  1. it should be the wire that is firing your msd on the negative side of your coil. wire it up like this picturehttp://diyautotune.com/images/cartech_articles/280zx/280zxt_relay_wiring.gif
  2. well i tried his msq on my engine and all i changed was the required fuel from 7.0 to 6.8 for my injectors and changed the settings for the high Z injectors and it started right up. wasnt idling very well so i changed the crank angle to what i have it set at in my msq. his was 60 mine was 43. so i think he has a problem else where.
  3. pallnet im running the stock 82 zxt intake and exhaust manifolds and they get enough engagement to hold it tight it just doesnt get fully though the locking part of the lock nut. does that make sense? and i thought it might of just been my set but we installed a set on SPEEDERS and it was the same. its working but i would rather have more of the threads passing through the bolt. not saying your kit is bad in any way shape or form though as its working fine i just would of liked it to be like 2-3 mm longer
  4. yep sure have check napa for some studs of the proper length. or palllnet sells a set also, but i had a problem with them being a tad to short for my liking

  6. if we cant get this running by dni something is wrong lol ive been looking at your map and your idle values seem a little high to me. but here is what i want you to try. i want you to decrease you required fuel till it will start up and run. keep it running till its up to operating temp. then go back and re enter your required fuel to the proper setting. and while you have your wide band hooked up to your MS start changing your ve table till you get a solid idle.. also have you set up your distributor and then set your base timing?? thats all i got for ya as of now. ill try running this msq on my car tomorrow and see how it goes. oh and how do you know your putting tons of fuel into the cylinders??? just the smell? well hope that helps
  7. e-mail it to me yz125mxracer2001 at yahoo.com. i would hook your wideband up just so you know whats going on.. and this may be a stupid question but its something i did and it made my car not start. have you hooked up the megasquirt to the manifold with a vacuum hose??? i didnt and it wouldnt start. and was just loading the engine up with fuel
  8. what file are you using?? are you using Ricks file?? ya please post up your msq. or i could send you mine considering im running the same basic setup. im running a stock block. head. and intake. and stock t3. with msns v3.0 460 highZ injectors. im having the VB driver control my msd-6A and then that fires a msd ss coil. with a lc-1 wideband and my boost set to 13psi. so ya post the msq so we can help ya out.

  12. i just set up my megasquirt with in the last month and half.. and if i can make a suggestion it would be to invest in a wideband O2 meter. i had no experiance tuning fuel injection systems. and a month later along with my wideband ive got a pretty good tuned map. but i couldnt imagine where i would be with out my wide band.. sorry i cant be much help with the tunning but it would make your life alot easier if you got a wideband. you can get a lc-1 for like 200bucks and it will help you out tons!!
  13. no you should not losen the bolts on the flywheel. did you rebuild the motor??
  14. my car had the stock engine and head and it came with an e88 from every thing ive read the 260z came with the e88 that had the larger exhaust valves and the cam has the C stamped on it
  15. id ride it!!! why build something if you cant ride it???? but i guess ive had hundreds of wrecks so im not to worried about keeping a street bike up.. lol. When i used to get my new race bikes before i would even take them out on the track i would just take it out and let it idle in secound gear and while its rolling along step off the bike and let go!!!! then you got the first wreck out of the way and you dont have to worry about it being all shinny any more lol

  17. there is no difference between manual and auto starters.. you did install the flywhieel right? stupid question just thought i would ask though. was your flywheels teeth in good shape? try putting your car in gear and roll it backwards and then try again... if that doesnt work try a new starter
  18. have you gone and looked through all the maps that people have posted?? i have a feeling there is one that is close enough. i have one that i think should work for ya to get ya running if not.. well its not mine i got it from someone else as a starting point but you will still have to tune

  20. first check and see if your oil feed line is tight. second check to see if your oil return line is hooked up.. if all those are hooked up. then you prolly need a turbo rebuild or a new turbo
