  1. Drinking too much coffee can make stacking those nickles perfectly a bit harder to do!!!
  2. Regardinging the use of teflon tape on NPTs. Start the tape back at least three threads from the end of the fitting! This is an aviation thing and is for a good reason. You don't want teflon tape to get into your fuel system!!! It has a habit of clogging orfices. The alternative is to use a very small amount of the teflon based pipe dope...just enough to fill the threads and no more! After install a NPT fitting with teflon based pipe dope, just wipe the excess off for a clean look. If you use the tape, it is harder to remove the excess and if you prefer to leave the excess, you have to live with a white ring around the fitting.
  3. This may be old news to some of you, but I discovered a company called AFCO and a company called THE CHASSIS SHOP that have all sorts of goodies. So, for the guys looking for parts to convert your LCA's and TC rods to fully adjustable, check them out at their web sites.
  4. Terry, Your good taste shines through!! Really puts a more "business like" attitude to your Z. Definitely a plus up!
  5. Muskrat, If in doubt, call ARP!
  6. JustBurn, Stock SUs (round tops, not the tuna can units) will work just fine as long as you have an intake manifold for them. If the car you are getting came stock with EFI and you are converting to SUs, you want to be aware that...EFI systems require higher fuel pressure than do carb systems, so you may need a different fuel pump and or fuel pressure regulator....or just install a stock datsun fuel pump, intended for SUs, on the engine.
  7. Wow! Now thats some first class work. I can hear the guy now...."Hey look at me, I'm an idiot with a turblow and interdrueler". You just gotta wonder!!?
  8. I got a chuckle out of the one about whistling on the toilet and also the instruction manual! Any humor is good humor in my book. Thanks Cozy.
  9. That's priceless Tony!!! Better use a ziplock bag on that one!
  10. It's nice knowing others feel as I do about the state of affairs. I read once, not sure who originally said it, but here is what they had to say. If you want to change the way the country operates, you must first change the way big business controls the government, and the only way to change big business is to have the consumers change the way they buy goods from big business! I think what the guy was trying to get across was, individuals have to get up off their dead arses and actually commit to doing something. Can you imagine for one moment if everyone in this country just refused to buy gas for a week or two! My guess is that the gas prices would drop faster than you can say....well, what ever it is that one would say. Sure there would be some sacrifices made, but by gawd it would make an impact. I can hear it now.....oh my, I couldn't do that! How would I get to Starbucks and how would I get to my hair appointment. Lets face it guys, we're out numbered by sheeple. It's going to be a long tough battle, IMO!
  11. The description you provide on your exhaust set-up is interesting at best! Are you saying that the two headers feed into a single 4' long 3" diameter pipe and then slits into two separate 2 1/4" diameter tail pipes? If so, you my consider installing a race type bullet muffler in the 3" diameter pipe to attinuate and change the resonate frequency of the exhaust. Typically on Mustangs, to resolve this issue, the pipes come straight off the headers and out the tail pipe, but a crossover pipe (H pipe) is positioned between the two tail pipes shortly after the exit from the headers.
  12. I've got an interesting idea to resolve this type of issue! Install a PHALANX systems on top of the White House and leave it active 24/7.....problem solved. Sure, there will be some idiot that gets shot down because he is an idiot and the passivists will cry foul, inhumane, morally wrong, etc., etc., but quess what....the idiot didn't crash into the White House. Maybe then people may begin to think before doing!!! Most days I feel like I'm surrounded by walking illiterates (just stupid clueless people).
  13. Forrest, I couldn't agree with you more!!! All I will say is....keep your barrel clean and your powder dry, for when the time comes to really defend yourself! Our government is growing closer and closer to a tyranny! The problem, as I see it, is that the vast majority of americans just won't take the time to get involved or just don't care to get involved to actually control the government. However, these same people (sheeple) are the first to complain about what transpires. The people of america are just getting too complacent.....too fat, too lazy, and are a bunch of whinning cry babies.....GO FIGURE!!!!
  14. IMO, it doesn't matter what clutch assembly you use...they will all fail at some point if subjected to countless hard launches.

    Orgasm Day

Tim, you missed your calling....you should have been a comedian. I laughed right out loud on that one. Musta been a reach around......
  16. Lucky find! Congrats to you. If you get a chance, post some pics. I have s/n HLS3002126. These early Zs have a few items that are only particular to the 70 and early 71 Zs....like a speedo that starts at 20 mph. There are others however.
  17. zcarnut, thanks for the correction.....age has it's advantages and disadvantages.
  18. IIRC, the single v-groove balancer is a euro balancer and the accessories (alt. & waterpump pulley) may require a slight realignment of up to 0.125" forward. SFFT! (some food for thought)
  19. I'll second that emotion John! Hey, I hear that if you turn your engine off you'll improve your gas mileage by an infinite %!!!!!
  20. Azguy, that rust may have come from the hood vent. Regarding the cleaning of the Jet-Hot coated headers....just wipe them down (when cold of course) with just about any mild cleaner. The coating is very durable. I friend of mine who owns and runs a trophy truck, his headers still look good after much desert abuse.
  21. Hey John, my tires are certainly not race tires (good read) but I feed my Yokohamas back-top! If I try to feed them too quickly they complain a little, but I think they like it! Thanks for the post.
  22. I believe most high grade leather suppliers will recommend mild soap and water....then let it air dry. After it drys, work the leather with CLEAN hands to soften it back up. It works well on my leather furniture anyway! Just another idea.
  23. Under powered and over weight.....and UGLY too! However, If somebody will buy a piece of toast off Ebay....somebody will buy this car for sure!
