  1. If you were using a turbo clutch with the old set you should be able to use it on the rb25 flywheel as well. I ran my 240mm l28 clutch on my rb25 for some time before going to the automatic. I don't see why you couldn't do it for $4000, already having what you have. I spent considerably more than that but I spent quite a bit on things I didn't really have to have. Also, I paid $1800-1900 shipped for my rb25 motorset. After selling the ECU, igniter, turbo, and other stuff I didn't need I got back $500 so I only had an investment of ~$1300 in the longbock/transmission. JT
  2. I would vote on an late 80's/early 90's nissan/toyota pickup. For the most part dead reliable, decent gas mileage, and not hard to work on. If you know how to shop you can get one in your price range if you look around a little bit. JT
  3. Unless I break something serious between now and then, mine will be there for sure. JT
  4. I am using a BBK 70mm for a mustang. Got it off ebay for about $100 or so if I remember correctly. Not sure it is a good option for you though since my intake was built for it. JT
  5. Looks awesome. I dig the 56 f-100 in the background as well. My first car was a 55 f-100. Been wanting to get another for a while now. JT
  6. No adapters on mine. Actully, it has conquest rotors/calipers in the back as well with some home made brackets. Don't ask....they were on the car when I bought it. The wheels I am using are the 16x7's (+18 offset I believe). They fit great but I had to shave the fender lips to fit the drag radials on them though. JT
  7. Yeah, I would imagine ZG's would cover it fine. They will only stick out 1/4-1/2" or so. JT
  8. Pretty sure a 8" wide wheel with a 0 offset isn't going to fit under the stock fenders. My wheels are 18x8 with a 20 offset in the back and it fit very snug with the stock suspension/fenders. JT
  9. I just bought 2 15x8 weld drag lites with a 5.5" backspacing. From what I measured it should fit fine with stock fenders (I also have coilovers). WHen I get them and testfit I will post again about the fitment. I believe you would want a 5" BS with a 7" wheel. JT
  10. A few months ago there was a guy on ebay selling metal exhaust manifold gaskets for the rb25 for about $50. He had 50 for sell. I planned on getting one or 2 but kinda forgot about it. If I see them again I will let you know. JT
  11. Thanks for the compliments guys. Joel: yeah, thats me in the drivers seat. The guys at the dyno are good friends of mine. I got the hookup that day.....spent 4 hours messing around tuning the car for $50. lol. Stony: Just got the auto in the car tonight actually. Just gotta get a mount made, driveshaft cut, and then the other stuff like cooling lines, linkage, etc, etc. and it should be rolling hopefully. Mike: I'm kinda partial to the single color look personally. JT
  12. Thought some may want to see a vid of the z on the dyno a month or so back. Wanted to do a little tuning and get a number before the 5spd came out. http://videos.streetfire.net/player.aspx?fileid=A8D081FE-D44C-4274-88D5-DFCFFAF142B8 JT
  13. That new wastegate setup looks just a little bit familiar. JT
  14. I think it's pretty cool personally. I have had the idea in my head for a while now about getting some older domestic (chevy II, etc......) and dropping in an import motor of some sort (RB, 2jz). I think it would be cool as hell......probably get alot of crap from the domestic guys about it. JT
  15. If you are talking about a vg motor then it will be inside the distributor under the little wheel. JT
  16. Jack up the boost and don't worry about it for the time being. Although I do have a bov, I personally think they are overrated. I ran my 84 300zx turbo at 10+ psi for a few years and never had a bov on it. JT
  17. The car was painted this color when I bought it 5 yrs ago and I was told it was PPG Moly orange. Only color ppg has called moly is a primer and it looks very close to this but I don't really know what color to tell you it is besides that. JT
