  1. My .63 housing was only $250 from atp. Maybe there's some valve float causing the power loss at high rpm. My springs are at 200lbs@ .460 lift.
  2. The top end power on the freeway was great with the.82. Unless you want 1.60 60ft times I'd keep the .82. And like you said you have more displacement and more efficient turbo. The .63 could choke your engine. Mine would not pass 6000 rpm with the .63.
  3. I actually liked the .82. I changed it because I occasionally drag race the car (1/8 mile) and the lag was killing me. Quarter mile would have kicked ass. But daily street driving was great.
  4. Running L28ET th350 transmission with brake, 83 original turbo car. I'm using a solid diff mount, welded r200 3.70 ratio, drag radials on weld draglites with upgraded studs, torque chain on the engine. The drive shaft is custom with large gm style ujoints (with grease zerks). What else should I do to make sure everything stays together? What's a good launch rpm to get good 60ft and maintain reliability? Thanks.
  5. Yes I used a .82 for several years then switched to a .63. The car accelerated much quicker with the .63. i just switched back to the .82 to get more top end. I'm taking the car to the drag strip Friday. Hopefully I'm not the slowest car there.
  6. I ran all my pipes to one collector. There was enough room there and the turbo isn't far from the original location.
  7. I used the Ford cfi injectors for a long time 440cc low impedance part number 0280150400 or some combination of those numbers lol. Got them from motorman for $30 each. Im now using 52lb ford high impedance injectors 14mm oring top and bottom. They were about $300 for 8. They're great injectors.
  8. You can tune your idle without a wideband afr gauge. It sounds like it may be lean. Pull a few spark plugs and see if it looks rich. If not add fuel on the fuel table. If the engine likes the added fuel your vacuum should increase (go down one the map). Also make sure fuel supply is sufficient. I actually should have mentioned that first.
  9. I'll take $150 for the short block. It's in pretty good shape and would likely run good with a good head installed. I pulled the head for the valves and haven't seen anything wrong. I use dixie performance in McDonough. They do excellent work.
  10. Haha I saw this same post on Facebook. Did you get the answers? If not just screw the timesert in with some Locktite. Then screw the adjuster in. No other mods needed. Yeah any adjuster from a non hydraulic head will work. Don't forget the mousetrap springs.
  11. Sounds like the engine ran hot. You'll have to tear it down and take it to a good machine shop. They can mic the bores and tell you if it can be honed or needs bored. Have the head checked closely also. Could be warped or cracked. $1000 budget is pushing it. May just find another engine. I actually have one I'd sell but I'm in Atlanta.
  12. What size cup did you use to tig this? The biggest cup I have is #8 with gas lens. I have to stop frequently to let it cool with gas coverage.
  13. Can the north American manifolds be modified for these?
  14. Yeah if there's any leaks in that hose your map will be high and ms thinks theres load on the engine and adds fuel.
  15. Ive skimmed through and haven't read every post but i had the same problem about two years ago. I had to turn off ms every time i adjusted trigger angle. There's also certain trigger angles that will not work. Like 20-40 or something like that. Setting up ignition is really the only hard part to getting the car running correctly.
  16. May sound dumb but is the map sensor connected to intake vacuum?
  17. Could be interface from unshielded spark plug wires.
  18. Cool. Thanks. That's a good idea. I wouldn't have thought to do it like that.
  19. I'm in the process of building a custom intake manifold with 6061 aluminum and I'm worried about head flange warpage. I have a spare head i can bolt it to while welding. Will that suffice or do i need a thick piece of steel? If so how thick or should I expect warpage anyway? Thanks.
  20. I've done a lot of valve research lately. It looks like a Toyota 20r valve may be an option for the p90 in a +1mm. All the other dimensions are identical but I'm unsure about the lock groove. That's not really a big concern though.
  21. Use the turbo motor and let someone else tune it? What head is on the carbed engine?
  22. Looks like it may have run hot.
