  1. But the parts themselves are similar; there is nothing intrinsically different between an intercooler and an aftercooler, it's just the location in the plumbing scheme that creates the difference. So if a replacement is needed, use the manufacturer's part number or the dimensions to specify the part. Tony is not off base here.
  2. Did you buy the connectors from osidetiger? Acceptable?
  3. If this wheel allows me to convert my L28ET with turbo distributor to MS without installing a crank sensor, I am DEFINITELY interested. I already have the Z31 wheel inside as I currently have a Z31 turbo ECU, and I cannot remember whether crank angle information is used by the ECU in the same way MS needs it. Thanks for any clarification !
  4. No picture, but I am currently running 225/45/15 on my 15x7 wheels.
  5. I put the Z31 wheel in my 280ZXT dizzy. The non-turbo 280ZX unit is completely different -- I don't think it will work.
  6. The 280ZXT injectors flow the same as the Z31, so you can run the unmodified Z31 MAF. The Z31 ECU will not be able to use a wideband sensor, so you should hook up the wideband separately to monitor A/F ratio. From my dyno plot, the Z31 turbo ECU (can't speak for the N/A) maintained a good 12:1 A/F over the whole WOT range.
  7. I used a turbo Z31 ECU to operate my L28ET. It all works fine except for the knock sensor and a bad transition into idle; I used a Z31 O2 sensor, a Z31 MAF modified to compensate for larger injectors and the Z31 ignition; the rest of the sensors are the same as the 280ZX. I spent many hours nearly 10 years ago pondering and modifying the wiring, but it all worked in the end. Now my 370cc injectors are failing, and I am replacing them with more standard 440cc units and a Megasquirt.
  8. I was only a few hundred yards behind that mess, the idiot that spun and hit the barrier was trying to get back out into traffic, and almost ran into me in the right lane. I was in my pickup, but I sure recognized Daniel's Z. I'm glad you were not affected. I will not be at High Plains. I am shooting for next spring, hopefully with a Megasquirt.
  9. Thursday 9/1 (yesterday) about 6:45 p.m. I spotted a gorgeous silver 240Z passing me heading north on I-25 past Colorado towards University. Love the wheels and ride height, very understated; one of the nicest Zs I've seen in the area. I am fairly certain it was member Zmanco. And then there was an accident, but it looked like the Z was unscathed, and pulled over ahead of the mess. If it was you Zman, what happened? Were you just a witness? I hope you were unscathed.
  10. That's great work. I'm thinking about getting a S130 myself, I really like the 280ZX.
  11. I love the Porterfields, but I've never run anything else, and I have a completely different brake setup than yours. I am running Z31 4 lug rotors with 280ZX calipers, and factory drums in back. Ghetto yes, but currently happy with it.
  12. I could be wrong but I think Z32 are all 5 lug. Are you thinking of the Z31 4 lug rotor? I have those on my S30, along with 280ZX calipers, but the rotor diameter had to be turned down to fit. No way will that rotor, or any other vented rotor fit a stock S30 caliper.
  13. Are you sure there is no valve damage? It would really suck to have a valve drop off its stem because it mushroomed on contact with the piston and wasn't replaced.
  14. What a monster. Good luck. Are you sure 1 Walbro pump is going to cut it? Make sure it can deliver the fuel at the pressure you set on the regulator, or it will be a short dyno session.
  15. Just make sure the fuel pump you use can deliver fuel at 40 psi. You have to get the regulator pressurized to get a good fuel flow in the return. And be very careful about sparking from your battery and pump connections -- when I did this for flow testing injectors on my bench I kept the battery 4 feet away, and ensured that the electrical connections were totally solid to the pump.
  16. Looking good, love those tubs looking in the back hatch...
  17. The seller, by selling it as a "show car". Just sayin', don't make any more out of it.
  18. Very nice, truly amazing what that "little engine" can do.
  19. 99% of us don't put ourselves on pedestals....glass houses and all that.
  20. Not to mention the right wiper not lined up and the nasty old moon roof.
  21. I've got one, coil, mounting bracket and transistor trigger. No pigtail, but I might be able to dig one up.
  22. The driveshaft flange is different, but you can just swap it from the non-turbo. The axle flanges I think are the same.
