  1. I'm averaging about 16mpg with a set of 370s and bumped up fuel pressure on a 3spd a/t. It was at 18mpg before the injector swap. Hopefully I'll hit the mid 20's this summer when I change over to a 5spd.
  2. Reminds me of the Pontiac Vibe. The window proportions are almost identical in the rear. Anyone know the c/d of the beast? Looks like it'll need the hp bump to keep up with the older SRT-4 due to the increased weight and size.
  3. I don't have the gauges, but a friend of mine has a water temp gauge. It's a bit difficult to see the gauge in bright sunlight as the tint washes out the light coming through from the other side. During night driving it's fine. Just a heads up in case you plan to go to a track event or such.
  4. Is the 280zx flywheel a 225mm or 240mm flywheel? Please let me know how much you would like for the flywheel if it's a 240mm diameter wheel. Thanks.
  5. TheNeedForZ, I have a spare MAF chopper wheel. Let me know if you still need it or not. That sucks about the wrecking yard not allowing you to take the wheel separately.
  6. The KKK K26 came on some older Audis, I don't remember which model specifically. This site has the compressor map for the K26 along with a bunch of other turbos. You might find it handy to help you select a turbo for your needs. http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/turbosupermaps.html
  7. Awesome times, that's really fast! Do you have any pictures of your setup?
  8. I use Seafoam about once a year and never had a problem with it. It does foul out your plugs so you have to replace them once you're done with the treatment.
  9. It's mainly down here in So Cal. that it happens. It's kind of like profiling and it sucks but they do take training here to spot the modifications. My cousin's friend recently joined the local force and he told me he had to take a training course specific to Hondas and 240sx's.
  10. From what I've experienced with blow off valves is that if the spring tension is too great, then the valve will not open unless you are running high amounts of boost. It's a tradeoff of response vs. staying shut under high boost. If the spring tension is too loose, the blow off will open up under boost and cause a leak. From the Option Tsukuba Superlap videos I've watched, the TypeR blowoff valve on the Jun Lancer gets a little surge, but you can hear the pshhhh when it opens up if you crank the volume up a bit.
  11. The open wastegate sounds awesome, great job!
  12. Here's a quick highlight of common infractions in Ca. http://www.btpautoparts.com/californialaws.html I think the blue dots will be illegal, IIRC it's legal only on <'49 vehicles, but don't quote me on that though.
  13. Nice vid man, gotta love the sound of the turbo coming online haha.
  14. Should be a light on the side of the ecu that flashes when the car is running. You'll have to unbolt the ecu to make it easier to see. There should be a green light that flashes and a red one will flash if something is wrong, giving you the error code in conjunction with the green light.
  15. Yeah those are the ones that people upgrade to. Just have to shave down the part that attaches to the fuel rail, or get a fuel rail from Pallnet.
  16. Sounds nice, are you running an open downpipe? If your bov is adjustable, tighten it down a 1/4 screw at a time. The more you tighten, the more boost it'll hold before it leaks, but it'll start to give you more compressor surge (flutter) due to the response time being slowed.
  17. Found it, http://www.davescholz.com/public/octobermain.html# Click the link that says "Dave." Has a lot more pics of his 240z.
  18. Properties say: http://myspace-797.vo.llnwd.net/00371/79/75/371015797_l.jpg So I'm guessing it's from myspace.com. I've seen that Z before. It has center exit exhaust pipes and goes to drift events every now and then in So Cal. I think the guy that owns it used to be a part of Slide Squad. One of the other members is in Japan with an A31 Cefiro.
  19. Engine code doesn't really matter, but you'll want to find one that doesn't have CC because it will make the installation a bit easier. The ones with CC have a longer shaft that has to be ground/cut down. I just recently installed mine that didn't have CC onto my zxt. It's pretty easy, just leave yourself a few hours to do the grinding nicely and you'll be set. John
  20. I have a vid clip of my zxt with a Megan Racing 3" muffler (same style as an HKS Hiper muffler) revving up. I can email it to you. The exhaust sound itself is a tad bit on the loud side without the inner silencer installed. I got the muffler for about 70 bucks.
  21. Yep, SSR makes them. I have a pair for the front on my ZX, but they're not too wide, only 15X6.5.
  22. The flashing red is generally trying to give you an error code. Some of the z31 ecu's have a list of error codes on them. What I've noticed is that sometimes a set of bad connectors to the ecu will cause this to happen even though there is nothing wrong with the car. I've had to swap out the harness connectors twice now.
  23. The only problem I've heard from the SRT-4 guys (well actually 2 friends) is the shift fork getting bent, and a clutch that doesn't fully disengage at times causing 3rd gear to grind every now and then. Haven't heard anything about the motor except one minor issue regarding the TPS.
  24. I'm running one step colder at .035 running a max of .85 kg/cm^2 of boost (~12psi) with a Crane Cams Hi-6 box and LX92 coil. If you are having trouble finding plugs for an L28, cross reference them with a Mitsubishi Eclipse turbo, they use the same plugs albeit only 4.
