  2. You can get your boost source from the intake manifold, run the boost controller in between, and into the wastegate port. It also looks like to have an adjustable rod on the wastegate. If this is the case, you can simply shorten the rod to increase your base boost level, or lengthen it to lower your base pressure. I am glad to hear you had a pleasant transaction w/ James. I too have nothing but praise for my dealings with him as well.
  3. JT- nope, not S&W, it is a custom fitted cage. It really hugs the inside of the A-pillar, C-pillar, window line, roof line, and sits above the roof line when viewing it from outside the car. If you notice, the rear braces even curve around the quarter windows. It is not in view from outside the car, and once there is a slight tint on the windows (nothing really dark), will be nearly undetectable. I will have to do a trim job on the door armrests if I choose to use them, as there was no way around them when installing the doorbars. The dash and driver's seat are in the car, but I removed the passenger's seat again to make the wiring job more accessible. If you would like, I can take a pic of the driver's seat and email it to ya... Mike
  4. Ivo- Thanks for the props on the wheels, I think I'll put on the ole 'D' center hubcaps hanging on my wall for the sleeper effect...NOT!! turbo is T-72 BB w/ .81 ar turbine housing Tx FL327, I have never had a powerful auto car, so it may take some getting used to...but when I do... Scottie- I am not going to count mt timeslips before they are hatched, but the next SEZS should be very interesting!! Hopefully we'll have another awesome turnout I'll keep everyone posted as the car comes together. Big thanks to the guys at Mazworx (shameless plug for them). They did the cage, engine and tranny mounts, intercooler pipes, and a bunch of other little stuff to get the car this far. http://www.mazworx.com
  5. Thank you for the kind words. I hope to be up and running in ~3 weeks. Recent installations include the cage, Cobra racing seats, 5-point harnesses, rear quarters cut and welded for ZG flares. I have finished installing the doors, side glass, fuel cell and SX fuel pump. Battery is relocated to the rear, dash and autometer gauges installed, springs, shocks, tie rod ends, urethane bushings, and probably some more items that I cannot remember at this time. My short list of things to do consists of.. painless wiring install, brake line and line loc install, -10 fuel line from rear to engine bay, windshield, back glass, weather stripping install, interior panels, and bumpers, all of which I have. I purchased a TEC II second hand from a fellow on the Supra boards, and he informed me today that he is out of town and won't be able to ship until Monday, so I should expect that by the end of next week. Fortunately (or unfortunately , depending on how you look at it), I work part-time in the evenings, so my days are free until 2pm and I have 3 days off a week, so not having time is not an excuse.
  6. Professionally installed custom roll cage by the guys at... http://www.mazworx.com/
  7. Well, I am making progress and wanted to share a few pictures. They are loaded in my gallery here on HybridZ, so hopefully the link will work. There are 2 engine photos and a couple of pictures of the 9 second certified roll cage that was just installed. Enjoy http://album.hybridz.org/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=7981
  8. You may have to do a little OJT (on the job training) and dig up a wiring diagram and start tracing wires. I had similar issues with a 71 240z I used to have and the PO, buggered up all the connections. I had to disconnect/reconnect many things before I was able to sort it out.
  9. Since you are still on the stock electronics, I would probably go w/ a 12-13 psi spring, so maybe a .8 or .9 bar. I imagine you will be running a boost controller of some sort for higher boost levels.
  10. This may be a little late, but maybe it will help someone out. When I did the ACT pressure plate install a few years ago, I couldn't get the clutch to disengage either... I installed an early clutch fork (has the dimple with a hole through it) and adjustable rod out of the slave cylinder (some early early 240z's had the adjustable rod) and was able to get all the adjustment I needed there.
  11. Awesome Cyrus!! Welcome to the 120+ mph club!! I guess we know where the next mod will be... the Diff
  12. Very clean install !! Kudos to you and Clifton!!

  14. Webcams will do a custom grind for you if you know what you want... I wanted a 510 lift cam, 266* duration, and wanted the lobe center of 114*. They told me that it would not be a problem, and they could custom grind the cam I wanted. Unfortunately, a week later, they called me back to tell me that their cam grinder could not do the 114* lobe center, so I just cancelled my order and will order from someone else who can give me what I want. On a sidenote, I plan on dynoing the car (currently stock longblock and stock cam with SP57 turbo, external wastegate, TEC II, 550cc injectors, Spearco intercooler, etc and 17 psi) right before and then right after the cam change w/o changing any parameters to see what kind of improvement the cam upgrade will have on the car. I'll post results once it gets done.
  15. My wife and I too have been trying to conceive for the last couple of years, undergoing many tests, fertility drugs, etc. Last month my wife conceived, only to miscarry a couple of werks later. It was a blow to us, but we are not giving up, just as you are not. Just wanted to let you know that you two are not alone. Keep the faith. Regards, Mike and Shani Gadwaw
  16. I love the sound of the open WG. Besides, you only hear it at WOT while you are in it... It does kind of give away your secret though
