  1. Recently aquired a roll bar from 280zjoel for an smoking deal. Anyway it was made for an s30 chassis and I amd trying to use it for an s130 or 280zx 2+2 chassis. I really only plan on running the main hoop. I need to cut the arms off and new ones will be welded in. Here are some pics of it "in". The welder I brought it to said he ccould make a gusset box right behind the main beam for the main hoop points and then the arms would be welded straight to the shock tower. I do not plan on adding anything to it yet except for maybe a crossbar. I can do more points later, rules permitting. I figure with just the simple 4 point it is still eligible for plenty classes. Anyway imagine the rags a the bottom are gusset boxes and I have a picture with the arms too short to reach the shock tower with the hoop completely vertical. The first pic the behind the passanger seat next two pics are behind the driver seat tilted: vertical: As you can see the hoop is about 2-3inches from the actual wall of the car on both sides. Will that be a problem? Also any suggestions are welcome. This will be the first cage I will ever have installed and honestly have been asking a lot of racing shops for info. On top of that its for a 280zx 2+2 so very few people have writeups and the ones I see have crazy cages in them.

  3. my ZX would stutter or have a miss every now and then, ended up replacing my rotor and cap. The rotor was dented so every now and then it wouldn't make contact with the rusted out cap. go figure.

  5. They are the same as MSA's. They are biscuit types. Since they are polyurethane they will squish, which solid camber plates wouldn't do.

  7. We need pictures. And price will vary based on who you are talking to. A good welder (or someone really willing to learn) who sucks at mechanical would like that car since his skills can fix what is wrong and vice verca if it was a great shell with a blown motor. Also what are the good points? did he add any aftermarket/go fast parts like headers, ignition stuff, etc? We need pictures of the rust to get a better idea anyway, but I would talk him down.

  9. that 3 to 4" downpipe is overpriced. plus the angle is not the best. I had an exhaust shop make me a downpipe that went from 2.5-3" with two 45 degree bends, 2 bungs, and a Vband clamp on both ends for $100

That turbo will fit, you can then weld on an external wastegate to either an adapter or drill a hole into the stock exhaust mani and weld a pipe like noodle (forum member)

  13. I have a Canon Manifold, and it's a little longer. It fit fine in my 260z, all I had to do was grind off about an inch. You are probably going to have to move the rod lever over to get it aligned with the manifold, unless you can find a canon manifold. Converting to a throttle cable would be a pain with triple carbs.
  14. That entire car will be destroyed in months. The doors will fall off, the paint will peel, the tired will explode, the tach will catch fire and the that stupid turbo thing will break off and destroy the engine.
  15. Used a piece of 18guage sheet metel, then got my car broken into and the jackbutt bent it, so I used some textured plastic stuff. I just did the radio part though, still have my cigarette lighter and ash tray.

  17. So you just wedged the side closest to the engine in place? I think that would rattle as soon as the engine starts up. You should consider packing the bottom with come heat resistant wrap or something to make it even more heat resistant.

Good, just got the Gnose on it, And now I'm in the process of making a better channel for the "mouth" to the radiator, and also a front pan to keep air from getting up and causing turbulence. edit: I'm a bit more pumped about my 260z though since I just put the carbs back on from being "rebuilt" by Top End performance (at the cost of an arm and a leg)
  20. You freaking scored. You could part that out for double what you paid for it easy. Why does the head have injector bungs?
