  1. Here are some pictures in the light. As for driving conditions this car feels slower, like I said but I've gotten used to it. Also it rubs on bad bumps but I actually ordered another set of rims with more backspacing(I'm going to sell these to a 240sx hellaflush fanboy). I do have to say though, this car hooks a helluva lot better than it did with all seasons. Just need some stiffer suspension now.
  2. Here are some better pics. As you can see the front of my hood is crunched in. My roommate backed into my car when it was dark and I was parked behind him in the driveway. I got a 280zx turbo hood and a new driver door(mine had a big piece of bondo put on to fill a dent). Those pictures will be up later. Oh also forgot to put down the mod list as of right now: Suspension: Tokico blues in back and Illuminas in front with Tokico springs all around (looking into converting a set of s13 coilovers this summer) Polybushings all around MSA Big sway bar kit Cusco rear strut bar Brakes: SS lines MSA cross drilled/slotted rotors in the rear only Engine: Rebuilt with an F54/p90 combo Bored to 88mm with ross forged pistons and 1mm metal HG Stock intake and ecu, stock headers, but no cat with ajust a flowmaster muffler on the end s13 sr20 aluminum radiator(replaced after mine took a crap on me) with custom mounts dual electric fans hooked up to one switch Exedy Stage one clutch Fidanza 11lb flywheel Inside: Completely gutted except for a few things I still need to remove from under the dash I sanded and resprayed the entire interior(except under the dash) Using a sparco fighter seat for driver and a 300zx for passanger Momo 10" steering wheel with an NRG quick release I think that might be everything. Probably missing a few knick knacks here and there. I'm getting ready to do the brakes and wheel bearings soon. Going to be using MSA drilled/slotted rotors in the front, PBR semimetallic pads, Timken wheel bearings all around and new studs. Also I'm trying to scrounge some extra cash to do better body work/paint. I have an Arita Gnose kit that I'm having a shop install soon and then eventually have them do the body work and paint.
  3. Wow I haven't touched this in awhile. Anyways, a lot has changed. The biggest(and best in my opinion) is that I got around to sanding the whole car and painted it with some gloss black Krylon. Whoohoo for $50 paint jobs. To get this damn thing sanded though I bought a power drill with a brass wheel and a 5" sanding attachment along with like $40 in sanding pads. Got all the crap paint off. It was like 5 layeres thick. Also got to see a bunch of cancer spots, well more like 4, and I found out that both of the rear quarter panels right behind teh wheel were bondo'd. I managed to do some body work, and didn't take a ton of pictures. Here is one of the hood sanded a really bad one of the krylon grey primer I laid down and the finished products And for some laughs later on I threw on a racing stripe. Doesn't look so bad in the pic, but it is a tad bent, and I got overspray on the black. Fast forward about a year and I hate the paint. It's fading like crazy and I want to repaint. I'm thinking blacking out everything including the trim and painting it a matte black, going for the murdered out style. Also you've probably seen this thread on me putting in diamond racing rims. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/98048-diamond-racing-rims-on-a-zxactually-on/page__p__920338__hl__%2Bdiamond+%2Bracing+%2Brims__fromsearch__1#entry920338 but just in case here area few pics. I have a few more pictures in the sun of with my new rims. Will upload later.
  4. Why didn't you just take the whole engine? And Isky cams are amazing. Get yourself a regrind.
  5. Real truck you say? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4bJsIogkGk
  6. whoops forgot the link http://speedhunters.com/archive/2010/02/10/car-spotlight-gt-gt-woodvillage-s30.aspx
  7. This guy did it. Shouldn't be too hard if you make some brackets that bolt into the upper and lower rad support and using pieces of rad hose and piping to fit it, but then again I have no experience doing this.
  8. Ditto what leon said. on a turbo you want the least restrictive exhaust. To lilt, I would run a full exhaust just because I don't want it to smell like detriot in my car and to quite it up. Also why do you have all those mods and no intercooler? piping and the IC itself could be bought for like $200 off ebay.

  10. I used the Nismo comp oil pan gasket that MSA sells, along with silicone. No leaks for past 6 months. If the dealership is telling you to do it though then you can always come back and tell them "hey it started leaking again, use a gasket and I'm not paying because you messed up not me" Just get it in a written statement that for the repair they only used silicone, no gasket so you have proof.
  11. I used a hand drill and like 20 5inch sanding pads, along with a brass wheel for the nooks and crannoes. It took me 2 days by myself. and a lot of motivation to keep going. I took it down to bare metal and found 2 spots of bondo on the quarter panels just behind the rear tires, along with several cancer spots under the paint. So I got to do some body work and cut out like 2 bad spots. Then I made a mistake and decided to spray paint my car. Looked better than with the old faded paint, but not nearly as good as ot could have been if I had spent $500 for a one day shop to spray it with real paint, in a closed environment (I did it under my carport). If you know you have a clean shell and just want it flat black you can use some medium grade sand paper and just scuff the surface then spray over. If you go down to bare metal just dont cheap out and do it right with proper equipment.
  12. When I did my alternator swap , I couldn't get the amp meter to work, but I didn't care since I'm going to swap all the gauges for autometer stuff this summer. I have had no trouble with wires burning up so far. I can also run my HID's, A/C, Radio(4 speakers and amp) and wipers without breaking a sweat. I have carbs though so I don' know how much more draw a big fuel pump plus the MS ecu will cause.
  13. I'm actually looking for one as well, but I don't care if you shaved it or ported it out. I will pay more for a clean shaved ported and polished one. email me pictures and your price WITH shipping to 91505 email is day1461@yahoo.com
  14. Dude it's just what rb26 said. You need a power source(battery) a switch, a ground, and like 10 ft of wire depending on where you put the switch. Like running electrical fan wiring. But you need to consider that you also need a seperate circuit for the highs, and the parking lights. Then you need a switch each for the turn signals(or a fancy dual switch). But if your combo switch works fine and it's just a matter of dim lights, you can try and get some new ones, or install a relay direct to the lights, that it a little more simple since all the wires are there. I think there use to be a write up on xenons30.com but I can't seem to find it. It would be the same principal as the starter relay for direct battery power.
  15. Was looking at these: http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=66 Since they are a bolt in affair. I plan on also going with the weld on front coilover set, but won't be doing that till summer. I just want to know if anyone is using these because there are no reviews on them. The reason I want to know about these s because If I do the s13 coilover conversion, you only have super stiff and insane spring rates (6kg is about 330bs IIRC and they only go up from there) Or should I just put my money towards the s13 since I can get a full set for the price of just these rears.
  16. Want to buy the hood vent with the NACA duct. I broke off the front stud taking mine off. Don't care what color it is as long as all studs are intact, with the bolts to hold them down. Not looking to pay a ton for just the one side. Email me at day1461@yahoo.com or pm
  17. You have to be a donating member, it's not about how long you've been here like most other forums.
  18. Looking for Ideas to paint my ZX. I want to do Black on black with black trim, kind of what it looks like now but I don't know if it will look good on a 2+2. Yes I know the racing stripe was sorta lame, but I had to do something to offset the shoddy spray paint. Looked through all 50+ pages in the s130 sign in for inspiration but nothing really caught my eye/isn't what I want to do. This is what it looks like now: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/90697-diamond-racing-rims-on-a-zx/page__p__859614__hl__%2Bdiamond+%2Bracing__fromsearch__1#entry859614 I also still need to put on my Gnose bumper so that will make it look more normal instead of having a larger rear length, along with side skirts and maybe a FB rear end. But for right now just the Gnose is going on. Some other paint choices I was thinking about was gloss red with black trim(powdercoating it) and a darker silver(not gunmetal) with black trim. Also I love the look of ZG flares and have only seen a few JDM ZX's with them. I was wondering if anyone has any more pics of a ZX with ZG flares, not the whole widebody. I know this is sort of a biased question but since everyone in the S30 forum posts threads about certain colors, we should be able to also. Edit: forget the ZG flares did more searching and found a thread with it
  19. I don't think it's that you aren't getting the feedback from not enough people seeing it, but you are asking for several different type of feedback at once. You are asking about engine when we have several different forums to ask around in, your asking about body and lightening which again is another forum. If you move this to the build forum it will probably die since hardly anyone looks at the s130 build forum. Also don't expect a lot of feedback for this chassis simply because it isn't as popular as the s30, in my opinion, on this site. Go check out the v8 forums and a bunch of your swap questions can be answered there.
  20. Honestly I would just go with the ARPs if you want a bulletproof build. You said it yourself, it's only $50
  21. Sone, It's my 280zx that I sorta inherited from my friend. Came as a 2+2, but I would like to own a turbo hardtop coupe one day.
  22. Try and get that motor running. It doesn't take a lot of know how to get these engines to work. Besides the only thing you lose is time if the engine is crap, but the amount of knowledge you will gain from working on it will be invaluable. Welcome to HybridZ
