  1. Went to the san jose grand prix today and saw these cars driving around. there was also a porsche carrera GT, porsche 959, and a saleen s7.
  2. Here's a couple pictures of my floor after I epoxy coated it about 2 months ago. I didn't bother to use their decoritive paint chips. Thought it looked tacky.
  3. I think I have a spare one lying around. I'll send you a PM if I decide to let it go.
  4. I'm considering selling my pathfinder and picking up a'94-'98 miata to do some autocrossing with. I'm afraid if I do, I'll never start my next Z project. John: How does the driving experience of the miata differ from the Z?
  5. I got this from another forum a while back supposedly from ARP "The lubricant used is the main factor in determining friction, and therefore, the torque for a particular installation. Motor oil is a commonly used lubricant because of it’s ready availability. If less friction is desired in order to install the fasteners with less torque, special low friction lubricants are available. With special lubes, the required torque can be reduced as much as 20 to 30 percent. It is important to keep in mind that the reverse is also true. If the torque value has been specified for a particular fastener on the basis of low friction lube, installing the fastener with motor oil will result in insufficient preload; the torque has to be increased to compensate for the extra friction caused by the motor oil." also... "The friction factor changes from one application to the next. That is, the friction is at its highest value when the fastener is first tightened. Each additional time the fastener is torqued and loosened, this value gets smaller. Eventually the friction levels out and becomes constant for all following repetitions. Therefore, new fasteners should be tightened and loosened through several cycles before applying final torque. The number of times depends on the lubricant. For all situations where ARP® lubricants are used, five cycles are required before final torquing." I don't think you have to re-lube. Just back them out and re-torque.
  6. Man, I almost snatched that one too. Just wasn't 100% sure since I don't even have a Z right now. If he sent a picture with the airdam I would have left work to pick it up. Nice find. If you make a mold I would be interested.

  8. I was pretty disapointed sunday. I ordered speed channel 10 minutes before the race just to watch it. Couldn't feel sorry for myself though because I knew there were people there who took a week off work and spent hundreds of dollars to watch the race. Both sides had valid concerns but I think it comes down to this. "Formula One is a sporting contest. It must operate to clear rules. These cannot be negotiated each time a competitor brings the wrong equipment to a race." Sure Ferrari might have voted against a chicane but why should they agree to it and comprimise their advantage. If a team showed up with a motor that was prone to blow, should the other teams be forced to slow down to accomodate the suspect car? I hope this isn't the end of Formula 1 in the US.
  9. I'm with you on that fl327. I'm waiting till I can pick one up for under 20k then I may snatch one up for my daily driver. Gotta keep up with icice...lol. I would have to consider a WRX though. Anyways, nice run EZ-E. With your setup you won't have any problems with 350Zs on the street.
  10. If you take off the rubber stop for the clutch pedal, you may be able to get that extra 3/16" to disengage. This is what I had to do with the stock MC and slave. No clutch freeplay either.
  11. The ACT clutch I put in my old Z said Exedy. That was back in 2003.
  12. Get some electrical contact cleaner and clean the contacts. If that doesn't work you might want to look for any bent or loose pins.
  13. There's also Apex Motorsports in Santa Clara. http://www.apexmotorsports.com
  14. Never tried a 3.90 rear but I switched from a 4.11 to 3.54 and was much happier. Couldn't build much boost in 1st gear. Gearing for the freeway was a lot better too. ACT clutch grabs really good. Clutch feel is pretty heavy but you get used to it.
  15. Del has always been my favorite from the heiro crew. I don't listen to much hiphop from asia but Arata from Living Legends is from Osaka. DJ Krush usually has Japanese MCs on his albums. Lyrics Born is Japanese American but you won't hear anything in Japanese from him. Right now I listen to anything from the Living Legends crew (gotta support west coast underground) or old school funk and soul like James Brown type stuff. Asia may not be up to par as far as MCing but they do have a lot of god DJs.
  16. I got this one. It can play anything you throw at it. http://www.extremephono.com/Oppo_DV971.htm It's only been on the market for 2 months so they are still working out a few bugs. Right out of the box the colors seem over saturated so you will have to adjust the settings on your TV. Tech support seems good and they were pretty quick to release the first firmware update. Keep in mind that it can only upscale through the DVI port and it can only output 480i through component. I just got mine this week so I haven't fully tested it yet. I hope I'm not disappointed because I already sold my new Sony player and my Denon. You can buy it on Amazon also. Samsung, Zenith, Denon, and Panasonic make upscaling DVD player too but I don't think they are multi region. There's also a cheap Norcent player (less than $100)that will upscale through component if you don't have a spare DVI port or don't want to buy a switcher. About the plasmas losing pixels, I wasn't too worried about it or the burn in problem because the store I bought it from has a legendary return policy (Costco). Basically, I can take it back anytime if something goes wrong and they really mean anytime.
  17. Just to add to the DLP vs Plasma, with a half life of 30,000 hours, if you leave your plasma on 10 hours a day 365 days a year, it would take 8 years to reach it's half life and it will still be as bright as a DLP (not based on personal experience but from what I have read). Most plasmas today are rated higher than 30,000 hours. Of course price is a big deciding factor between the two. I was going to get a DLP but I got a screaming deal on a 42" HD plasma that I could not refuse. I've been running VOOM through the DVI input and the HD channels are awsome. Just got a upscaling all region DVD player (can upscale to 720p and 1080i) but I haven't had a chance to calibrate it yet. Picture should be outstanding but not as good as true HD.
  18. I was running a mk3 IC in my turbo Z. It worked fine for my setup (stock turbo @9-10psi) and was easy to plumb, but I knew all along it would have to be replaced eventually. Keep an eye out for the NPR intercoolers. There are several on ebay right now and they usually sell for less than $300.
