  1. Wayne as I have said before I wish you the best with getting your Z ready, tell the trans shop to hurry up. That you have somewhere you need to be with the car. Thanks for the offer of the glide. If we break out glide then we will spectate. Thanks..... John PS: Did you ever sell the other car?
  2. When I run the fuel line it is a single flare, if you are using it for high pressure like brake lines it needs to be double flare. Good luck.... John
  3. I am not sure what a FPR is but I take it is a fuel pump. If the nipples are long enough they make hard line fittings that mate to an fittings. It is a sleeve that slips over the line. 1st you will place the hex head over the line then the slip ring and then the other piece, it is a compression fitting. They offer them in diffirent sizes like 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 1/2 inch. Hope this helps.... John
  4. Wayne good luck, hopefully the transmission shop will get you back up and running in time to finish up. Warren good luck to you also, hopefully all will go as planned.... As for us, checked the valve train all seems to be good, well started polishing.... I know doesn't make it faster, but looks better. Installed some roll bar padding, and just doing some good cleaning. May the Z-Car force be with all us......... John
  5. Hey guys, both of you Wayne and Warren...... Get the cars ready, It would not be the same with out the cars. I wish both of you the best. I worked on ours some tonight, flushing the anti-freeze out and putting in water. Sill have a lot to do, but just minor stuff.. John
  6. ME Too,what is the story on the purple Zcar in the back ground of your pictures? It looks like it is running a air to water intercooler on it, how about some more specs on your car and the purple car. Jerry
  7. I have messed with various types of intakes and spacers. To me I like the super victor intake, yes they sell parobolic spacers, it does help with keeping the carb cool, thus the fuel is cool and makes more power. Also it will increase top end rpm. Just my two cents worth... John
  8. If you run a too low of a thermostat like the 160, it will remain open and will not allow the water to stay in the radiator, so it will not cool. I think you are better off with the 185 thermostat, al least it is cooling. You might want to try a 190. This will let the water stay longer in the radiator to cool. I hope you understand what I am trying to tell you. John
  9. 1) Timing, I would start out at 34 degrees. 2) You are probably hearing the valve trian, rocker arms. Detonation usually occurs when a load in put on the engine. 3) If your temp goes to 200 then 185 at least it is cooling, yes that is normal. It means when the temp hits 180 the thermostat opens and alows water to flow to the radiator to be cooled. Then it closes so cooling can happen etc. I can't reccomend a thermostat degree, do not know enough about your cooling system. 4) Not sure about the 700r4 / transmission fluid. Hope this helps some... John
  10. The solenoid should be fine, you will need a battery cutoff switch mounted at the rear in plain visiable site. I agree with the abouve get you a NHRA manual. John
  11. I agree that was a Great story. I sold my 1st love when I had to get married 23 years ago. It was a 1974 Vega panel wagon, narrowed rear end with 15x32's under it. 355 chevy with tunel ram, custom paint. I saw it about 10 years ago at a local dragstrip and the guy did not want to sell it. Looked exactly the way I sold it, nothing changed. I wish I could find it again. I am happy for you.... John
  12. You can use the hi temp red permitex, we used to that when we ran the Stahl headers on the other Z car. It worked okay, but we do use the header gaskets now on the regular super comp hooker headers we run now. We run three sets on each side to give us extra clearence because of the angle spark plugs. John
  13. Rip you need to go to www.rockinghamdragway.com, and look for the pinks info. Then follow the link to buy tickets and to sign up. It is limited to the 1st 300 cars. It might be to late to register. John
  14. NO we have forgotten the issue for now per my brother. Thanks for your input. John
  15. Jon ,thanks for letting us all know the date of you PINKS episode. Look forward to seeing it and taping it . Thanks Jerry.
  16. Looks great to me, how much was your bender and where did you buy it at? I like the way you ran your door post bars, we used a add on kit from Comp engineering. we had a 4pt and went with th 8 pt.I thought it would have fit better than it did ,but John my brother made it work with a little tweaking .Jerry
  17. I will agree with my brother, you want know unless you try..... That was a good point made. Anyway, we will be flying the HybridZ decals and I will be wearing the HybridZ tshirt, hopefully will give some good exposer to the this site, who knows we might make it on tv for a second or two or hell we might make the final 16. We might even bring home the money....... John
  18. I recorded that epoisode, and have watched it several times. The PINKS all out at Rockingham is only letting 300 cars enter the competion. We found out today we are among the 300 car field. I know it is a slim chance that our cars ET will be in the group they pick , but who knows. The only sure way not to get picked is by not entering the event. I know we will have a Blast trying! We can't wait for SEZ8, we have made some changes to the car and hopefully it might even picked up a tenth or two. Jerry:2thumbs:
  19. We just pre registered for the event April 6th and 7th. If any one is going you can register at www.rockinghamdragway.com . It is limited to the first 300 registers for the pinks all out. Spectators etc. you can pre purchase your tickets also. If anyone is planning on coming to The Rock and has an RV we would be interested in sharing the accomodations. They have hookups you can rent at $50.00 per night, so we could stay at the track with car and not worry about a hotel. Let me know, pm me or call me at 803.600.1754 and we will help with the expense and also pay for the hook up. Thanks..... John
  20. What size turbo is that? What kind of headers? size? I am working on a turbo setup for our car. Jerry
  21. Aaron, bring one of your Zcars. I am going to call Rip tomorrow, but if you see him, tell him about the race. Jerry
  22. Hey Guys & Girls, I just recieved a e-mail that PINKS is coming to Rockingham Dragway on April 6,7, 2007. They are looking for cars running 12,11,10,9 second ET'S. The cars will have to pass Tech. Me and John are going to take our Z and see what happens. Jerry
  23. Yes we have a couple of welded R200 diff. The car drives okay around the street, excelent for the dragstrip. I have a full spool in the monte which is a street car with 4.30 gear ratio, it drives fine also, just when cornering the tires will churp other than that it is okay. You really have to be careful when the roads are wet when turning a corner because it will come around easy. John
