  1. I'm glad everything went well!!
  2. You can buy one on ebay if you want: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2477207544&category=35000&sspagename=WD1V
  3. Here is a great article on the Taurus fan: http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2003/02/electricfan/index.shtml Here is what you are after form the article: "Using a Fluke digital clamp ammeter, we tested the starting (or inrush) current draw and the operating current draw. The Taurus fan pulled a little over 130 amps on startup (only for milliseconds) and settled down to right around 40 amps using the high-speed wire. This is why you must upgrade to the bigger alternator and a Bosch high-powered relay."
  4. Ah Man! That means they are going to trash Chargers again!
  5. I was thinking you need the adaptor This part is your problem : "Later (ZX) cars came with either a 2.25" or 2.00" pilot diameter. If the differential has the 2.00" pilot, the pinion flange will need to be changed to one with a 2.25" pilot" But I take it there is a problem finding one. In that case if 80LT1 solution works, go for it!
  6. JTR sells those, part # DAT-110 : https://shell7.tdl.com/~jags/Pages/Parts_DAT200.html "The driveshaft flange bolts to the Z Car differential and uses a Dana #1310 U-joint, which was commonly used on most Chevrolets in the 1960s and through the early 1970s. The pilot diameter on the flange is 2.25 inches in diameter. All 1970-1978 Z Cars came with the 2.25" pilot diameter. Later (ZX) cars came with either a 2.25" or 2.00" pilot diameter. If the differential has the 2.00" pilot, the pinion flange will need to be changed to one with a 2.25" pilot."
  7. That stock 5 speed will not hold up to 327's torque.
  8. I wounder if this means Tomahawk Z will be released early?
  9. Is the aluminum thick enough to tap, or do you need to weld bungs to it? This is what Tim did: http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=36171&highlight=surge+tank
  10. First off, welcome!! I used the tranny mount that came with the kit. https://shell7.tdl.com/~jags/Pages/Parts_DAT200.html .You have to hammer up the floor some for the exhaust hoops, but it works fine. (240Z). I think the floor mods on a 280Z are not as bad.
  11. This may help some: http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2003/02/electricfan/index.shtml You can buy a new one if you want: http://www.autobodypartswholesale.com/cgi-bin/autobodypartswholesale/index.html?cat=16&year=1993&make=FORD&model=TAURUS
  12. Did you change your regulator when you bought the new alternator? I assume you are reading the voltage accross the battery with the engine running right? Are your battery cables new, or cleaned very well?
  13. You mean like this: http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=33744&highlight=corvette
  14. I can see it now! You need to stop putting tranny fluid in your intake!
  15. It must be so much schmoke it created a white out! (can't see pic! )
  16. http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=36904
  17. I also read on another post of yours that your alt is not charging. Someone said to look for the black fuselink boxes. 240Zs do not have those. But a bad ammeter gauge would do the same thing, your alt would not charge. To bypass the ammeter, you need to connect the 2 thick wires that are attached to it, and make sure you insulate it well!
  18. Sounds like you need a longer rod. I have the same setup but did not cut the rod, and it just has a few threads without cutting. Sounds like everything else is right, it's just the peddle being to low
  19. You should be at 0 dgrees if you are at TDC. Stick a stiff wire in cylinder 1 plug hole and turn engine with the crank bolt until the wire stops moving, just before it starts to go down again. You should be very close to TDC. It could be someone changed pointers, or cam cover at some point, and what you have is not for that year engine. Get yourself a timing tape for the size damper you have and stick it on so the pointer is at 0.
