can't wait until someone puts the as-of-yet, unreleased LS9 into a Zee can someone say hot zee sex?
  2. WAY WORTH THE EFFORT look at EZ-Wire on ebay, and get a good kit with some spare circuits for things you might add to your car (yu dont have to run wires for them until you need them. i find that making a separate circuit for each accessory in the car is a little better, so that you can single out the fuse that is blowing, or electrical problems,... but that's just me. i would do it if you're oging that far. infact ive convinced my friend to do it on his too.
  3. so the general concensus is that harnesses are better for street driving? i just wanted to point out a possible situation in which they would worry me, but i have never been in a rollover. so whats the final word on this? yay or nay, at the right angle?
  4. a racing harness setup in a street car is a little bit of a worry for me. I find that if by chance, a car were to ride over yours, or perhaps a truck (god forbid), you wouldn't have as much free motion to lean over and move your face out of the way.
  5. if i were to build a cage into a project car of my own, what type of tube should i be looking to buy, and where can i get a manual of scca specs and stuff since we're on the topic of welding and tubing. Mull: I was wondering whether or not you're going to paint the entire top of the car black to accent the CF roof that you "might" be plopping ontop, or are you going to leave it as is and have a different colour for the rest of the car? One more thing: im somewhat concerned for your safety of both the passenger and the driver with that dash bar, mull. I'm sure it will stiffen the car a lot, but it looks to me as though if someone were to hit the car on either side really hard, it my separate itself and bust through the dash and cause some very horrible injury to anyone sitting in the car. if you think about it, the bars are already on their way into that direction, so i think a crushing motion on either side would: A: break the persons legs B: impale them with a dash bar. It just concerns me because is sorta don't wanna wish that on anyone. looks damn good though. love the door supports and the rear subframe supports, but from what I can tell , the subframe front supports are gonna be just behind the seats, near the corner of the floor-pan and where the trunk-area wall is. are you strengthening that aswell. I drew this conclusion from the 240sx s14 subframe which has similar mounting points.
  6. i thought the ford taurus fans ARE 4000 cfm? or is it just the SHO taurus fans that are capable of higher than 3500? there was a lengthy debate on some 4x4 and 240sx forums a while back, but I remember them saying they are 4000. I think anything above that would either be too damn thick, or would be a dual-fan solution. which would result in it being about 28 inches wide give or take a few. EDIT: This link may be of use to you. http://home.satx.rr.com/nissanweb/RadTest/RadTest.htm
  7. just upload the pics to http://xs.to and remember to copy and paste from the 6th box (the one with just the link to the pic)
  8. you didn't post any pics, i don't think. atleast i don't see any
  9. why not just use the entire S14 setup if possible. They come 5 lug in the later years, like 96 and up, do they not? There is also a thread about this going on. "240sx IRS Swap in my Z" is what i think it's called.
  10. zee's really are a car peron's best tool, i guess =)
  11. I'm probably going to be preparing a RB30 with some high comp pistons and some RB25DE headwork. the problem is finding some good gas to run in the darned thing if i want to use it as a cruiser. I just moved out of the old foggies home and im on my own, so i'm trying to judge whether a fueling system and a standalone along with some headwork would be fun with an NA 3 litre RB, or if i should go turbo and get around 500 hp for the same cost, since it's been done on RB30's no problem before. Im gonna hvae to read some aussie boards a bit more. i think compression ratio is the most crucial thing, as using a piston with a high dome can get in the way because i think the engine is quite close to interfering on a 9.5:1 setup. but i have to read more into it. im sure there can be some welding of combustion chamber to build up the comp. any ideas?
  12. I feel quite low for having not updated myself in regards to this thread, as I was interested initially, and still am. Here is an engine calculator. If I knew you were still going about this beast, I would have posted it way earlier. I hope you can use it, still: http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/enginedesign/
  13. lookey what i finded =) that was on the alsacorp.com website. in the mirrorFX (not chromeFX) section. close!
  14. apparently the method of doing this chrome paint job requires varying thickness within a 6 stage paint method using a high gloss silver as a base coat, and a bunch of white paint layers overtop of it, while being buffed in between. it's supposed to amplify the look of the silver underneath to a point where it reflects light so much that it looks chrome. or something. it's on the chromebimmer or chrome m3 site. google works!
  15. nice! i did the same to a pathfinder for the passed month or so, (weekend job) with a friend.. today we finally sprayed it, and we're waitin for the paint to dry so we can give it a nice rub down so it blends in with the old painted panels. this is pretty much something i can relate to recently, so my commendments to you!
  16. id like to see them on the car and painted before i make my decision as to whether i like them a lot or not. seems as though they are hard to make or get right, though. i noticed on his website that his BMW hood is a bit uneven.
  17. are you sure that is the only thing that is burnt ?
  18. u cant link images from your computer, man. go to http://xs.to to upload an image and then click on the yellow IMAGE icon when making a post, and put a URL in there.
  19. they look cool and all. but i think it would be good if he were to put atleast a paragraph or two of what those DIY machines are capable of, and what they can tolerate compared to industrial grade machines.
