  1. Well no dice folks. Its back the break ups the resets the MSQ erasing. So somthing either changed or it was a fluke that I fixed the problem. Ill keep ya updated on what I keep trying. I might order a new relay board. We will see
  2. Ive done this. Ive gone through the relay board and ecu a few times with a soldering iron
  3. I have one that im gonna try frist. I was planning on installing it this week end. But im gonna do some testing first
  4. Reseting issues. MS got completely erased. I might order a new MS here today im not sure
  5. Oh ya. My turbo started smoking pretty bad at idle also.... When it rains it poors
  6. Well i made it back. I was farther along than i thought. I was actually a few miles cross the border in FL. Well my friend grabbed his gf's laptop which luckly I installed all the MS software a few weeks ago awaiting his MS install on his RX7. And also Luckly my sister was able to find my flash drive that had a few old maps on it from way back when i was running my stock set up. So she e-mailed the MSQ's to my friend and he down loaded them and took off. It was a about a 2.5hour drive. and he showed up and of course my usb-db9 cable didnt have the drivers installed. So then we have to go drive around and find a place with internet so i can DL the drivers onto his PC. found one hotel that had wireless but it wasnt working somewhere. Finally went to a Flying J and had to pay 5 bucks to get on the internet. Once that was sorted out we went back to my car. I realized he didnt have 29v only the 29v4 INI files so i have to load my 29v file onto the 29v4 format and hope that it worked. I then had to go change about a dozen things and get her running have way decent and i figure ill datelog and use megalog viewer on the road. Well come to find out that Her computer is so out of date that there isnt any java on it or something and megalogviewer wont open. What a pain this is becoming. Have you ever tried to tune a map purely by using the shift up and down feature. It takes forever but I got it to where i could cruise at 78 at 15.5afr. Oh and for what happend to my laptop. It was sitting on the passanger floor board and i had a cooler in front of it. A little softsided one with some ice and pepsi's. Well some how it sprung a leak and soaked my laptop. I took my whole laptop apart on the side of the interstate in the hatch of my car trying to dry it out enough but it wouldnt turn on when I put it back together. So I left nashville at 10am and should of arived here at around 9pm well its 5:30am and im just getting home. Geez i hope everyone else has had a better day than i have
  7. Idk about your tires but i would expect more from your set up. Mine is very similar i think and when i launch i go with left foot on clutch right foot toe on brake and heel on gas. Then I slip my clutch to load up my driveline. and when the third yellow comes on you nail the gas and sidestep the clutch. I would blame your tires but I ran a 13.67 on crappy michillen 195/70-14s that where hard and that was on my old set up. I find that if your having problems with your tires launch softer (but still quickly) and then when you have traction get into it more. BTW why are you only running 15psi?? Your set up can handle more. Ohya my best time with my current set up is 12.837 at 110.37mph and that was only running about 15-16psi cause my clutch was slipping at higher boost
  8. Ive been looking for a filter that i think would work great for you for like 15 min. I cant find it though. I know Ive seen them. They are little round filters that have pleated filter material in it. More like a paper filter though. Maybe it was a K&N im not sure and then the outside has a rubber seal on it to where you could push them into the trumpet, but you would gain tons of surface area
  9. Ah those pics didnt load or something. That sucks. Gonna be at DNI?
  10. Justin I would say that the 275's would fit up front. the front flares arent filled all the way up like the rears are. But you might run into rubbing issues
  11. hrmm didnt aziza have the same problem?
  12. Actualy thank you for your post on the bad relay board Mobythevan. I probably wouldnt of taken the thing out and looked at it that closely if you hadnt posted it.
  13. Im running Falken FK 452's I was told they are one step more street friendly than the Aziens. I have probably 1200 miles on them so far and they are a great handling tire and offere pretty good wet driving traction. Pretty stiff sidewall but in all reality they ride better than the 195/70-14 Michellins i was running. I go them from WWW.edgeracing.com good price and fast shipping. They do have pretty good straight line traction and hold a line well through a corner. Im very happy.
  14. Is it a MLS one? If not i would suspect just an oem one or a felpro. If it is a MLS there will be little tabs around the outside of the head that have little rivits in them. You should be able to get a pair of calipers on that part and check.
  15. Well I changed a few things last night AND THEY WORKED!!!!! Im so stoked right now you cant even tell. She is back up to running 20psi with out a hitch. (knock on wood) Ive taken it out for two 5min runs and so far not a single reset that i could tell. Well here is what i did. First i physically took th relay board out of the car and looked at it very closely. And apparently when I soldered in the 12v constant and the 12v switched i got it a little hot and it seperated a little bit around the solder rings. So I got on line and found where the traces went and cut them out and soldered in some wire externally. Not sure if this fixed it or the next thing i changed. The next thing i did was i took SPEEDERS advice and looked at the datalogs and noticed that my IAT and my CLT sensors dropped off a the sametime the resets happend. So I switched those wires to sheilded wire. So far its working great. Im still going to go to radio shack and get some of the CAPs and put those on the alternator and the coil. So unless this comes back. All I can say is thank you everyong for your help. I couldnt of figured this out with out you guys
  16. Id say i have aroune 12K into mine but 4K of that was from an insurance check that got me new wheels and tires and my new paint job that i just did. Basically i spent the labor part of the check on wheels lol. I completely agree with the do things you can get done quickly. My car has come along way in the past 2 years. And its been because ive always tackled things in small steps. Only start one project at a time. Dont start doing paint and then dive into the suspension. Finish the paint and drive it a round for a bit. Then do your suspension. Thats what has kept me motivated to keep working on my car. Those few weeks or months in between projects where you just get to enjoy your car. If your planning a swap. Do not pull your motor untill you have EVERYTHING you need. Dont pull your motor just because you have the engine. There is so much more to it than that. Make a list and start collecting parts. and make sure you have everything. I can tstress this enough. I had to wait a week when i swapped my l28et in because i forgot to order a dizzy cap. Do you know how frustrating that is?
  17. Ya that probably would be helpful. But then again I need to get this thing drivable to drive back to FL by thursday.
  18. K well i cant find any caps that im used to seeing. Maybe ill hit a junk yard tomorrow and just snag some from different vehicles. The car is becoming almost undrivable. Its getting more to where If I take it up to 0 psi it just starts to break up horribly. I even thought maybe my turbo was locked up and wasnt allowing any air through so i took my filter off but its fine. Can the map sensors go bad and cause a problem? Do they go bad if you spike over the max value of them? I might see about ordering a new relay board pcb board as its pretty cheap and just transfer all my componets over to it. Im so lost on this its not even funny.
  19. That was as boring as watching my lawn grow.
  20. Where do i get them? I tried autozone but they where of no help of course. Would napa have them?
  21. I just took apart all my wiring on my car and did everything with twisting of all wires to sensors and such. My relay board is Under the drivers inspection panel is. I built my whole unit and ive had it out several times and all my solder joints look great. One thing i dont have is a condenser on the coil. How do i wire that up? Also when i had my alternator unplugged I noticed i didnt have one on there either. Not sure where it went. Im going to go take it for a test drive and see how it does. Ill let ya know.
  22. Also the centerforce clutches dont hold up to well in turbo applications. Id stick with a ACT set up or maybe a Comp Clutch one
  23. Going over that 400hp mark is when it starts getting expensive. The cast pistons are good for right around 400hp. So if your wanting to go for over 400 your basically looking at a full rebuild to do it correctly the pistons alone are around $500-$700. At the psi its going to take to get that much hp your gonna want a metal head gasket. Which are I think 150-250 depending on thickness. Plus all machine work and new bearings. Thats when it starts to add up.
