.
  4. WOW I love it when people are put in their place....... or respectfuly humbled. (nothing against any one, but this could have turned sour FAST!) I like that they keep the stock look without the projector. Great find and comparison and what a BEAUTIFUL 240 you have, love the color!
  5. Very true what I was trying to say. As for the SIZE we are talking about equal liter engines. so a 3L V12 against a 3L V8 ect.
  6. I doubt its a S30 because they don't have 17 digits. It might be a Maxima if you have a typo......
  7. Well this has been one of the most thought provoking threads that I have read! On to my very uneducated opinon....... I would agree with the information given, that more cylinders = more power (keeping same displacement as stated) I would like to add that the frictional forces would become minimal due to the crank being up to speed making the end product "smoother". Adding more down force to the setup would increase the output in the end no matter what. To resate it, I am pleased with the way this is going. Hope my rambling makes sence to someone.
  8. Hate to point out the obvious, but this is posted in the Engine Components electrical section and HID's are more miscellaneous tech orientated........ That being said, I would like to see pics as I am not the biggest fan of the projector "look" but love what they do for HID's.
  9. +1 What purpose would it serve? Every cop that in town would be pulling you over just because and why do a swap when you can just fork out the cash a fairlady its RHD stock.
  10. Have you had your tires sipped?? I noticed a great deal of improvement in stopping distance with them sipped. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siping_(rubber)
  11. :puke::puke: GROSS But what ever puts the jingle in their pouch....... What a waste! I wonder if they will ever see "off" road....????
  12. Thats true, its bigger. It has been debated that the SR head flows better..... but any head can flow with a good port and polish and a valve job.
  13. The 3rz is just a stroked 2rz. It will make power sooner as long as its na, but I am sure you are going forced induction......
  14. Nice! go for it! Thats why its YOUR car, you can do whatever you want! But take LOTS of pics so we can gawk at it.
  15. Sadly he used to live in seattle!
  16. Any thing can be done with money and time. But this is not a swap that I have heard of in a S30. A plus to this engine is forged con rods and DOHC. I would go 3rz(2.7L) for extra displacement.
  17. Well its some what stock, I see a ZX radiator, no EGR, or charcoal canister and a hack job of a car alarm instal maybe???? But I would be cautious, look at how clean and painted it is, even if there is a chance it has a gallon of bondo..... the engine bay is trashed and so is the hood! There is likly rust under all that paint!
  18. WOW! Hey I have that in the bank! all I need is a 5 gallon bucket of vaseline so I can take it easy........
  19. WOW I have to say great work with CAD and very original swap! Just an idea with your manifold rotation, just cut the flange off and rotate the manifolds and weld on in the forward position. If they can't just switch sides.
  20. Well onther than the cost of the engine and tranny, there are a wide array of options. Just for the swap here is a site that was found with some searching. https://shell7.tdl.com/~jags/Datsun_Order.html But we need more info, not a general I want to put X engine in my S30. What parts will you upgrade? What is your budget? Will you fab the mounts and brackets? ect. Sorry I don't have a total cost as I have not done a V8 swap, but these questions are ask VERY often and only YOU can know what you need and dont need. Sorry if that came off harsh but there are a few members with a running totals.
  21. +1 two babies and a great wife!! As for a drivable Z not here, it runs but still doing breaks. Great swap. exactly what my plans are! Same color, and 5 spoke wheels.
  22. very true, but it takes a lot for a turbo to go "bad" and just changing out seals will keep it in top shape
  23. +1 The first thing you do when you have a question is SEARCH, it works great! Just try it for a few days then post a question.
