WTF Alaska is still in the 3 dollar range!!!!! 3.69 for diesel 2.69 for reg 87 oct 2.86 for mid 89 oct 2.99 for prem. 90 oct and these are the cheapest t in town. most everything else is 10+ cents higher per gallon!!!! I will say for the record i don't condone it BUT i will tell you from back in the day guys were doing on the street what is being done now on closed circuits. Leaving scuff marks on curbs and drifting used tires till they popped. I would literally come home at night with little pieces of rubber in my ears, nose hair.... everywhere. It was a rush that never gets old and i wasn't good at all. BUT the first time you wrap a car around a tree or jump a curb and rip the entire front suspension out of the car you quickly discover how expensive drifting can be Don't ASK!!!! Now that I'm older and more wise ( that's what they say at least) there are too many ways to total a car or worse KILL people. Do us all a favor and keep it on the track... unless or course your drag racing then by all means ..... AHHHH just joking keep it on the track where it belongs people. The old school drifting was a stepping stone. But this new stuff where they are going 80-90-100 mph just inches away from each other is crazy. You have to be really good to drift at the PRO level and maybe it will be the next nascar (NNNNOOOOTTTTTT) drifting will come and go but will never completely die but it will never get superstar status. In my opinion. the D-1 stuff on TV is GAY and annoying as hell to listen to. BUT seeing it person is much better. Unlike most other motor sports where usually the best seat is in your house. my 2 cents.

I think what RIPS was saying was that there are off the shelf pistons available to get the correct or desired C/R. no need to have pistons custom made or modified.... I low compression engine will be more sluggish and require more boost.

Remember guys this is coming from a guy that is running +1000HP on his RB30 and has built many of these motors. I have seen many including myself reinvent the wheel when it comes to performance rather that enlist the help of the people that have allready gone done that particular road.

Back in the day the local tires stores used to keep there used ( bad) tires under lock and key to keep the drifter from rumaging thru the piles for tires they could use that night. When storage became and issue they just started cutting the bead to make the tire unusable!!!

drifting has been around for a long time in japan and is still going strong. i first saw it on Okinawa back in the late 80s!!!!. Drifting in japan seems to be one of the first steps for gear head car guys to take. is it a fad??? it think it has been around long enough to not qualify as a fad anymore but will it stay. not sure current crowds at the events say it will stay for a little while at least.

I had some "shake" but i think all mine was vibration from out of balance tires???? still felt rock solid the only runs that felt funky were a couple right on the launch. including the one were i tapped the guard rail. I learned a valuable lesson that day. BIG WHEELIES ARE BAD!!!!! live and learn i guess right. Keep the video coming rob i love watching your car.

OK sounds good. if you give me the power i will help clean it up. I have been looking for a clean rust free 240 for a while and it seems they go pretty quick. But the ads hang around for a long time

Track is closed here. wont be able to run again till i get to UTAH and at an elevation of 4500 ft above see level i don't think i will see the same performance i had in Alaska but we will see. start it up every week or so to keep it lubed up. Oh yea i still have some body work to do

I couldnt get mine out without using a punch from the inside. I have heard people just using a big cresent wrench and turning them out but mine had to be forced out. If i do it again i will just remove it and either weld a bung or thread the hole for an A/N fitting.

Nobody here will ever get flamed for saying dont go with an rb... in fact you will hear me telling others it's way more economical to go V-8 then rb... I did my rb swap because i was in japan and had the conections to make it happen while i was in the states. If i was the next guy that wanted good HP motor i'd go with a turbo V-8.. But I will always like the rb sound more then any other motor

I was thinking as i read thru this thread it wouldnt be long before someone came out with headlight covers that cover ups some of those hidiosly huge headlights. then i came across your pic!!!!! NICE.
