  1. on steel, I use muriatic acid, followed up by a bath in this iron phosphate. It says to soak for two minutes and rinse, but I find it works better to soak and blow dry with compressed air. http://www.columbiacoatings.com/1024t45676ty78yj789345erfrg5467.htm
  2. Here is your 280 door panel. I think its from a 77, but I'm not sure. I got them in a junkyard about 9 years ago because they were in good condition and might be needed one day.
  3. I sell products through this company. See if there is anything you like there, and I will get you the best price I can. (lower than their advertised pricing) http://www.cdoc.com/
  4. Congratulations from a former Naval Aviator, you won't regret it!

    Life?

You should seriously consider the military route. Its a lot of fun (although I was an officer and pilot), but still, even enlisting, its very rewarding and you will learn a skill set. Its only 2-4 years of your life if you don't like it. You will meet new people from all over the country, travel the world, learn a trade and overall enrichen your life. If you do start your own business, like cygnus said, provide good service. With the airline pay cuts (50% in a year), I turned my powdercoating hobby into a business. 1 main product, corvette brakes, and am now doing 5-10 sets per week, all because of attention to detail and great customer service.
  6. I'm an airline pilot. At the time I was a relatively new hire with no money, and switched to a plane that was behind on training, so I sat at home for 2 and a 1/2 months with full pay and nothing else to do.
  7. You haven't lived until you've torn apart and fixed the wiring in these things. I did it to my last one, tracing and labelling every wire. It was a nice 2 week project. I spliced to junkyard harnesses into one complete one.
  8. says its got a cosworth engine. If I were to paint it, I would use a house of kolor candy over that beautiful polished body.
  9. If you use sand, wear a respirator as the silica is dangerous when inhaled (long term)
  10. thats one of my favorite trucks and I always wanted one with a V8! Too bad I'm broke.
  11. I used 90 degree angled steel to attach my 350z seat. I drilled a hole in the stock sliders and ran a bolt through to make them fixed position, put them in the car and used the angle iron to make cross pieces front and back. Then I mounted those cross pieces to the sliders on the new seat, and use that seats sliders instead. I did the same thing with CRX seats in the past, and it seems to work well.
  12. thats how the microsoft image resizer works.
  13. what do I need to play that video? windows media doesn't recognize .mov , and I don't have any other players installed.
  14. I do all my own work, with my wife or a friend helping when I need an extra set of hands. I do help my friends with their cars when I have time. Although I am in the Ga. Z club also, the main people I hang out with are the Georgia G and Z club, which is really just a group of enthusiasts that welcome any cars. We have a monthly get together, but we aren't an official club with dues and officers. 2-3 times per year we have a mod day at my house, with a cookout, keg, and people bring their projects to install. That way, those that know how to do stuff can help out and teach the ones that don't. They are usually a lot of fun, but I'm always on the teaching/doing side.
  15. I can already tell you how its going to turn out. Taking it to him, it has to be beautiful!!!
  16. Never had a problem myself. Heck, even in the 350z I didn't. What always really threw me off though, is how I read street racing stories all the time, and no one ever even challenges me. Maybe because I'm 40 and don't look like a racer? (although I did have one good run with a Mustang Cobra in the 350, and we were pretty dead even).
  17. I have QUICK Z here in GA. Even though its really not that quick, yet. I transferred it from my supercharged 350z when I sold it.
  18. DO you have the brakes on the wrong side? (bleed valves below the feed line)? Its a common mistake, and you will think they are bled, as you won't get any air out, but they won't be.
  19. In our kitchen, we went for Avanza from Lowe's. Last house was Silestone from home depot. Same stuff, different color choices. It's 96% crushed quartz and 4% resin. Great stuff! But, my sister in law has the granite tiles in california, and they look great, For $300, you should go for it.
  20. at a minimum, if it doesn't add value, it will at least be a selling point. I agree with you, that gold flecked tile is way out of date. We did beadboard in our master bath and it really looks nice.
  21. You already know how comfortable they are!
